A Gastronomic Journey at the Bib Gourmand Rated Peony Jade at Keppel Club

We were invited to Peony Jade at Keppel Club, a Bib Gourmand rated restaurant famous for their delicious and innovative Cantonese cuisine.

Situated at Singapore’s oldest golf and social club, Peony Jade at Keppel Club is Peony Jade Restaurant’s second outlet following the opening of its first restaurant in Clarke Quay in 2004. Known and recognised for its quality and signature Szechuan and Cantonese dishes, we were more than thrilled to be invited to the two-time Bib Gourmand awarded Peony Jade restaurant at Keppel Club for a taste of Michelin approved cuisine.

A Versatile Wedding Venue

Located just a five minutes drive away from VivoCity and near Harbourfront and Labrador Park MRT stations, the quaintly tucked away Peony Jade at Keppel Club offers an exclusive dining and wedding experience like no other. A red carpeted stairway leads the way up to the award-winning restaurant where a pillarless dining room with generous floor space and contemporary Chinese décor awaits. Open to the public, the restaurant can be exclusively reserved for weddings with a minimum booking of 180 guests.

For an alfresco wedding celebration with a scenic view of the South China Sea, couples can choose to hold their wedding at the Berlayer Terrace. Celebrate your once-in-a-lifetime at the spacious open-air and sheltered venue with Peony Jade’s two brand new wedding packages for celebrations at the Berlayer Terrace, Sail with Love and Perfect Breeze, and treat your guests to an unforgettable time. For bigger celebrations, the cavernous Keppel Hall is the perfect spot for a large party up to 400 guests.

Michelin Grade Cantonese Cuisine

For the second consecutive year, Peony Jade at Keppel Club has been awarded the Bib Gourmand award in Singapore’s Michelin Guide, an award bestowed on restaurants and eateries that offer a high-quality menu at a reasonable price. We were excited to savour their Michelin approved cuisine by the restaurant’s talented Executive Chef Ricky Liew, and once we did, it was not difficult to see why the restaurant was awarded for the second time in 2017.

We had the pleasure of sampling some of the restaurant’s signature wedding dishes, such as the double boiled conch and scallop soup, prawns coated in wasabi mayonnaise and salted egg yolk, roasted duck and handmade flower buns, chilled mango sago with pomelo and yam paste with ginko nuts and pumpkin. The soup, a staple dish in every Cantonese household, was full of flavour and boiled to perfection, while the prawns were succulent and generously coated in tangy and rich, savoury sauces.

The subtle sweetness in the handmade flower buns that accompanied the roasted duck dish surprised and delighted me so much that I couldn’t help but return for seconds. While every dish was a gastronomic delight on our taste buds, the dish that stole my heart was without question the yam paste. Paired with golden yellow gingko nuts and sweet pumpkin bits, the yam paste was light yet substantial, perfectly moistened and sweetened with the right amount of oil and sugar – just the way I like the dessert to be.

Peony Jade at Clarke Quay

Situated along the Singapore river and near the Registry of Marriage, Peony Jade Restaurant’s first outlet in the heart of lively Clarke Quay is the perfect venue for couples who prefer a more central location for their wedding. Like its Keppel Club counterpart, Peony Jade at Clarke Quay boasts a red carpeted stairway to welcome guests up to the spacious and pillarless restaurant, and is available for exclusive use with a minimum booking of 180 guests.

Weddings at Peony Jade

Weddings at Peony Jade are designed with the convenience of a modern couple in mind. The restaurant offers all inclusive wedding packages that come with a choice of wedding theme, use of their bridal changing room, wedding favours, complimentary tea ceremony set-up and use of the restaurant’s wedding tea sets, as well as fresh microbrewery beer from The Pump Room, subject to availability. Peony Jade also partners with Conrad Centennial Singapore to provide couples with the option of securing a bridal suite for the wedding or for their use within six months of the wedding, with the additional perk of a breakfast buffet for two and early check-in and late check-out.

For couples who are fans of Peony Jade’s famed cuisine but wish to have their wedding outside of the brand’s two restaurants, Peony Jade Restaurant has introduced a new catering arm, Peony Jade Catering, to offer them the flexibility of celebrating their once-in-a-lifetime off-site while enjoying the restaurant’s signature good food.
