Hi Everyone,

One of my friend had her worst experience with one of the wedding planner though. This wedding planner is pretty new in the scene but claim herself to be very experienced so my friend engaged her. But to her horror, this wedding planner only make her day worst.

Instead of helping, she create more problem and did a totally bad job in coordinating her wedding day. Totally unprofessional. After the wedding, my friend approach her to request an answer to how come such bad job was done, instead of apologizing, she pushed all the blame back to everyone else including the bridal couple. No remorse or feeling apologetic for upsetting the couple and ruin their special day.

My friend was only seeking at least a word of apology but none was given. Instead, now the bridal couple face the wrath of the wedding planner. She was rude to them and ignore all their emails and phone calls. Even claim that they are not working for these 2 months. We are all shock as everyone knows that year end is the busiest for weddings.

Anyway, I am just here to warn everyone who is thinking of engaging a wedding planner. Choose one who is friendly and reliable. Not one who is so full of attitude, games and rudeness. Not even counting their incompetency yet.

I will be happy to provide the name of this wedding planner to avoid too.

Wedding is a happy occasion and to have such a horrible wedding planner to spoilt the day is just really sad.

bad karma on this wedding planner. i just feel so sad for my friend to have such an encounter.

So please please all be careful when choosing your wedding planner.

Oh my god...

Who is this wedding planner you are talking about? Care to provide the company name and the planner's name?

Hi Sugar,

It is Ana from Fete. Never heard of them till my friend's wedding. I really pity my friend. This incident really affect both of them a lot. Can you imagine that they pay her to ensure all went well, but she did not do her job. So incompetent. All my friend wanted was an apology after the wedding.

I mean once in a life time occasion, right? It is indeed not professional to ruin it and then push all the responsibility away when things go wrong right?

We find that it is ok to make mistakes, and apologise for it. At least you are professional enough to say sorry. But not for her, and all the correspondence to my friends had been pretty rude so far.

Just beware ok? My friend are so distraught now. From feeling sad about the incident to feeling angry on how the issues had been handled.

Hi Jazzle,

Thanks for sharing with the brides to be here, otherwise, there might be couples suffering again...

I do agree it is a once in a lifetime, which is why it is so so so important... Your friend is very nice that she did not demand a compensation...

How much did your friend pay for the wedding planning services? I hope it didn't cost her a bomb and yet get this kind of shit...

Actually before your friend's wedding, during the meeting up with the planner for discussion, her true colours were not shown?

Some planners r really quite disorganised... Was she alone or did she get you ppl to help her out?

Dear Sugar,

Yeah, after hearing what my friend had to go through, I feel so sorry for both of them. Certainly do not want others to go through what they had gone through. No matter how cheap the service is, couples should not have to go through with such experiences. Besides, it is the attitude that counts most.

My friend started out as just wanting an explanation. I mean imagine you go through a bad experience, initial thoughts is to see the attitude of the person right? If they are more forth coming and apologetic, you will also be more willing to forgive and move on. But in my friends' case, the attitude of the planner is just so bad. Still cannot imagine with all the facts, the planner can still say they are not at fault. If they had been more apologetic to my friend, at least my friend will be able to feel better. End of the day, when such thing happen, you just want some compassion and know that whoever who failed you are sorry that they had.

I do not know how much they paid for her service, but certainly a few thousands. The typical planner rate I will presume. Still not cheap you know.

I am not sure of the planner attitude before the wedding. But heard my friend was not too happy about the way the planner was carrying out her duties. But they had already paid her, so no choice but to stick it out. Who know that in the end, the planner really mess it all up.

The planner initially told my friend that there will only be 2 person running the event, but end up having 4 or 5 people. I was part of the helpers, so it was really messy. It is like too many cooks spoil the broth situation.

Anyway, I am just here to warn all the brides to be here who are thinking of engaging a wedding planner to avoid this planner.

Services is totally bad. Even my friends who are in the wedding business heard of her bad attitude and bad reputation. I only know this after telling them of my friends' situation. Kind of sad for my friends lah....Sigh.

Dear Jazzle,

I feel very sad for your friend too... What a way to remember her wedding... I hope the damage by the planner was not too big and your friend at least did enjoy her wedding a little...

I feel if those want to be in wedding business, they must really love weddings and not doing for the sake of doing... Guess the couple can feel whether sincerity is in anot...

Thanks for sharing Jazzle!

Dear Sugar,

Yeah. very sad. Certainly not a way to remember your own wedding. The planner really made a mess of the wedding. She was the coordinator for the event. Drag the groom for briefing just before ceremony till 10mins before the ceremony is due to start. So, he no time to shower and get ready for the ceremony. NO time to even greet the guests.

Yet, still claim my friends did not brief her properly on the event when all that is needed to know where in the event itinerary as well as instructions lists from hotel. That is why my friends cannot understand how things can cock up and then planner can say she don't know that the couple wants this and that to take place.

My friends enjoyed most of their wedding. Just the planner's attitude sucks and the major incidents where there is nothing that they can do to salvage. It's only after the wedding is over then it was highlighted to them how severe the consequences of the cock ups were brought up.

Well, forum is here for us to share good and bad experience. Of cos, if good services, we will all sing praises of that and want to recommend them to others. My friends are so happy with their other vendors. Just that this bad experience with the planner is really an extreme. lol

Well, hence, I feel it is only right to bring this up to brides here on a bad wedding planner in the market to avoid lor.

How is your wedding planning coming along?

Hi Sugar,

I think that is best. Can enjoy the process together. At least you are not at the mercy of another person whom you do not even know well.

When is your wedding?

Hi jan/pinkyy,

Do you have Nic's email address where I can reach him? I'm actually based overseas now and am thinking of getting a wedding planner to help me with my wedding in Singapore. It's quite a pain for me to do that while being away from SG.

hi zixzy,
i spoke to him yesterday, he told me that he is busy with his national service now. but i told him that i recommended u, so he says that he may need to see when ur wedding date is. Even though he is young, i think he is very professional as he is already in this line for four years and both me and my hubby r very pleased with his professional approach to last minute problems and also his planning. his email is "[email protected]". All the best for ur wedding preparation, i believe he will guide u along without any issues for u to be worried of.

Attended a wedding recently and the couple actually engaged a wedding planner. However, I can see that the wedding planner is not coordinating well with the banquet staff and decided to herself boss of the whole wedding.
The wedding planner went to the emcees and told the emcees that the couple is ready for march in. The emcees went on stage, invited all to stand up and welcome the couple, music start, spot light shine on the entrance of the ballroom, ballroom door opens... No couple... Emcee stood there... Stumped!
Don't ask me who is the wedding planner or which company the wedding planner comes from. I don't know myself.
So.. Be careful when you engage wedding planners. Check portfolio for experience. Don't just trust someone else to say they are good. Check it out yourself.
And... Engage professional emcees. Not friends or brothers to do the job. You don't want your friend to look stumped on stage under the limelight on your wedding in front of 300 people. Your friend will hate you forever...

The wedding planner did not check with the banquet staff. She just do everything on her own when the banquet staff are busy with service. They don't even know she is going ahead when nothing is ready. Not even the food.

Hello there BTBs!

We are a wedding planning company that specializes in "House Restaurant Weddings", and we tie up with several house restaurants to provide a more intimate and different experience for your wedding! Personally I feel that restaurants provide a more warm and cozy atmosphere, so best suited for smaller and more intimate weddings or solemnization. Most restaurants that we recommend also have an outdoor terrace so it's suitable for couples who wish to have outdoor solemnization!

Of course, if you wish to hold your wedding at the usual hotel banquets, we'll be happy to help you with the planning as well!

I went for my friend's wedding and it was one of the nicest I have been to. She highly recommended her planner to me and I met up with her. i wanna engage her as well cuz she is planning for 2 of our mutual friend wedding and so far they are happy with her service.

However, the planner is already taken on my intended wedding date. I have reserved the date with my hotel but I haven't booked yet. Should I change my wedding date cuz I really want that particular planner to be around on my wedding date or should I engage another planner?

Any recommendation please email me at [email protected]

Do not engage Wedding diary lily Liu! Totally money minded . I requested flowers to be thrown upon marching out and ahe forgot , saying there were to many flowers! Yet she charged me $50 for them. Why have adiscussion about how to let the guests know when to throw them and hve them placed at the aisle . The whole packet was left on the table . She forgot yet refused to admit. Then she displaed the one photo I told her not to. After carefully going through each photo ad have her assistant write it down. Blatant mistake . After the wedding she didn't even say goodbye just sneaked off . No apology no email . Nothing . Totally bad service . Very unpleasant experience . Also was not even able to choose my own flowers. Do not engage wedding diary for yor wedding.

Well, for my case I'm lucky enough to work in hotel F&B for a couple of years and got a bit of knowledge here and there.

Wedding planner is not a must to have unless u know wat you really wan if not you can plan all this by yourselves. I help a couple of my close friends to plan and coordinate their wedding. Most importantly is the communication between the couple and the banquet captain or the manager.

Understood that some of the little tricks or practice that some hotels will do. You may not wish to know. What I can say is, things may look good on the outside but not the inside.

Hi, I am really excited to read that having a wedding planner can actually save money as the planner may have good deals with other photography firms / gowns /vendors etc.....

Any wedding planners to recommend that has a good track record of saving money over all these deals? would really appreciate as I dont have a big budget for wedding.... :(

You can try do-wed planners. They have a talk coming up and they mentioned that they do have many discounts with vendors and restaurants and hotels.

Personally I am gg for the moment wedding planners as my fiancé has done most of the work and I just need their help to take over from here.

Me and my brother both engaged The Wedding Entourage for our big day. mine was pretty last minute and I went to them with a timeline of less than four weeks to get my solemnisation. Their experience and contact manage to get me a venue I always dream off and also help take a lot of stress off my HB and myself. They have good relationship with a lot of vendors hence able to get things done nice and promptly. I am truly amazed by their commitment, speed and efficiency. The next big one will be my customary wedding which will be plan by them as well. I will strongly recommend them if anyone of you haven't found one. Cheers

Hi Leess18, when and where is their talk? I tried going through their website and didnt see anything.

Hi Redkan, yes let me go talk and find out more abt Wedding Entourage too.

Do you girls really think Wedding Planners can save money? My HTB still think it is more expensive generally... :D

leess18

Personally I feel that it depends on what you want and also the contacts of the planner. If you get the good planner, you might be able to save due to the good working relationship of the planner with the vendors. However I suggest that you need to do your own due diligence as well and not rely fully on the planner. The planner can give you a second opinion but ultimately you are the one making the decision.

Can anyone share with me how much does wedding planner charge (cost for wedding planner only)?

Thank so much :)

It really depends on what are your requirements. Wedding planning fees can really vary depending on level of experience and also whether it is a full service or actual day coordination only.

Do you need me to recommend my planner to you?

Thank. Please recommend to me. :) I came across a wedding planner on a wedding show, 888 for 2 planners full service (only cost for planner) so not sure about the surcharge.
