Chloe Choo and Tan Choon Yan’s Cool, Urban Pre-Wedding Shoot
Chloe Choo and Choon Yan documented their love under pre-dawn street lamps, in misty fields, and atop rooftops in the heart of the city.
Chloe Phoebe Asher Choo, 26, Creative Maniac, and Tan Choon Yan, 29, wanted a pre-wedding shoot that reflected their eclectic style and individualistic vibes. The couple took a surreal set of photographs at a field near Chloe’s house at dawn, commemorating the many times they watched the sunrise on the way back home from all-nighter parties.
How did you two meet?
We were officially introduced to each other through a mutual friend; there was a little spark of attraction and constant flirtatious eye contact when we met. With a little help from our families and friends and our sheer determination to stay together, we finally got to this final stage.
What do you love most about your partner?
Chloe: I love how we are like the same person in two different bodies. How he accepts my level of crazy and how he complements it. There wasn’t anything in particular that made me fall in love with him, I just did.
Choon Yan: I love the way she loves me and tries to understand every possible perspective in all scenarios.
What was the proposal like?
Chloe: Impromptu but very well thought out!
Where did you go for your shoot?
Chloe: For our shoot, we went to the field just outside my house, because whenever we rode back from our parties at dawn, I would witness the sunrise across the plain field and think to myself, “What a beautiful sight that we take for granted every day.” We were really, really lucky to have shot there because on the very day of our shoot, construction workers put up full-length metal barricades to seal the open field off.
We shot our second look on the rooftop of the building opposite Bridefully Yours’ office. It was during our first visit to their office space that I spotted the rooftop. We went to do a brief site recce after our first bridal gown fitting and we settled on that.
Tell us about your shoot.
Chloe: It was a breeze working with Bridefully Yours and Pixioo, the photography house that did the shoot for us. There were no restrictions and we were basically really comfortable and true to our own vibes. We aren’t really capable of looking a certain way when the feeling doesn’t come from within, so it meant the world to us when our candid moments were caught. We are just thankful we didn’t look too unpleasant in our candid shots.
