I just went for a site visit today. Carlton ballroom is pillarless and looks nice & cosy. I like it as the whole level is exclusive to us. My guests can just take the lift and once the lift door opens, it will be the reception table. My only worry.. is the place too 'ulu'?.. And, the flower arch, centerpiece, decor seems to boring? Would like to on comment their services based on today meeting..

The sales manager made an appointment with us but denied that he did that(We got the email on the meet up!). I spare some times out of my schedule to meet up with him and yet he denied making an appointment with us.. So disappointed with such a service for the 1st appearance..

Will not held my wedding dinner there..

I m a York BTB, my wedding will be on dec09. and of all the times i went to York, I really love it. the manager is very friendly and nice and I saw a actual wedding set up ytd. its really v nice. and the perks are all very flexible as well..

prices are of course reasonable. (Please go to their website to see, instead of asking ppl to email u.)

hope this helps as BTBs who are wondering if York is a right choice.

hi all, since York doesn't provide a solemization room separately, if we wanna do solemization we have to do it at 7pm in the banquet hall... anyone tried this before or going to do this? I think it'll be rush but do wanna hear feedback if there's any.. thanks

i attended my cousin's wedding 2years back. what they did was solemize straigh after 1stmarch in.

its nice cause you get so many witness.
but its bad cause the guests will be VERY hungry!
haha so up to u how u wanan organise your time...

I just had my wedding on 6 dec 09, at York Hotel, Carlton Hall, level 2. I must say the service there is really good. We called up on AD itself to add one table and York Hotel kindly allow for that. And when we had more guests appearing for our banquet, the manger allowed 12 to a table, solving our table problem. All in all, I appreciate the help they rendered for our wedding.

im back here (should be my last post)
I would say "GO FOR YORK!" im really very happy with york and wish to thanks all the staff there... They were all SO helpful during my Banquet! and the ballroom (rosemarie) was cosy and well-decorated. I loveeeee the candlelight effects and i choosed Red Roses. Their roses are LASTING man.. Last for a week (i bought them home haha)

and the bridal suite was decorated very well! With roses and all. *love*

really made my night memorable.. i will go back there every year for my anniver..

I have to add, almost ALL my guests gave GOOD comments on the food. prawns were huge and fresh, fish was good. most impt.. the sharkfin was GOOD quality!

One of my cousin held her wedding a week after mine (at another hotel).. and most of my relatives prefered york's food.

if I have any -ve comments, it should be the stage is a wee bit small.. will be great if its bigger. but I have no complains..

what are the perks that york hotel gives, dec 2010 bride.
went to check it out but, they were quite stiff on the add ons (meaning things that are not included for the package) tried asking for more decorations but all they said was no. on top of that the additional rooms given by the dbs credit card is a smaller room, so on the first we'll be given the bigger room, and then have to shift to the smaller room - which is quite inconvenient?

hi, it is actually pretty inconveniently situated. i have walked before... from orchard mrt to york hotel. it was very far. tat time i was in slippers, and i'm already tired. imagine those guest with heels, and they had to wear heels and walk up slope. yes, it is sloppy.. at 1st i'm thinking of catering a bus to fetch the guest to n fro there, but the road was simply too narrow for a bus to passby (paragon there). therefore we drop york hotel. york hotel actually had better perks then other hotel. it was my 1st choice, but i drop it becoz of location.
