Hi all,

We've also managed to have Dr Phua to be our JP ^^

We initially confirmed on a venue for our ROM, however due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to change the venue.

However we'd already received his initial "Invitation to solemnize", signed and the original venue address and venue's name stated.

Now that we've amended the venue, which we have communicated to him and he's ok with it.. should we be expecting him to resend another "invitation to solemnize" with the new address and name of venue or will the old one do?

Also.. our ROM's in Jan 2010..if i remember correctly, we can only register with the Registrar 3months in advance along with his Licence No. right?

Thanks, appreciate the advice!

Can someone please email me Dr Phua' contact & email address, [email protected].

For those who have engaged him before, does he require transport arrangement cos mine will be a bit out of the way ....

I have engaged Dr Phua to be our JP on 12 Dec. However, did anyone meet him first before the actual day to discuss the details?

Hi guys, i didnt meet Dr Phua before my ROM. only liaise with him thru email or phone..

Hi adellz03 (adeken),

Dr Phua was slighty late for my ROM due to the traffic but he did called us to inform us that he is still stuck in the jam. When he came, he apologise for the lateness and proceed immediately for the event... He made the whole ROM a very funny one... speaking in Mandarin, abit of hokkien and also english.. he will also guide u along the whole ceremony, like after signing hold on to the pen for your PG to take the photo etc.. after the ceremony, after passing the cert over to us, he held to both our hands congrating us and telling us abit on his though on marriage like must have 24/7 communication, must respect each other parents etc.. so overall i will give a 2 thumb up for Dr Phua ^_^

Hi Greentwinkle,

For mine, whole ceremony took abt 15-20 mins i think... from my march-in till he left....

Didnt told him my preference language.. cos when he reached, he took our NRICs for verification then B4 starting the ceremony, he jus asked us what language we prefer... Then we told him since got some elderly present so it will be good to speak some chinese... but is 90% english and 10% chinese... Vow and "i do" are all in english.... think if u wan the whole ceremony to be 100% in chinese, you better inform him earlier.... hope this help...

Hi all, like to know is Dr Phua a christian? Is he humorous and will he crack jokes when doing the solemnization? I'm looking for a JP who is humorous so that the whole ceremony will not be dull.

Hi All, I am so glad that I had Dr Phua as my solemniser on 29 November. Dr Phua reached my solemnisation venue early and was very very patient with us. I would like to apologise to Dr Phua for all the waiting as my make up artist came late and as a result, I was at least half an hour late for my solemnisation. He was so understanding....I couldn't ask for more....the ceremony went on smoothly and touched our hearts...Once again, thank you so much, Dr Phua!

Hi
I got Dr Ho Lai Yun as my soleminizer. He is great. Systematic, Able to converse in both English and Mandarin and did crack some jokes to lighten the atmosphere. Best of all, charitable guy. He donated our angpow for him to charity.

You have to contact him 3mths before your ROM date. His email is [email protected]
