Designer Feature: Sareh Nouri Fall 2016

Sareh Nouri introduced her Fall 2016 collection at The London Hotel in NYC, pulling elements and inspiration from her Persian heritage with dreamy and romantic gowns that has become her signature look.

Persian history is one that is rich in art that is defined by extremely detailed designs and patterns visualised in its colourful mosaics, paintings and intricate weaving. Sareh Nouri selected and designed fabrics, laces and patterns that that are reminiscent of an ancient, yet modern artistic culture.

I love the mix of ultra-detailed lace and clean structured gowns in this collection. From the layering of sophisticated laces to the long dramatic trains, each dress in the Fall 2016 collection lends itself to detail, intricacy and is romanticised with the use of long lace sleeves, dramatically detailed backs and elegant embellishments. The gowns are also light-weight and feel ultra-luxurious, each with deliberate structure and fit, as seen in the built-in bustiers, entirely hand-sewn in the United States.

Every season, Sareh Nouri surprises with at least one coloured gown in her collection, and this time, it was Yasmine, a soft blue silk wool ball gown. A great option for brides who don’t want a white gown! My favourite gown, though, has got to be Artemis, the silk faille gown with a trumpet skirt, because of its flattering architectural detailing.

Sareh Nouri’s exquisite Fall 2016 collection captures the essence of chic luxury inspired by traditional design, directly reflecting the designer herself and her beautiful Persian heritage. Looking forward to the next collection!
