Deborah and Nicholas’ Rustic Wedding at Pan Pacific Singapore

Deborah and Nicholas exchanged tearful vows at their emotional wedding at Pan Pacific Singapore.

Deborah Yeo, 27, Healthcare Professional and Nicholas Ng, 35, Senior Account Manager met at a photo shoot for an advertising campaign five years ago. Going the conventional route, Nicholas sought Deborah’s parents’ blessing before proposing, and a very surprised Deborah said, “Yes!” The couple exchanged tearful vows on
2 July 2016 in a green and white rustic wedding at Pan Pacific Singapore.

What drew you to each other?

Nicholas: I can’t deny that it was her beauty that drew me to her, but after getting to know her, I love how her inner beauty shines from within, and that made me fall in love with her even more. She always puts a smile on my face and warms my soul. I love how we are so comfortable with each other and her presence is enough to make my day.

Deborah: There are many things I wish I could say but Nick is definitely the most dependable person I’ve ever known. He loves me for who I am and supports me in everything that I wish to pursue. He also makes me feel protected and safe. Most importantly, we can be ourselves when we are together.

What was the proposal like?

Deborah: The proposal in August 2015 came as a huge surprise because he went the conventional way of seeking my parents’ blessing and we only found a house after getting married a year later. The proposal was simple, yet sweet and memorable. He drove us to the place where we had our first kiss, up a hill, under beautiful and magical fairy lights. We were laughing, taking photos, and reliving the moments where we shared our first kiss. I did not suspect that he was planning something; it was only when he led me to the exact same spot where we kissed that I started to feel that something is about to happen and that it will change my life forever. So he popped the question, I said, “yes” to forever, and we both burst into tears of joy and we then shared a quiet and intimate moment with God.

Can you describe what you wanted for your wedding and how you created it?

Deborah: We both agreed that we wanted a simple, intimate holy matrimony in a hotel. We first did a lot of research on Pinterest for ideas for the decoration, bridal gowns, etc., and searched for hotels that were well known for their food—because it was important to us that our guests leave our wedding feeling loved and well satisfied with the food. We also selected our individual vendors pretty quickly because they were contacts of mine. They were all amazing and skilled in their own ways—from Antelopestudios, who captured the essence of our sincere and heartfelt emotions that day, to skilled makeup artist Tangyong Makeup to my beautiful made-to-measure bridal gown from Whitelink Bridal and the amazing rustic decorations from Wedding en Vogue. After months of throwing out ideas, sharing inspiration, they exceeded my expectations and we received so many compliments for the beautiful wedding set up.

Nicholas: Both of us were fully involved in planning every detail, making compromises, and respecting each other’s decisions in having the dream wedding that we had always wanted. “The greatest marriages are built on teamwork. A mutual respect, a healthy dose of admiration, and a never-ending portion of love and grace.”

What was your wedding day like?

Deborah: On our wedding day, 2nd July 2016, the day started really early, with makeup at 3am. We made do without the gatecrash as we preferred to keep it simple. Still, it was an amazing time because I got to spend some quiet and precious moments with my parents before Nick came by to fetch me to his place. Our solemnisation was conducted by our church pastor during our banquet lunch.

It was definitely a grace-filled and heartwarming day. Till today I look back at the photos and videos and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Throughout the wedding, we were able to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about timing, food, decorations, or seating arrangements because Nick’s sister, our cousins, and friends did such a great job in coordinating everything. And of course, my hubby, who took the role of an emcee and a groom, made it easy and effortless because he is just so talented and amazing.

I remember that I couldn’t hold back my tears from the moment we had the tea ceremony till my dad handed me over to Nick. And even then, when we celebrated our holy matrimony, we both were overwhelmed with emotions of joy and happiness. It was truly a day where we felt God’s presence so strong in our lives as we become one and it definitely brought tears of happiness to many of our guests who witnessed our love for each other.

Our photographer told us that it was definitely one of the most touching weddings they’ve been to. Our friends enjoyed themselves and even told us that it was one of the best weddings they have attended, and the food tasted exceptionally good that day.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

Nicholas: We both have to agree that reciting our vowswith conviction, love, and sincerity towards each other in the presence of God, our family, and friends would be the most memorable part of our wedding.
