Designer Feature: Sareh Nouri Fall 2016
Sareh Nouri introduced her Fall 2016 collection at The London Hotel in NYC, pulling elements and inspiration from her Persian heritage with dreamy and romantic gowns that has become her signature look.
Persian history is one that is rich in art that is defined by extremely detailed designs and patterns visualised in its colourful mosaics, paintings and intricate weaving. Sareh Nouri selected and designed fabrics, laces and patterns that that are reminiscent of an ancient, yet modern artistic culture.Strapless ball gown with embroidered lace, a sweetheart neck line and cathedral length train Trumpet silk faille gown with a sweetheart neck line, architectual detailing and cathedral length train Off the shoulder A line gown with Chantilly lace layered on Alencon lace that includes Swarovski crystals and features a sweetheart neck line, low V back and cathedral length train Soft mermaid gown with Chantilly re-embroidered lace and blush underlay Trumpet gown featuring delicate Chantilly lace, off the shoulder with a cathedral length train Strapless French Alencon lace, fitted mermaid gown with a sweetheart neck line and low illusion back, featuring layers of tulle and horse hair with a chapel length train Long sleeved silk faille ball gown with a deep V neck line, low V back with Sophie Hallette lace and a Guipure lace border Soft trumpet gown with a re-embroidered lace featuring a high neck line, low V back and a cathedral length train
I love the mix of ultra-detailed lace and clean structured gowns in this collection. From the layering of sophisticated laces to the long dramatic trains, each dress in the Fall 2016 collection lends itself to detail, intricacy and is romanticised with the use of long lace sleeves, dramatically detailed backs and elegant embellishments. The gowns are also light-weight and feel ultra-luxurious, each with deliberate structure and fit, as seen in the built-in bustiers, entirely hand-sewn in the United States.Soft trumpet gown made with Chantilly lace layered with an embroidered lace, featuring a strapless sweetheart neck line, low illusion back and crystal buttons Trumpet gown with a re-embroidered embellished lace, featuring a sweetheart illusion neck line, low V back and cathedral length train Soft trumpet gown made with Sophie Hallette lace featuring off the shoulder cap sleeves and cathedral length train Drop waist coat dress made of silk faille, featuring a double Duchess satin tuxedo flap accented with Sophie Hallette lace, double corset and a chapel length train with box pleats Silk wool ball gown, featuring a detailed sweetheart neck line, cathedral length train and Swarovski crystal buttons Soft trumpet gown made with embroidered lace with sequin embellishments Designer Sareh Nouri preparing a model
Every season, Sareh Nouri surprises with at least one coloured gown in her collection, and this time, it was Yasmine, a soft blue silk wool ball gown. A great option for brides who don’t want a white gown! My favourite gown, though, has got to be Artemis, the silk faille gown with a trumpet skirt, because of its flattering architectural detailing.
Sareh Nouri’s exquisite Fall 2016 collection captures the essence of chic luxury inspired by traditional design, directly reflecting the designer herself and her beautiful Persian heritage. Looking forward to the next collection!
