Shafizah and Ceesvin’s Beautiful White and Lavender Wedding in a Park
To celebrate eight years together, Shafizah and Ceesvin held a beautiful white wedding in a park, filled with poignant traditional ceremonies and modern touches.
Shafizah Ahmad, 27, Marketing Executive and Ceesvin Abraham, 28, Sales Executive waited for eight years to get married, and they celebrated the joyous occasion on 6 May 2017 with the blessings of close family and friends in a white and lavender wedding, with a beautiful traditional solemnisation, and a modern reception with fantastic Malay food!
How did you two meet?
Ceesvin: We met through a mutual friend during polytechnic in June 2009.
What’s one of the things you love most about your partner?
Shafizah: Our shared taste in music, and his sense of humour. He is fearless and simply doesn’t have the capacity to worry about anything, which is the total opposite of me.
Ceesvin: She has always been my pillar of strength throughout this relationship and her positivity never stops me from believing in myself.
What was the proposal like?
Shafizah: It was simple, sweet, and unexpected. He proposed at the same place where he told me he loves me and wants us to be together.
What was your wedding like?
Shafizah: We wanted a simple wedding where we could celebrate our joyous occasion together with our friends and family. Most of our friends had not experienced a traditional Malay wedding before, so we had a simple kompang performance as well as amazing Malay wedding food to feast on! We wanted a white outdoor wedding, so the décor was very white with greenery to compliment the whole look.
Ceesvin: We had the solemnisation and wedding reception all on the same day and at same venue. The solemnisation started at 10am and the wedding reception started at 12pm. We then held the Malay traditional ceremony, followed by a modern wedding reception from 4pm to 6pm. Everyone loved the food. Even till today, our guests still raved about our wedding food.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Shafizah: It was definitely the solemnisation. It was very intimate, and witnessed by our close family and friends. We waited eight years to be married and it finally happened! It was such a surreal feeling.
