Designer Feature: Charlotte Balbier 2014 Anniversary Collection
Charlotte Balbier’s latest bridal collection, A Decade of Style, celebrates her 10th anniversary as a designer of her signature romantically feminine wedding gowns. To mark a fresh and exciting new start to their next decade of design, the UK based bridal label launches a collection of wedding gowns for every bride. A Decade of Style is made for each bride with a unique style and story, and every bride who is consumed with love.
The collection features romantic, feminine details paired with fiery red lips and opulent headpieces, and my imagination is captured by their story of ardor. The wedding gowns overflowing with lace, with backs daringly bared, lengths of silk skimming womanly curves, and beaded sweetheart bodices speak of a woman lost in the throes of love. The Balbier bride is a woman who believes in romance. You can almost hear her heart beating beneath the dainty Victorian lace bolero fluttering at the base of her throat.
Romantic silhouettes suit every body type and fashion preference, from a fifties-style tea length frock to a svelte drop-waisted sheath to the popular ballgown. There’s also a plethora of lustrous textures, such as beaded lace in baroque detailing, interwoven ruching and crystal embellishments, all emphasizing the romantic vision of the collection. Charlotte Balbier’s wedding gowns tell a story of a bride who is burning with an all-consuming passion, and is longing to gather up her skirts and run into her lover’s arms.
