dreamer,

I bought my downfeather at coldwear at 50% discount. So it is around $80. My hubby one is slightly cheaper than mine.

When i did my shopping at wintertime vivocity outlet, no discount, but HUGE variety there. Shop till u drop haha.. a lot of designs available.

We bought out boots at wintertime. They sell timberland boots. My hubby's pair $299 and mine $199. Expensive ah!! Pretty heartpain. But timberland ones should be better lor..

I bought all my thermal wear from there. I also bought at 20% discount.

For other winter stuff, i got from wintertime vivocity which is really huge and lots of choices!! So tempting to get a lot :p

For my downfeather, i actually got from coldwear at plaza singapura due to budget concern. They have 50% price slash for some limited designs. I happened to get one which i like

Not really much cheaper.... I also just got a whole load of winter wear for me & family.

There's winter time, Unniversal traveller, colder wear. These outlet carry stuff that's more presentable.

But if really on the cheap, you might want to try People's Park. There's these China goods shops that sell winter wear too (some are also not really cheap). There's also Winings which I found the stuff to be urgh but relatively cheaper.

Best to watch out for the sales at Winter Time & Cold Wear. They occur weekly.... so watch out for it. It changes every week from what I noticed. One moment there's 20% discount, next there's none, then its 30%, and so forth.

Don't rush... you still have plenty of time. I took like a month going round the various shops till I just finished my winter wear shopping last week. Oh BTW, Universal traveller stuff is still slightly cheaper locally than if you go to malaysia to buy. Just saw an outlet here at Jurong Point but I already bought from JB store. Long Johns are cheaper for the China made ones (cotton and now down type)

Please try Lemmi fashion, they have adult sizes also. They have 1 outlet in Vivo, another in united square. I think it's a german brand. I got 1 for my daughter slightly over $200 plus. The jacket can withstand -40 degree. She didn't fall sick throughout. Inside, just wear normal long sleeves.

The first time, we got thermal wear from winnings, jacket from winter times. Both me and hubby got sick on last 2 days of the trip. Waste of money and time.

Get a good quality one jacket, don't bother about the thermal wear.

Am preparing for Europe and UK trip in September; and even though it's not winter, I am naturally afraid of cold, so I fret over the budget for buying coldwear... and shopping experience tells me that if I'm not willing to fork out enough money, I can forget about looking remotely fashionable in the cold. Unless I go for second-hand, which is difficult, considering that I'm

So I was shopping in Queensway for comfortable shoes but came across many shops offering heavy jackets (I know, I am distracted easily, haha). There was one which we stepped into, and when the ladyboss knew we are going travelling, she led us to a separate shopfront which specialises in coldwear.

The brands are quality ones, such as North Face and Columbia, and they look a lot better than the sullen ones which we come across often. One thing was that they were short on sizes, so I asked, and the ladyboss told me that what she had are factory rejects but defects are very marginal. I tried on many pieces and found most of them comfortable, all of them affordable and practical while managing to look good.

Daiso sells lots of cute cute gloves and socks at $2 each... Even if they are not good, they will still be useful for layering at night.
