Celestial, Ethereal’s Latest 2019/20 Bridal Collection

Be enthralled by Ethereal’s latest bridal collection, Celestial, and let these whimsical dresses take you on a magical journey.

Established in 2016, Ethereal is a bridal and couture label known for their romantic bridal gowns and statement kimono cheongsams. Their latest 2019/20 bridal collection, Celestial, is no different. Featuring an alluring line-up of eight exquisitely dreamy and airy silhouettes, Celestial is a collection for all the die-hard romantic brides out there.

Housed in one of Singapore’s oldest heritage building Caldwell House, Ethereal is owned by Watabe Wedding, one of Japan’s leading bridal company and official venue operator for Chijmes Hall and Alcove at Caldwell House. The spacious and well-lit boutique is a delight to visit as racks of enchanting gowns and luxurious furnishings welcome you into the space as you browse around for the gown of your dreams.

Inspired by a time where magic lived and stars in the night sky told a hundred tales, Celestial reminds us of the charming myths and alluring romances of the past. Named after Greek goddesses and muses, the gowns featured in Celestial aims to bring out the unique grace and elegance of a modern bride.

For a dress that is out rightly romantic, dreamy and fairytale-like, Theia, is the one to go for. Named after the Greek goddess of sight and shining light, Theia is an off-the-shoulder A-line gown with satin ribbon ties, a fitted lace bodice, soft tulle ruffles and a flowing chiffon-lined skirt. Equally as enchanting, Calliope, named after the goddess of beauty and love, and one of the nine muses in Greek mythology, is a modern take on the classic ballgown with a rose gold lace embroidered bustier, corset lined back and a sleek tulle skirt extending from a cinched-in waist.

Brides who prefer romance with a hint of modernity will love Eira and Lyra. Meaning “snow” in Welsh, Eira is a modern two-piece ensemble made up of a silk satin cowl necked column dress and a pure white detachable tulle skirt that resembles the freshly fallen snow in Winter. Wear it with the detachable tulle skirt for a modern yet whimsical look, or don the silk satin column dress on its own and pair it with an elegant veil like Astra for a clean and elegant vibe.

Named after the constellation that was named after the lyre Orpheus used to rescue his true love, Eurydice, Lyra is a trumpet gown with an asymmetrically ruched bodice, sparkling embroidered shoulder straps and a glittering detachable skirt.

Celestial also features two alluring numbers with long sleeves for brides who prefer a little more coverage for their dresses. Thalia, the name of one of the nine muses in Greek mythology, is an exquisite piece with floral lace blooming across a fitted bodice and sleeves. This classic beauty is universally flattering with it’s A-line silhouette, scoop neckline and soft chiffon skirt, making it the perfect choice for an elegantly romantic gown that will withstand the test of time. Latin for “heavenly”, Celestia is a trumpet gown with dramatic floor-sweeping lace sleeves that are detachable. Lined with light-catching iridescent lace, this pretty creation is bound to dazzle both you and your guests.

It’s not difficult to fall in love with one (or more!) dresses in Ethereal’s latest 2019/20 bridal collection, Celestial, especially if you are a die-hard romantic bride who loves all things whimsical and dreamy. But if I had to pick, I would say Theia is my favourite from this collection. I simply love the romantic off-shoulder look with soft, fluffy tulle and romantic lace that is oh-so-feminine and dreamy.
