Phi Phi Island

Boat with wreathRows of boat waiting for passengers. We found out that the wreath around the bow were made by their wives for good luck and safety of the boatmen.

After agreeing with the boatman on the price, the next few days we went island hoping and snorkeling. It was the highlight of the trip. It was a tiring but a fulfilling affair. Almost every morning, we left after breakfast and would return only at sunset. There were so many islets that I lost count. Some of the islets have odd shapes while others have some treasures or history attached to it. There are caves with birds nest waiting to be extracted and some with ancient drawings.

'Monkey Island''Monkey Island' - You guessed it! Lots of monkeys on the island. There were many stalls that sold fruits for visitors to feed the monkeys. The monkeys were so accustomed to humans that they would walk right up to you and grab the food off your hands.

'Chicken' IslandThey call this 'Chicken Island'. One look and you will know why.
