Wedding Tablescapes at Lewin Terrace: Ornate

You’ve seen our Rustic Romantic and Kate Spade inspired wedding tablescapes at Lewin Terrace, splendidly put together by Med Karlek, featuring charming and intricate props and accents from Styled Story, Bells and Birds, and Taylor B Design Group, flowers by  Hua Hee, beautifully captured by Multifolds Photography. Now, be seduced by our third tablescape instalment, an opulent Ornate wedding set-up.

Winter weddings in the grand ballroom of an old stately mansion, with warm lighting and ornate furnishings come to mind when I think about an ornate wedding set-up. Opulent, luxurious and mysterious, with a darker-than-usual colour palette of deep reds, blues and greens against splashes of vintage gold and nuances of cream for that extremely lavish yet romantic set-up. The plush interior of Lewin Terrace’s stately indoor seating area, The Gathering Table, was the perfect space to set up, heightening the grandiose of the theme.

The subtle lavishness and sheen of the antique gold accents and the daintiness of the glasswares from Styled Story and Taylor B brought a warm and feminine touch to the table, against the passionate deep red and cream blooms by Hua Hee and black table place mats. Keeping in line with the theme, Med Karlek customised a set of hand calligraphed wedding menu and place card. Gold dusted hexagon-shaped chocolates by A Piece of Sin joined the repertoire of deep coloured and gold elements, bathing the set-up in an opulent glow.

You can still have an ornate wedding set-up even if you do not have the exact items used in our Ornate tablescape, or the budget to purchase them. For starters, you can create a similar set-up by focusing on the key element: the rich and luxurious hues of the colours used here. Instead of full sized table centrepieces for your guest tables, opt for smaller bunches of red roses in gold spray painted glass bottles or jars for your guest tables. Silver dinnerwares are great alternatives to gold ones, as they exude a similar extravagance in a cooler tone. If vintage jewellery boxes and glasswares are a must, take your search online as some websites, such as Taobao or Qoo10, may sell them at a lower cost. Alternatively, you may also spray paint boxes in gold.

We would like to thank all the creative vendors who came bright and early to Lewin Terrace to put our series of tablescapes together!

Stay tuned for the final instalment of our tablescape inspirations at Lewin Terrace as we show you how to pull off a watercolour wedding set-up in pretty shades of baby blue, lilac and pale teal.
