Renee and Han’s Exquisite Wine Red Wedding at Marina Bay Sands Singapore
Since their first meeting through a mutual friend, Renee and Han’s relationship has come a long way. They celebrate their union with a big-scale affair at Marina Bay Sands Hotel Singapore.
For Renee and Han who had met through a mutual friend, their love took off when both were there for each other in the other’s lowest and toughest times. After their proposal in San Francisco, the duo began planning for their wedding at Marina Bay Sands Hotel Singapore and captured the beautiful moments of their burgundy red wedding with the help of WithMinn Photography.
Share with us your story. How did it all begin?
Han: We met through a mutual friend. What drew me to her was her bubbly nature and I love how she has the ability to make me laugh, turning any bad day to a good and happy one. There was no specific moment when I knew that she was the one. It happened over a period of time for me. I was in a difficult period of life then and she was there supporting me unconditionally.
Renee: I fell in love with Han’s wit and sense of humour. He also has a lot of patience, and he’s filial to his family and kind to others around him. Unlike Han, I had a specific moment when I knew he was the one. It was when I was at the lowest point in my career. I remember very vividly that he was there to support me emotionally and it was something I truly appreciated.
What was the proposal like?
Renee: It happened during the San Francisco leg of our US trip. We wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge so Han found a spot where we could have a full view of the bridge without any blockages. While admiring the view, he got down on one knee and proposed!
What was the wedding planning journey like?
Renee: We were quite clear on how we divided the work and preparation for the wedding. Han would do the overall operational coordination while I worked on the overall aesthetics and feel of the wedding. My favourite part, however, was trying all the different types of gowns!
Han: The most challenging part for us was managing the guest list and RSVPs. Halfway through our planning, we had to upgrade to a bigger ballroom as the initial one could not accommodate the number of guests we’d decided to invite. Up till one week before the wedding itself, we were still changing the number of tables!
What was the experience like working with WithMinn Photography?
Both: Communication with WithMinn Photography was very prompt. Their coordinators were also very detailed throughout the entire wedding planning process. On the front end, the photographer and stylist were also experienced and accommodating to our last minute requests.
Where did you hold your wedding at and why did you choose it?
Both: We chose to hold our wedding at Marina Bay Sands Singapore because we love their square-shaped ballroom. We like how accessible it is by public transport and it also has ample of carpark spaces, so we need not worry about how our guests would arrive and get to the location.
What was your wedding day like? How did you feel throughout the day?
Both: It was very tiring! We can definitely say that after all the planning, it does feel amazing that everything turned out well and that everyone could celebrate this joyous occasion with us. The theme for our wedding was decided based on Renee’s favourite colour and flower, which are burgundy red and roses.
Share with us the most memorable moment of your wedding.
Both: Our first entrance where we had a sword barrier ceremony!
What is one piece of advice you’d like to share with other couple who are also in the midst of planning their wedding?
Both: Both bride and groom need to have a common expectation of the wedding in terms of budget, aesthetics, size, and mood right from the beginning. This is because the rest of the plan will be anchored on this shared expectation and direction.
