I would liked to request for 1 copy if u don't mind ...

I just call three banks to ask about their c.c. and points/rebate

POSB/DBS-1mnth temp increase
-Now promotion, if you charge ur banquet bill into ur DBS card (I ask abt women’s card) within 31Dec2010, will get 3 times the DBS dollar. (Normal is $5 spent = DBS $1). So u r getting $5 spend = DBS $3.
-POSB Everyday card give cash rebate of 0.3%. But this cash rebate can only be claimed on certain participating merchant (Carrefour n a few others).

Citi BANK-1mnth temp increase
-Citi Clear platinum c.c. has $1 spent = Citi$1.
-As for cash rebates, need to apply for Dividend Card which give u 0.5% cash rebate, you will receive a cheque later on. I like this

UOB-7days temp increase
-UOB Ladies card. $5= 1 Uni points. Try to pay w/in 7days or else ur card limit will exceed. Or u can choose to pay w/in 1 month- wait for c.c. statement to come first den pay.
-As for cash rebates, need to get One Card (white color). But very mah-fan, to get the rebates need to hv min spending for 3 months continuously. No point when it comes to wedding which we only do one time payment.

All of the above mention points/cash rebate applies to credit limit increase too.

juz to share, i made a check on Standard Chartered Bank

- they have cash rebate credited to your credit card. but its only max. $100 rebate per card basis (15% rebate promo end Jun'10) + any new card application got a credit of $50.

for prudential stand card - new card got credit of $75.

hence, if ur wedding/booking in May/Jun, apply for 2 cards each couple=4 cards=$400 rebate + new card credit it be ard $500 rebate.

refer to SCB website for more details.

Siy > are you talking about the Manhatten Card? if yes then the max $100 rebate is for the recent F&B promotion running until Jun 10, different from their usual rebates.

I think the 15% cash back on dining for Standard Chartered cards does not applies for banquet, the rebate is purely for dining. And it is on till 16th June.

I just applied for the Standard Chartered Manhanttan card.

There is a 5% cash rebate if you charge $3000 or more in a month. This is seperate from the Dining cash back promo which doesnt apply to banquet, like what Terence Loh said.

Limit to $300 every 3 months/quarter for the cash rebate. e.g. $6000 in 1 month or $3000 in 1st month and $3000 in another month (within 3 months period)
If you charged less than $3000 in a month, cash rebate percentage is less. check the website for the actual rates...

My friend used multiple manhattan cards (herself, her hubby and fr family & friends) to pay off her wedding banquet, splitting each card to be charged $6000 to get the max. rebate.

I looked up Xtra saver. it's a debit card and to enjoy the cashback rebate, there must be $6000 and above in the account.

# Up to 5% CashBack on all MasterCard transactions everywhere

but the fine print states this:
2. CashBack is applicable if the average daily balance in the chequing account calculated at the end of each calendar month is $6,000 and above. CashBack is tiered and calculated at the end of each calendar month based on the deposit amount in the chequing account and will be credited on the first working day of the next calendar month, to the relevant account. Monthly CashBack is subject to a cap, ranging from $15 to $60 for MasterCard transactions at petrol stations, $50 for NETS transactions and an overall cap of $300 for an aggregation of all transactions per month.

Correction: Just called up Standard Chartered. They told me wedding banquet counted as 15% dining cashback. Dunno how true is it. Must wait till I get my June statement den will know.

Thing to note abt Manhattan card: U must find out when is your cutoff date as the rebate is based on your billing cycle, not from 1st - 31st May, etc. Hence if you spend lets say $2500 till 20th may (eg cutoff is 20th May) and then u spend $500 on 23rd May, u will only get 0.5% rebate for the $500 (not 5%).

Hi all,

I just checked my statement and I have gotten the dining cashback 15% for the 15apr-15May for my wedding lunch deposit. But mine is held at restaurant so it's counted as part of dining bill.

Not sure about hotel banquets. Perhaps Terence can share if he gotten his rebate too. I will plan to pay more deposit to get the rest of the dining cashback now! till 16June i think.

Smilem:
Xtra saver is a debit card, not credit card.
and it's only 2% cash rebate if you have at least daily $6000 balance in the account. The cash rebate is only 5% if you have $50,000 in the account. so I think this Xtra saver cash rebate is only worth it after you max out the manhanttan credit card cash rebate value.

Anyway I called up standard chartered on their GSS promo for June and July. Check out the free gifts deals. And the easypay installment plans have free service charge now for purchases made in June and July, instead of the usual 5% fee.

Any particular cards that offer the most perks? Just to check, do we have to provide the banks with any documents to support the temporary increase of my credit limits to foot the banquet bill?
