A Rocking Wedding at Conrad Centennial Singapore

Jaster and Burn tied the knot in style, with Harley Davidson bikes, their cool terriers, and a whole lot of rock ‘n’ roll, at dog-friendly Conrad Centennial Singapore.

Possibly our coolest couple to-date, Jaster Ngui, 37, Executive Artist, and Burn Koh, 35, Self-employed, incorporated their passion for rock ‘n’ roll, Harley Davidson motorcycles and English Bull Terriers into the celebration of their biggest day of their lives. With a concert themed rock ‘n’ roll wedding in red and black, our rock-star couple tied the knot at Conrad Centennial Singapore on 8 July 2015.

Tell us about you and Burn.

I met Burn in a jamming studio where my brother, Six, was holding an audition. I have a thing with long-haired men, and when Burn walked in, his long hair caught my attention instantly. Then, when he whipped out his Jimmy Page Gibson Lespaul and started playing, I was sold. I couldn’t have asked for a better soulmate who’ve been my shoulder to lean on when I needed to in our 12 years of courtship, and whom I share my love of rock music, guitars, English Bull Terriers and Harley Davidson motorcycles with.

Walk us through the planning of your rock ‘n’ roll wedding.

From the start, I knew I wanted a red gown to match my boots and we didn’t want a run-of-the-mill wedding. Elsie, our wedding planner found the perfect place to customise my very own red gown at BQueens and Burn had his long suit customised by Jit from Silverlining Bridal Couture to complement his leather pants. We also did away with the usual wedding invitation cards (I designed our own), albums, rings, favours and nine-course dinner banquet, and made a wedding we can call our own. Our wedding was a rock ‘n’ roll concert theme with a red and black dress code with a live band.

Tell us about your wedding day, where you rode in on Harley Davidsons and had your English Bull Terriers as your ring bearers.

We decided to wed at Conrad Centennial Singapore because it was one of the places we had a staycation at that allowed dogs and had great food. Aside from our family and friends, we also wanted our loves – our beloved English Bull Terriers and Harley Davidsons – to be part of this momentous occasion in our lives. And Conrad Centennial Singapore was one of the places we’ve been to that allowed dogs and had great food. So, it was natural that we decided to wed there.

The entire day proceeded without a hitch and we were extremely pleased to see our guests come in theme – one of our friends even turned up as Slash! Everyone had a great time and loved the wedding as much as we did!
