Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa’s Modern Legacy
On a beautiful Sunday on 22 June, Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa showed couples how to throw a luxurious wedding party in an elegant tropical paradise.
Amidst the swaying palms and lush tropical landscape of idyllic Sentosa rose the elegant Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa. Its charming colonial architecture gleamed white in the bright sunlight, smiling in welcome at the couples arriving for the heritage hotel’s wedding show. Right next to the hotel, the iconic Merlion’s graceful fountain stream tinkled and sparkled in the afternoon light. Alongside the recently built Contemporary wing is the three-storey Heritage wing that pays homage to Singapore’s history. Newly opened, it now features luxurious suites steeped in the stories of yesteryear, with original features such colonial doors, windows and other architectural details from Singapore’s 1940s each lovingly restored to their former glory. Together, the two beautifully designed wings with their perfectly manicured lawns made a picturesque sight.
In the elegant column-free Heritage Ballroom, couples got a taste of the culinary delights the hotel’s chefs would impress their wedding guests with, and saw the lovely wedding themes available to elevate their big days into grand celebrations. Those who are after a dainty fairytale wedding ooh’ed and ahh’ed over a blue theme blooming with magic, with a floral arch to grace the stage and delicate table arrangements. For something with a more tropical feel, the passionate red wedding theme showcased fiery orchids and bold colours. Besides the pretty themes, there was also a gorgeously decorated dessert table, filled with all manner of delicious creations and pastel-hued flowers. Of the creamy panna cotta, crunchy macaroons and other desserts, the ice cream station serving luscious scoops of Mövenpick ice cream was the biggest hit with couples. Designed with tropically decorated walls and with a view of the 22-metre outdoor cascading infinity pool, the ballroom is filled with natural light to showcase wedding finery, and offers a state-of-the-art audio visual and light equipment to make it the perfect venue for your wedding.
It was soon time for the wedding fair’s anticipated runway show by La Belle Couture. As couples tried to get front row seats of those lining the hotel’s long elegant lobby, a talented string quartet set a romantic mood. With its stunning décor details and fantastic feature wall, the lobby created the perfect runway for the lovely bridal collection. The pretty wedding gowns bloomed with the luxurious foliage of the garden feature wall for backdrop.
Couples were then brought on a tour of the hotel’s striking rooms and facilities, designed by the internationally renowned Japanese design company Super Potato. Elegant function rooms could seat up to 60 guests for an intimate solemnisation ceremony. In the Contemporary wing, the tranquil Onsen suites feature a Japanese-style hot tub set in a spacious, private outdoor sanctuary, perfect for newlyweds to luxuriate in each other’s company. At the Heritage wing, the Heritage Merlion Premium suites offer unparalleled views of the imposing Merlion statue with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Alongside well-appointed modern furnishings such as a free-standing soak tub, the suites also featured pieces of repurposed original elements in unique wall art for a rich sense of history. With the Imbiah station on Sentosa’s monorail mere steps from the hotel, couples saw how honeymooning in the lovely Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa could conveniently lead to further adventures together in the island’s many attractions and entertainment options.
