my wife and me recently held our ROM and wedding banquet at the Labador park, Villa Rain Tree. Solemnization is held in that nice little glass house but that it all that is to it.
The entire experience is terrible.
1. the management changed a few times since Nov 08.
2. no one follow up to our case until 2 weeks before our ROM. we tried calling but was always answered by the recept and took down our number but never call us back.
3. Prior agreement before the change of management was not avail anymore. We made a trip down to meet up 2 weeks before and scolded the new girl who is taking up our case cos she told us we have to accept it cos it now under new management. scolded her up down left right.
4. a few day before our ROM, we went down to meet her again to finalise the food and other stuffs. saw the pool was in a state of mess. inside of the pool, the tiles are slimy and water turning green. There was this other couple(likely theirs to be held tomorrow) who came saw it and commented on it and they promised to clean up. So we told should be ok already cos they be cleaning up for them but... alas... still the same with dead leaves inside not clear....
5. the glass house deco, terrible. before our JOB came, they clean up and put up the deco. though should be ok and left them do their job while i attend to other matters. later, our JOP came, sat down, immediately he pointed out, the flowers used is not fresh. withering. he say the flowers likely recycled from previous day. i took a closer look... true enough.. flowers tied to the curtain are yellowing, rose petals are dirty, apparently people have step on it before despite only 3 people had step in till now,.....
6. we are suppose to have cocktails served during the solemnization (1hr) but even before it ended, they close shop liao. Damn mahu when guest ask for drink..
7. Order a barrel of tiger beer (20L), supposed to be able serve 80 glasses. my friends are in the pub industry say a barrel will likely serve 60 glasses (15 jugs) due to wastage. he say normal. Turn out my beer is not from barrel. they pour from can..... the floor manager, Tony, told me that it will only be 12 Jugs instead of 15. My friend tell him off but since its our event, so i let it be. as we were only have a small group, 40ppl, so seating is fairly small group. My friend started to monitor the beer cos he feels the Tony is not honest. it turns out to be true, they had only serve less than 10 Jugs after he went around asking from the tables since mostly known friends. We tried approached him but he kept giving excuses say all served. anyway, we know in all banquets, they will "steal" your alcoholic drinks no matter where cos we have a couple of friends experience it before.
To cut things short. Avoid that place at all cost. If you do not believe, theirs another couple of experience similar problem (in myhometown.sg). fed up with all the issues, she forfeit her deposit. we tried to do that but it was just t close to our wedding day to look for alternative venue.
we tried contacting the management to complain but they dont even send a email to say they are looking into it. Got the contact number but never seems to pick up or return call depite leaving our contacts with them.
AVOID!AVOID! to not be taken by their empty promises.
