Ee Xuan and Isaac’s Splendid Wedding at Hilton Singapore
It was the perfect opportunity for Ee Xuan and Isaac to travel across the world to gorgeous Barcelona for their pre-wedding shoot when Isaac received news of his upcoming work trip there. The love birds came home with many memories and photos to share at their splendid wedding at Hilton Singapore.
After their romantic engagement, Ee Xuan and Isaac whisked away to the beautiful and colourful Barcelona for their pre-wedding shoot to capture their love and their memories. They later celebrate their union with family, friends, and their furball Fifi at Hilton Singapore with a splendid and grand occasion!
What made you fall for each other?
Ee Xuan: I honestly don’t know. I wouldn’t say that it was love at first sight but he is a sincere and kind man, someone I would want to spend the rest of my life with. We are very similar in many ways. I love that he takes care of his family and he dotes and loves me too.
Isaac: She is a virtuous and caring lady who loves family and pets. She can cook and most importantly, we have a lot of similarities when it comes to our favourite food choices.
What was the proposal like?
Ee Xuan: I was lured to the proposal venue by my friend, Cheryl, who owns The Design Closets. She told me that she wanted me to model some new designs at East Coast Park so she made me wear a pretty dress and she escorted me to the pavilion, which was set up with the sea as a backdrop and with fairy lights!
Where did you go for your pre-wedding shoot, and why did you choose that location?
Ee Xuan: Isaac was to go for a work trip to Barcelona, which was a new destination for me, so he asked me to tag along. We booked the tickets immediately! It was an impromptu decision and we decided to have our pre-wedding shoot done there as well! We booked our photographers for the two shoots: the first was from Sweet Escape, and I found the other photographer, Svetlana Dubovenko, from my online research. I loved her work so I decided to book her too!
Walk us through your pre-wedding shoot. What was it like that day and did you have fun?
Ee Xuan: It was definitely fun because I’d not done a photoshoot with him before. He found it tiring but we both loved the end result.
Share with us any obstacles or funny moments you’ve encountered during the shoot.
Ee Xuan: We are very in sync when it comes to our vision for the photoshoot. The chemistry between us was there, and the photographer actually kindly gave us most of the shots even though the initial agreement was just 50 photos. She said that the shots were nice and we made her job really easy so she decided to give us most of the photos eventually!
If you could share three pieces of advice about pre-wedding shoots with couples who will be embarking on theirs, what would it be?
Ee Xuan: Work within your budget. If you can, do your own makeup if it is an overseas shoot. I did my own hair and makeup with only a few months of practice. Most importantly, have fun!
What was your wedding theme, and how did you go about creating it?
Ee Xuan: We didn’t have a wedding theme, but the main reason we chose Hilton Singapore was because my dog, Fifi, was allowed to walk down the aisle with me. Our wedding coordinators, June and Wai Ling, were excellent too. They helped us so much during the process and we didn’t feel stressed at all. We are both very thankful for them!
Tell us about your gowns from Divine Couture. Why did you choose them, and how was it like working with Divine Couture?
Ee Xuan: Kim is a genius! We have the same taste when it comes to gown designs. I have always envisioned a type of gown that I like. I’m not into Korean styles and I am more into the Western kind of looks so her gowns were perfect for me! One thing that I found to be the most important when it comes to wedding gowns is the material used. It has to be comfortable to wear and easy to walk in.
What was your actual wedding day like?
Ee Xuan: It was honestly a very busy day for us as we had a luncheon first. We were pressed for time with our solemnisation and the tea ceremony was done on the same day too, but it was satisfying at the end of the day.
As mentioned, June and Wai Ling from Hilton Singapore made the wedding so successful. They helped to settle all the various hiccups on the day quickly and that is why I feel it is so important to have a responsible and experienced wedding coordinator.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Ee Xuan: The after-party! Our friends stayed till late in the night and we had so much fun though it was exhausting. We had to rush off the next day for our mini honeymoon in Perth.
