Abigail and Brendan’s Enchanted Meadow Church Wedding

Abigail and Brendan celebrated their union in an enchanted meadow themed wedding at the church they met at and grew up in, surrounded by their family and friends.
Abigail Hung, 26, Teacher, and Brendan Goh, 26, Civil Engineer were childhood sweethearts who met and grew up in the same church, Wilkie Terrace Christian Assembly. They were close friends who never saw each other romantically, but it was written in the stars that the pair were meant for one another. After an intimate and romantic proposal, Abigail and Brendan decided to take their relationship to the next step, and tied the knot in the place that brought them together, with their family and friends in attendance to witness their union.
What drew you to each other?
Abigail: I was drawn to how much we could connect to each other as friends. I loved how much fun we had together and I found myself smiling and laughing whenever I was with him.
What is it about your partner that you love the most?
Brendan: Abigail has always been my close friend and I tell her everything. She listens to what I have to share and I can trust her with the thoughts that are deepest in my heart.
What was the proposal like?
Abigail: It was very unexpected, but romantic. We were walking at Coney Island and taking photos at the same time. When We arrived at a photo spot when he suddenly asked me to turn around and not look while he sets up the camera. By then, I knew something was up. When I turned back around, he walked over to me, knelt down on one knee and proposed. I said “Yes”! The whole spectacle was recorded on camera only for our eyes to see.
Tell us about your wedding. What was the day like?
We had our wedding in our church. It was where we grew up and it felt like the perfect location. We opted for an enchanted meadow theme for our big day. I wanted the aisle and the location of the church to be filled with shrubs, plants and flowers for that enchanted meadow vibe. For my dress, I went for a romantic off-shoulder, A-line wedding dress to match the field of flowers that made up our wedding decoration.
On the day of our wedding, we were very overwhelmed with emotions to see all the people we love coming together to celebrate the day with us. We spent the day having fun and chilling with our family and friends, who had a blast and loved the food, decorations and drinks.
Share with us the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Abigail: The most memorable moment of my wedding was when I was walking down the aisle and saw Brendan at the front.
What is one lesson you’ve learned from your wedding planning that you’d like to share with other couples?
Both: Just relax and go with the flow! Try not to hold on to too many expectations.
