I believe you can find typical type of my cheongsam easily. Try to ask around, I saw Amanda has something similar as well.

Cheers,

Hi Jessica, how many outfits did you loan frm Z wedding? They would only lend me one outdoor WG for shooting, but its so boring to have the same gown throughout the whole outdoor shoot. Btw, any idea if ah soon will allow us to bring a friend along?

jessica_halida

they lend me 2 for the afternoon and 1 for the night shoot. By right I guess I only get 1 for the afternoon and 1 for the night shoot, but I don't know how my designer managed to persuade her bos and gave me another one :p
I am not sure whether ah soon will allow you to bring friends around, as I had never done so. May be you can ask him, I think that's giving more certainty than asking me

All the best with you PS...!!!

hi Clar,
unfortunately the photographer in Bali(the one that I've used) has no website. But, I had a better alternative : http://www.photofactorybali.com/
His pricing is about the same as the one I used, but he is more used to having overseas client. Just for your info that my husband is balinese, so that time I had no problem sending my album back to sg, I simply ask my in law to fetch and do send it. But I believe with photofactory you can have your album sent easily, try to ask windee the photographer :)

Hi Jessica,

Your photos are so nice. I'm thinking of having my prewedding PS done in bali as well after seeing your pictures. Is it cheaper to get a local photographer in bali? Do you have to bring your own gowns along? What abt makeup?

jessica_halida

New Member
hi kym,
yes, it is absolutely cheaper to get local photographer there. First you don't need to pay their airfares, second they are more knowledgeable of the area to take pics and weather. Last time I did it for around 600 SGD, all negative returned. You can either bring your own gown or you can borrow one. The previous photographer that I quoted had affiliation with make up artist and local BS.
Hopefully you find this helpful.

Angeline, maybe u can try out

I went to the newly revamp National musuem for my recent PS. also went to a pub for my shoots.

hi angeline, there's actually alot of locations to be taken at sentosa itself, not jus the beach, but heard there's this chapel or somthing, & u can also take at the Big Tree...its near the Sentosa golf club. hence u'll not only be able to get the beach , the sand effect on ur photos but also be able to get some greenary on ur photos.

Hi PAstillies,
Can i chk wif u do u hv to pay National Museum $ for rental of space there to do ur photoshoot? cos im quite interested as well,,, thanks.... Cos i heard u need to pay abt $105 for 3 hrs..

pastillies

New Member
Hi csc, u only need to apply for permit & pay if u're going inside the Musuem to take photos (taking interiors)...for me , I took at the surroundings (exterior); i.e outside & with the building as backdrop...didnt went inside the museum, so it's FOC. However even if u are willing to pay to go inside the musuem to take, strictly no photos at the gallery...

ya think the charges is abt $100...maybe extra $5 is for GST..

hi jessica,
the white cheongseom dress is a EG or tea dress? looks so beautiful..im aso from Z wedding, requested for cheongseom-like gowns but din see tis..getting a marron, mandarin-collar EG..not too sure goes well in the Thiam Hock Keng Temple as background...

Hi Pastillies,
can i check which pub u go to? any special arrangements? i tot of looking at hotel lounge too..

can share ur photos?

pastillies

New Member
hi lavender_sky,sure, however my photos are still not ready, gotta wait for another 2 mths then can collect my album back..

will share with u once i get them
happy.gif
wat's ur email?

oh as for Pub, I went to this pub call SKIN.
think there's a website u can check out, skin.com.sg
i think hotel lounge generally do not really "welcome" us for Photoshoots unless it's ur hotel that u're having ur wedding dinner at, then u can make arrangements...cos they dun want us to distrub them doing business....

even for the pub, i was given a particular timeslot...which is before they open for business...there's another place can consider, V-Tea room @ esplanade, nice place...however they only accept bookings for photoshoot during wkdays, wkends they say quite crowded...(cos my PS was on a wkend, hence at fist wanted to go there & take, but in the end decided otherwise)

Hi pastillies, You have very interesting locations for your PS. Any other recommendation ?

I am actually considering National Musuem. How to apply for a permit?

Do you have to pay for V-Tea/Skin for PS ?
Thank you so much ya....

hi Pastilles,
oh, i had seen some pre-wedding pics on the web before, din know that tis V-Tea room. ya, nice setting though had not been there yet.
mine is aso a wkend, tat's means quite hard too..

pastillies

hi mushroom,
recommendations ah..u can also consider Alexandra for greenry, Tanjong pagar railway, Punggol/changi for greenry/lalangs....Sentosa for greens & beach...depends on wat kind of feel/mood u wat ur albumn to have...for us, as we taken greenry & beach/sunset during our Post ROM photoshoots, hence for our Photoshoot we want a more urban & chic feel(those like "in mood of Love" kind) hence choosen National musuem & pub.

I went to Telok ayer to take some "olden days" effect too with Kua.. Club street is another place u can consider, as the streets & shophouses makes nice backdrops
happy.gif

For national musuem, must pay $100+GST to apply for permit to take inside the musuem. Taking outside the musuem is FOC. however our PG mention to us before that they tried to take outside & surrounding of national musuem before, but the moment they alight fm the car, was being chase by security, hence my PG advise me tt time to call & double check. Even after applying for permit to take inside the musuem, strictly no taking inside the gallary.

other than national musuem, there's also SAM (sinagpore art musuem) & ACM (asian civilisation musuem).

For V-Tea room...think it's $25 or $30 for half an hour + 2 complimentry pots of Tea. But they advise wkdays is better.

Oh Lavender_sky, Vtea room is @ Esplanade. mmm even if urs is on a wkend dun worry there's still alot of other palaces to consider
happy.gif
mine was also on a wkend...
happy.gif

disucss with ur HB the type of feel & mood u want for ur album first, so easier to narrow down places...i.e more natural ? more urban?

just my 2 cents worth! cheers!

Hi Yelody,

I am sad to share with you that when my photography partners went to do pre-wedding shoot a month ago, the nice swing on the tree at Alexandra Rd has been taken down. Probably cos the residents there find it annoying to often have couples taking photos there.

They do not have lalangs there. Usually people like to have shots of the long road with the fence, the "tree stub" which people like to sit on, the low saga seed trees and the big lawn.

The exact location is: Map Link

I had my lifestyle shoot done there with my boyfriend last year for our 5th year anniversary. Though the swing is gone, but I would love to share about the lawn.

The photos taken at this place does not "look local" as you won't see buildings budging out in the edge of your photos, which are tell-tale signs of the location.

I've heard from my partners about shooting in lalang field at Punggol. Maybe you can check with your photographer?

Good luck for your outdoor shoot!

Cheers,
Joyce

Hi All,

For couples who would like to have your pre-wedding shots done at the musuems, these are the details you may like to take note of..

National Museum - you can email them for the application form. The charges will be $107

All areas are allowed photography except the galleries.

http://www.nationalmuseum.sg/ -- Facilities -- Photography & Filming

Singapore Arts Museum - there are no charges, but you are not allowed to do your photography in the galleries. There are also restriction on the parking which you may like to check with SAM.

Asian Civilization Museum - Minumum and Maximum booking of 1 hour. Limited to shoot in Foyer, Courtyard and one more place, can't shoot in the galleries.

Villa Bali - their website is under renovation right now, you may like to call them at 64736763 to contact the Events' Manager for booking. The shoot can only be conducted before 4pm, when they start the operations for the day.

For the museums and Villa Bali which require booking, you will need to contact them 3 days prior to the shoot.

These are the information which I have recently collected on behalf of my couples, you may like to double check with the authorized personnels for the accuracy of the information.

All the best for your upcoming photoshoots!

Cheers,
Joyce

Hi Joyce, thanks for your info!!!

I'll like to have my outdoor shoot taken at Changi Broadwalk too. i'm searching for another one. Most probably will be the Punggol Lalang.

But my hubby was saying that if go punggol, there's only lalang to be taken, not many other spots, is it true?

joyce_space217

New Member
Hi Yelody,

I've checked with my photography partner, he agrees that there are not many spots for photo-taking, but it's not just all lalang. There are barren tracks, dried up trees, full crown trees, short grass, etc.

Even though the place might be limited by not many photo-taking spots, the photographer can get different angles, different directions to capture different moods.

So depending on the theme of the photoshoot that you would like to achieve ultimately, you may like to communicate with your photographer during the conceptualizing session for your shoot.

Cheers,
Joyce

has anyone taken photos at chijmes or tj pagar railway before? Are these locations permissible?
Tks...

Hi.

As mentioned, there is a charge by CHIJMES if you are taking photos in their premises.

For the railway, do you mean inside the station or along the railway that goes to JB? If along the railway, not that I know of. But you have to be careful if you are on high heels and in a long gown though. It's quite hard to see where you are walking in that attire. ;)
