Tina Yong and Alfred Tran’s Intimate Rooftop Wedding in Orchard, Singapore
Beauty and lifestyle YouTuber Tina Yong got married to her love Alfred Tran in Singapore, in an intimate rooftop wedding filled with ethereal white florals.
Tina Yong, 31, Content Creator, and Alfred Tran, 38, Chief Financial Officer, met in Sydney and moved to Singapore two years into their relationship. After a surprise proposal overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the couple exchanged their vows in an intimate rooftop ceremony in Singapore on 13 November 2021, and welcomed their baby girl in April 2022!
How did you first meet?
Tina: We met in April 2016 through mutual friends at a Sydney nightclub. Yup, we met the old school way, in person, not through a dating app. The connection was instant, and you could say it was love at first sight. I was immediately attracted to Alfred’s charm, plus his height was a bonus. We both had similar life experiences. We both have previously been married and divorced, so we understood each other. Since that day, we’ve been inseparable.
What do you love most about your partner? What made you fall in love with your partner?
Tina: What I love most about Alfred is how supportive and sweet he is. After a few months of dating, my work got really busy, and he decided to leave his job to help me grow my business and pursue my passion. That’s a huge deal, and not many guys would be willing to do that, so I always feel so grateful to have such a wonderful partner.
What was the proposal like?
Tina: It was a massive surprise to me. I thought I was going to a brand event in Sydney with my talent manager at a fancy hotel, but when I arrived and opened the door, I was greeted with a trail of flowers, white balloons, and candles leading to a balcony overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Before me were big, lit-up words reading “Will you marry me,” and there stood Alfred, holding my little dog Koko in his arms. He went above and beyond. It was the most perfect proposal ever!
Why did you decide to get married in Singapore?
Tina: Singapore has a sweet spot in our hearts. We moved here four years ago, and most of our relationship was spent here. It’s become our second home, so it felt right to get married here.
What was your wedding theme?
Tina: I didn’t have a specific theme in mind, but I wanted a nice, intimate ceremony outdoors, with lots of white flowers. Liz Florals did a great job making my idea come to life. The flowers added a magical touch to our wedding, and I love that it looks romantic yet timeless.
What was your wedding day like?
Our wedding day was very relaxed and chill. We got married at our friend’s place in Orchard, on the rooftop overlooking the city. Our ceremony was lovely and intimate with our nearest and dearest. We were very fortunate that day because it stopped raining right before our ceremony, and we were able to capture nice photos and videos.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Exchanging vows was the most memorable moment. We had both written our own vows, so it was very touching to hear our promises to each other.
How do you feel about your next chapter as newlyweds and parents?
We’re really excited about our next chapter in life together. We’re more in love than ever and can’t wait to welcome our baby into this world. We know that being parents will be challenging, but we’ll be okay as long as we have each other.
