I finally finished my photoshoot yesterday! Omg, I think I can be counted as one of the lucky ones, yesterday's haze was really much better than Monday or today! Dead tired and I am aching everywhere!

favouredbrides: thanks! I slept a whole 7 hours the night before, was still ok compared to the rest of the team who were really tired, including my fiance. I think the heat and haze did make everyone had a difficult time.

charlove: will be sending it out soon? Perhaps next month? My fiance wanted the 'save the date cards' to be one of our pre-wedding shots so we'll have to wait a bit.

Pretties, do take care and drink loads of water in this heat and haze. Don't fall sick! :)

Lemonzil : I see i see. I'm feeling quite worried too cause my grandmother isn't feeling well these 2 weeks. Praying that she can attend our wedding this Nov .Heard alot about the 100 days or 3 years thing. Just hoping she will be fine :(
Haven't thought of the honeymoon country yet as probably we will wait till cny to go for honeymoon cause that's the only time my hubby gets his one week holiday off by not operating his salon.

Khanompang : Woohoo! Saw ur photos on fb(xiaowei) right? Looks so pretty! Your pg so efficient to send you some photos:) Take good care as you had inhaled lotsa bad air during the photoshoot.

Winkydoll : I know right, all the brides are busy with losing weight hahaha! Gonna prepare to print the cards and probably send out only early Oct so that the guest wouldn't miss it.

beegirl: :) Oh dear. Hope she gets well soon otherwise it's gonna be a sticky situation. The 100 days and 3 yrs can really make situation very tense especially when the elders are mourning. Dont worry too much. Visit her and update her on your wedding... happy thoughts can help in the course of recovery? :)
But travel fares usually peak during CNY.. and gotta book earlier too. Next yr's CNY is btwn Jan and Feb. Can start doing some research? :D

Mrs Yeo: Thanks so much! The anxiety is really kicking in especially we have less than half a year to go. Argghh!

Lemonee: Woo... Maldives is really a beautiful place but I guess we might consider going it next year for our first year anniversary. Might ask you for more information then. Lol.. My HTB has to repaint his room too, now we are packing his room so as to leave more space for me to put my stuff when I move in.. I'm eyeing to clear his bookcase so that he can spare me a space for my dressing table.

Beegirl: I can view the first edited photos next week... So excited! So did you manage to get your AD MUA yet? Btw, can add me in to the FB nov group too? Thanks!

Take special care of your grandma this few weeks as the haze will persist especially for old folks. I'm also worried about my grandmother as the haze is really bad. Keep reminding her to let me know if she feels breathless or unwell.

charlove: Hihi charlove. Welcome to the club! I've not send the save the dates yet.. Might just do it next week. The haze is making me feel so lethargic that I don't really feel like doing anything at the moment. Does anyone else feel the same too?

Lemonzil: At least now you can sit back, relax and share all your experience with us.. :)

Khanompang: I was so worried for you as the haze took a turn for the worse on Monday. But after looking at your photos, I feel that the worries are all unfounded. Your photoshoot is really beautiful and it's so unique. Btw, did you prepare the umbrella or was it part of the props from the studio coz I really it! (now i wonder why did I not think of that?)

hihi winkydoll and chellchell: Welcome to the club!

Hi Bibilow!

Btw, what's the save the date card? Is it necessary?

Maldives is a really beautiful place for honeymoon. Went there during company trip and stayed in Anantara. Great over the water bungalow. It has snorkeling gear in the bathtub and life vest. Just walk down the steps and the fishes are swimming around you. The water is shallow enough to walk to the other island. It is ideal for time together for couple cos besides water activities, there is nothing to do. So it's like a you and me only world.

Bee girl: I'm also looking at cny for honeymoon for the same reason. Though cny not ideal time to travel. Either summer or winter in most countries. But.. What to do..no choice. Thinking of going Central Europe.

Now counting down to wedding date so excited. My photoshoot is next month. So looking forward to it!

beegirl: thanks! Ya, they turn out rather pretty! Lucky for me. PG is simply passionate about his job, hence the immediate posts! :) I guess he loves chalking up 'likes' in his post as well. Adrenaline rush for him! haha. Take good care of yourself and your granny! All will be good - think happy thoughts!

bibilow: yes babe, I was so worried and panicky on Monday as well, luckily the haze died down a bit on Tues morning and we managed some decent shots. Have not seen the evening shots though, I guess those will be more blurry. The umbrella was part of the props from PG. It didn't really look that nice in real life, but the feel it created on photos was magical! Looks can be deceiving!

lemonzil: I'm going to Maldives for my honeymoon too! I heard that the sun's quite strong, need a lot of sunblock, right?

lemonzil

Member
khanompang: Yay!! you'll love it!! yes, the sun is strong weather is more dry but the temp is about the same as sg. :)

Bibilow: That's fast! Mine on looking at edited photos will be on August=xYup i've settled mua for both day&night and 2nd hairdo at SGD430. phew!

winkydoll: I'm not really sure what the save the date cards are but to me, save the date is to inform my friends about my wedding date and get them to save the date. lol! Wow... Maldives sounds really beautiful and I can just imagine those fishes swimming around your feet in those crystal blue water. Awww... Now I'm really tempted to go next year. All the best to your photoshoot next month.. Have you decide where to go for your photoshoot location?

Lemonzil: Now we bridezillas are all waiting for the time where we can heave a sign of relieve and enjoy our honeymoon. So what do you think is the most painful part of the whole wedding? A lot of my married friends told me the most painful part is the seating arrangement and you would still be arranging and rearranging those seats right up to your wedding day.

Khanompang: Your photographer skills seems really top notch so I'm sure your night photos will turn out well too.. So when would you be selecting your photos? Come to think of it, I will get to view my first edited version this weekend. So excited!

Kate-spade: Welcome! Update us on how your photos turn out, k? And not forgetting how much damage you spend on additional photos. Haha!

Beegirl: I've added you on facebook.. Maybe you don't know which one is me.. Will msg you in FB. :)

Beegirl: :) icic, so you wont be going honeymoon soon after your AD i guess? otherwise very limited time for planning!?! Dont worry too much!! Happy thoughts really does help! :)

Bibilow: Yes, Maldives is really beautiful! I'm still missing the place very much every other time. Hmm, for me the most painful part of the whole wedding was the coordinating part with my initial hotel coordinator. and yes, of course the seat planning. Getting the guests to confirm their attendance can also be quite challenging, especially on the relatives side.
what more, I had very tight timeline to plan everything so, the weight loss was also extremely stressful!!!

The stress level just keeps mounting as the day draws nearer lor. My VG then was also giving me some hiccups. I was so stressed that my menses got delayed not in a good way. :(

On the AD itself, it's really not for us to do anything much already. leave it to your helpers and coordinators. they will help you run the show and before you know it, the entire day is over...

lemonzil: sure! Will pack loads of sunblock there, I don't want to come back looking like the husband got another wife!

beegirl: actually I think I'll end up choosing those that I look chio in. Haha, because my photographer will return every photograph to us, only a selection are the edited versions, so I told the fiance, the rest I'll up my skills on photoshop and edit them. He trusts me though :)

bibilow: Yay! I hope those turn out fantastic! Keep me updated of your pictures! Me feel all excited for everyone with the photos selections. I think its the one most excited thing every bride looks forward to. I guess I should say my PG's photoshop's skill is top notch. Actually, in one of the photos, the sun wasn't there, it was photoshopped in but look quite real, all thanks to the haze (has its benefits afterall!)

kate_spade: hope you will have a fun time selecting your photos! remember to keep the damage under control! :)

winkydoll: if the haze clears up, i think the cityscape skyline would be a nice view of buildings. Don't worry too much about the haze, my PS had haze too. PG told us 'haze can create special effects' which he did really manage to! yes, rest well, I slept a good 7 hours the night before, so I managed to stay fresh and alert because the running about can be draining! Most importantly, make sure you feel happy and just smile (ok, check that your PG doesn't capture awkward angles of the arms, i've seen 'bye bye arms' on a lot of photos so much so that I totally freaked out and went to do biceps/triceps toning before PS. No need to actually, just ensure, no awkward angles!) HAVE LOADS OF FUN!

Haven't been around recently because I was overseas and then fell very sick after that :( Happy to see that the thread is still alive!

xpicks: What’s your budget for the videographer? Coz apparently my videographer is quite ex compared to some other videographer but I chose him coz he did my sis’s wedding and I was quite comfortable with him.

lemonzil: Lol! I totally agree with you. I was quite frustrated with my hotel coordinator..So now am just hoping my AD will turn out well. Anyway how did you hotel coordinator fare on the actual day?

winkydoll: I'm sorry I replied too late. Guess you had your local shoot already. So where did you chose? I did mine at Botanical Gardens and Gardens by the bay.

khanompang: Now it's the editing part and I'm having a headache over it. Not sure how to go about doing it coz the photos seems not too bad but I’m afraid it may look different on the photo album if I chose not to do any editing. Any idea what should I do?
Please take care! Hope you are feeling better now. School starts next week so are you ready for your new semester?

Beegirl: Thanks for adding me to the group. Am busy with my work these few days so have no time to chat inside. Hope can contribute when I'm less busy next month.

Hi all,

I'm a 2 nov bride too! Didn't realise there'll be so many of us.. haha.. I'll be having my PS soon but haven't lost weight! :( Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get nu bra? I'm running out of time asI haven't bought my casual outfit or shoes yet :(

bibilow: i'm so not ready, supposed to be on medical leave still but I think I'll just go to work. Bad case of food poisoning, the fiance said I am losing more and more weight. All natural. Hahaha... What kind of editing? As in photoshopping? I guess still need to do a fair bit because of the lighting and stuff, sometimes, the lighting and shadows are not at the right places, and the mood of the picture can really drastically change. What did your PG suggest?

Dotzy: Wow! another 2 Nov bride! :) You can get nu bra at Delfi Orchard 2nd level, I got mine there but I think I'll need another one, the stickiness loses itself quite fast (or am I that dirty? Haha). Alternatively, my friend suggested Takashimaya or Robinsons, this brand call Flaunt it. Hope this helps! No need to worry about weight loss too much, just go and be happy! You won't look too nice being too skinny, my photos turned out with me looking a tad too thin, too bony.

oh, it was about 2-3 weeks before my AD she was still not responding well enough and gotten some stuff wrong. e.g. one of the cold dish was not correct when we went for food tasting. I exploded, called in up and down the whole hotel to change her away. ended up, the operations team took over and they ran the show extremely well. Good thing i manage to read up about the reviews of the ops team so i requested for guy.

As for the coordinator, I totally didnt get to see her only until after my AD when i was having lunch in the hotel. she came by to congratulate us but didn't even bother to apologise...

So, which brand nubra is the best and how long does it last? My wedding gown is backless and I'll need that! =)

i think it depends on individual? I went to buy the silicon type but it didnt stick well as i sweat quite a lot. it almost dropped even before i reach my BS for PS!!! ended up i went to the Nubra shop at delfi orchard to buy. Guess what, it stuck all the way well there! not easy to remove somemore!

lemonzil

Member
rabber: i bought the seamless underwire one. plus the prep wipe (make the stick lasting cos i sweat alot) and cleaner for the nubra. cos me about 100 plus.

lemonzil

Member
i read some other BTBs have no problem with other brands' nubra. but it doesnt work for me luh. so i rather spend more for something secure. i almost suffered from waldrobe malfunction wearing the silicon one!

rabber

Member
Hahaha.. that is my fear and my fiance thinks I am ridiculous. I tried wearing my normal nubra to the BS to try on my gown and it was fine. But feel so insecure without any support holding it. And on the day itself, I don't want my sweat to make it pop!

I'll need to wear in the am and also for dinner so I'll need 2 sets just in case.

khanompang

Member
lemonzil: does the seamless underwire one work well? like pushup effect or support? my silicon nubra doesn't work well for that although it is said to have push up effect.

rabber: nubra should be able to last for many wears but i think it depends on individual. After a few wears, my adhesive lining started to wear off at the sides, the centre is still ok. So I am contemplating of getting a new one (be safe than be sorry). If you want to feel more secure and you can afford the space, tape medical surgical tape at the sides of the nubra. That was what I did for my photoshoot. Stuck on very well coupled with the wipes from the shop. I had even some difficulty pulling it off, but since it was medical surgical tape, wetting it or gently and slowly tugging will do. Don't try other tapes, i had a friend whose sister tore off her skin using other tapes. Hope this helps!
