Candy Bar Buffet

Candy bars are really pretty and they add excitement to kids and young adults. Can anyone provide other merchants dealing with this so we can do a comparison? Apart from ET Artisans, my fat lady, De La Creme and Cake Love Couture, do you know of someone who has the ability to set up a stand for your special day?

Just attended a friend's wedding yesterday at Raffles and they have catered a all-blue candy buffet and the bride told me it only cost them about 3-4 bucks per guest and all the sweets are imported from somewhere. Can PM me for contact and picture

I think the problem is the jars are so expensive in singapore. I tried to look around and the jars (even the ordinary vase in spotlight) cost at least $20.*faint

Alert to all Brides to be..please do not use Eatzi for your buffet catering if you have any.

We ordered a buffet for 09 June 2012 evening and guess what??? The buffet did not turn up. My husband called the catering phone no. but there was no one to pick up the phone because it is after office hour. In the end, we have to call Eatzi restaurant in order to get the catering manager to call us.

Then, nightmares started. We were told that the delivery van broke down at Marina, then another one told us that delivery van was jammed at Bt Panjang, after that, we were told that they need to re-cook the food in the kitchen cos its past "3 hr" mark. Then we were told that they could not figure out what the delivery person are trying, mine mine mine.

That was already 745pm when we called them and our guests were without food still. They said that they will do the setup first and food to arrive later. We could not wait any longer. We did KFC takeaway instead.

And Eatzi did not call to apologize until Monday cos Monday is work day. All other days are off. They said that they will give a buffet FOC, ANYTIME. The question is, Whats the point? event was already over, are they expecting ppl to hold a solemnisation, full month celebration, AGAIN?

Eatzi, being a renowned restaurant and catering service. To receive such lousy service from them is devastating, how can there be no contacting phone no. during non working days? Are there no contingency plans if the delivery van breaks down? Why were there so many loopholes in their BS excuses?

Please, please consider again if you want to use Eatzi.

I tried DIY the candy bar buffet!
O boy.... even if I prepared everything but I wouldn't be able to do the setup myself on the BIG day! hahaha....

so lesson learn.... best to get a vendor to ease the to-do-list on actual day...

my personal feel.... a candy bar buffet is really good to have esp for wedding lunch...

1) wedding lunch is usual 1 dish lesser than dinner
2) the guests can munch a bit before the lunch start which is usually late
3) tea ceremony/ ROM usually will held in the hotel for lunch reception, ur helpers and guests can snack a bit :p

after my own setup, I actually done a few wedding candy bar setups!
pm me if require more details...

thanks..

my wedding was 3 months ago, and i DIY my candy corner. i bought all the 9 apothecary jars from Hort park... and then hand-painted them myself.
it is actually more memorable if you do it yourself.

now they are up for rent. $15/jar.

i also used 2 huge cupcake stands (made of cardboards) that i got from London. they are also up for rent. $15/stand.

email me if you are interested. and i'll show you the photos of the setup.

enjoy your wedding preparation!

Jars are so expensive. I been looking around for nice ones and even went down to thomson florist area and each cost about $50 and above. Looks like i might need to reconsider to hire someone instead of doing it on my own.

Hi,

I happen to google and saw a Buffet caterer giving away complimentary Candy Bar Buffet.

Thought its very interesting to share http://www.gustos.com.sg/whats-new

Hi All

Anyone try to DIY candy table before? Thinking of doing it myself...where to get those colourful candies and jars?

Attended a wedding recently and think is quite fun for guests to enjoy the buffet before getting seated. :)

Thanks. :)

Hi ladies, I just had my wedding in December and did candy buffet DIY (thanks to my bridesmaids! ). Spent some time sourcing for candies whose colour or wrappers fit our desired colour theme.
I've got 2 jars for sale-- number 3 and 4 (Refer to the attached picture)

The rest [jar types 1 and 2 (2 each) and jars 3 and 4 (1 each)] are up for rentals along with other requests like customisation of ribbons on jars. Feel free to propose your ideas and we'll see if we can try to customise the design to your liking. We can discuss about it too! ;)

Email me at [email protected] me if you're interested. :)
