Hi Softee,
You like Vera Wang too? I love her designs and had my heart set on a VW gown until i read that each gown supposedly costs US$6k and above!!
So what i did was to refer to mags and asked my bridal shop to copy the design.

They do charge an arm and a leg! Although in the US, her gowns start from US$2000 (very simple one) and up. Depends a lot too on the style you like. If you're looking for something simple, then it will not be in the US$6k range.

You need to make appointment with the link in order to view the gowns. They don't entertain walk-in at all. The sales people there very nice and personal. They will actually curtained off the VW section, sit you down, show you the catalogue, before allowing you to try on the gowns. It's actually quite a nice experience. Her gowns are beautiful.. just that it won't be custom made to your size, come in the usual Americal size 4, 6 etc, and they will do the alternation when gown is in. Need to order the gowns at least 6-9 mths in advance. Hope this help.

I did not have a very pleasant experience with them initially. They made me wait for an hour even though i made an appointment with them a week before.
After which, they did not even apologise.
I am not impressed with their service...

You can try TanYoong.
My friend who got married recently had her gown from him and she swears by his qauality.
He is very detailed and can work around the most difficult material.
I've got mine from him and hope that it'll turn out alright.
However, he is quite pricey compared to many local designers.
Therefore, you should see him and discuss further.

I recently went to try on VW gowns. A total of 5 gowns and I was very very pleased with the service. They lady was very patient and even gave recommendations. But alas, they are so expensive. The 2 gowns that I liked were SGD21K and SGD15K. Not just an arm and a leg.
But I must say the workmanship was fantastic. The way the material feels on your skin was heavenly. Very rich and secure, cos everything is built in. No need corset or girdle or any of those horrible things!

I ring them but they mentioned that they only do alteration for Vera Wang dress that is bought from them. If you have gotten from someone else and not from The Link at Shangri-la, they will not do the alter.

ABOUT THE DRESS:
Ivory colour in full taffeta silk.
Modern, clean A-line shape with asymmetrical ruffle details.
Size 4, and has been tailored (at the Link) to fit a size XS-S bride - approx 32"-34" at the chest, and 27" at the waist. Height good for 158cm - 164cm.
As with all Vera Wang gowns, it has an in-built corset and doesn't need a separate can-can to fluff up the skirt.

If you like it, the gown will be yours for S$3,200. It is in perfect condition as it will be perfectly cleaned and pressed by a professional laundry for vera wang gowns.
