One of the highly negelected space in a HDB unit is the service yard. Spruce the space up with sleek windows and doors, and add a table where you could fold the laundry! A once can’t-bother-to-dress-it-up space could now look all spiffy!

In a narrow entryway, use full height mirrors to amplify the sense of space, and to reflect light. Add mood and drama with ambience lights and a mirror that is tinted bronze or grey.

If mirror like yesterday is not your thing, then consider build-up cabinet along the entryway that could be used to stow away shoes and umbrella. Use light and airy colours like white and probably one that have a textured surface for an interesting finish.

An open concept kitchen with kitchen peninsula that double up as both storage and dining area. It is also great when you are having guests, and they could linger around the peninsula while you are prepping in the kitchen.

Did you know that the size of the tiles affects the outlook of your toilet? Using big tiles in small places makes the space appear bigger than it actually is. And, if you are particular about grouting, large tiles require less grouting, thus makes for easier maintenance.

While having an open concept, it is possible to provide clear segregation between kitchen and living room space. By using the same neutral palette, it helps to unify the home theme keeping the look consistent in these different spaces.

Shaker style cabinets have came back in style, and would lent a nice homely feel to an interior. Using soft grey which complemented the wood tones of the flooring and table nicely, the full height kitchen cabinets give the home owners ample storage while still looking neat and sharp with all the linear lines.

Instead of doing a half-height fixed panel windows, how about bringing it all the way down to almost the floor? It makes the space look alot bigger and brighter, and sleek at the same time. And you would never go wrong with black, white and marble!

If you love the opulence of marble, why not take it up from the floor all the way up to the wall. Keen on the look, but worried about the costs? Cheaper alternative to get the same look is to use homogenous tiles, or laminate that mimics marble design or a wallpaper.

Black is such a stark and bold colour that when used as your carpentary, everything else have to be subdued. So we kept the design sleek and simple, with no door handles. For contrast, light coloured flooring is proposed so as to introduce a little lightness in the space.

Honeycomb tiles are a statement on its own. Keep everything else sleek and clean and let the honeycomb pattern stand out. Here, we proposed the use of white tiles for the wall, to contrast the grey floor which is one of the easiest colour to maintain.

If you find honeycomb tiles to be too outlandish, consider going classic with subway tiles in a classic argyle arrangement. Create contrast with black framed mirror that would modernise this timeless design.

In this third installment of a series of toilet proposals, this marble subway tiles toilet come with sitting ledge. Perfect for those of us who likes to take a slow bath. Also, when seated, you would be able to scrub your legs and feet better and cleaner. We added ledge too above the water closet as part of the small detailing in this hotel standard toilet.

A customised TV console on top of a platform with the same laminate finish. To keep wiring and set top boxes out of sight, we created grooves in the centre of the console so that you could use your remote to control the gadgets without needing to open the door.

These soft pastel hues in the kitchen and dining is probably one of the most soothing colour palette for an interior. Pair that with marble subway tiles as backsplash, and you’d get a pretty astounding kitchen area.

This galley style kitchen is kept sleek and simple, and monochromatic so that the subway tiles would be the focal point in this space. The linear looking cooker hood is in keeping with the clean lines that we designed for this kitchen.

One of the most important discussion that we will have is the kitchen cabinet compartments. It is good to let us know your lifestyle and kitchen needs so that we could propose the most adequate storage compartments for you.

Classic doors are one of those that have the flexibility to be in colours that would complement your home. Apart from being one of the most affordable options, classic door do provide an interesting visual with the different kind of moldings that are available.

If you are into marble, but do not want too visible marble veins, there are definitely options in the market for softer marbling look. Here, the marble is complemented with contrasting black vanity and mirror backing. If you are also considering black fixtures in the toilet, consider matt ones. It’s more exclusive. Don’t you love how sleek this toilet is?

A close up view of the marble subway tiles with beveled edges. If you look closely at this image, you would notice that we hid the power points under the top cabinet beside the dish rack, so that the subway tiles appears seamless. Kitchen is one space that could constantly be messy, but it is with such little details that helps keep the kitchen neat and sleek.

Probably a good layout if you do not like sharing space for cooking and washing of dishes. This arrangement gives you ample cooking space and washing area separately and yet, still have a good flow for a functional kitchen.

Balance the boldness of subway tiles with the soft elegance of marble. The different feel to these two tiles, amplifies the qualities of the others more when paired together. Plus, you get to play with differing textures that would be a visual treat to the eyes!

Separate spaces without walls to create an open interior that is filled with lights! The separate spaces can still function individually when you need it to, or open up the sliding doors if you are entertaining and need one big space.

Need storage spaces? Consider a built-in cabinet in simple design like this so that it blends into the interior rather than sticking out. Install two swing doors for a wider entrance that helps with the ventilation and also to keep the space bright!

An all white kitchen with a white tempered glass backsplash is perfect for one who likes a neat and fuss free kitchen. For ample counter space, we proposed this galley style layout with one side used purely as prep space. It’s every cooking mother’s dream to have!

Black and white concept can follow through from the living room, to the kitchen and all the way to the bathroom. Due to the contrasting colour scheme, keep the design simple and sleek so that it does not appear cluttered.

Black is so stark, and yet when used for carpentary, it will exude a sense of cosiness and luxury in any space. This walk-in space comes complete with vanity, so that you could dress up in a jiffy when you stepped out of the toilet!

At first glance, the design of this home may look a little out there with many strong pieces. But, we unify the theme of the home with a grey and white palette in the living, dining and all the way to the kitchen so that it looks put together. We then warm up the space with wood elements, picking up colour from the main door.

What is more opulent than a gold knob on a grey cabinet? A gold tap on a marble kitchen top! If you are into a little drama, you would appreciate the punch of zest that gold would lend to the subtlety of grey carpentary! It doesn’t hurt to be a little bit extravagant doesn’t it?

In BTO build-ups, HDB design will include a border tile across the kitchen. If the colour does not suit your colour scheme, you can always consider laying tempered glass as backsplash that would help make your kitchen look sleek and classy! This is a cheaper alternative than overlaying tiles with new tiles as backsplash.

Placing a full height mirror parallel to a light source, like in this case, the chandelier, helps to reflect light and make the space brighter at night. Consider tinted mirror as an option, that could impart a little more opulence to any given space and still create an impression of a bigger space.

Mixing different mediums for feature wall could be one way to create an interesting visual. Here, we balanced the stark black console and framing with veinous marble laminate and mirror as a border. While there are a few elements here, we kept the design simple so that the focus will always be on TV watching!

Why restrict yourself to one mirror, when a cabinet full of mirrored doors help to not only reflect light and expand the space, but also as your final check after you dress up and before you step out of the house!

How much of a headboard is too much headboard? Truly, there’s never too much. Using the full length of the wall as the backdrop of the headboard, your eyes are tricked into thinking that the room is extremely wide (although technically, this room really is wide!). Plus, using wood pattern with wider grains prevent the headboard from looking too cluttered.

How much love do we have for oak and grey? So much! These two colours are in such strong harmony for a light and airy palette that it would always please the eyes. The cabinet and console are made to provide additional storage for the homeowners to stow away their shoes and electronics peripherals, to help keep the space neat and sleek.

In the vast spread of grey, white and black, throw in one wood colour and it’ll help to warm up an otherwise neutral space. In this layout, you can also have a view of the sky as your television backdrop, and have the shutter closed off for dark theater like setting.

People asked if it is possible to turn an ordinary bedroom into a luxurious hotel room? YES, we say! This bedroom interior is designed with full height customised headboard (in Chevron patterns, no less!), custom side table, custom study desk and we even install his & hers reading lamp to perfect that hotel room setting! More often than not, a vanity is always an after thought when it should never be. We spend quite a fair bit of time getting our makeup and hair done and it is only right that we do it in the best possible setting. Against a marble backdrop, we place a functional sink over a floating shelf with ample space! Doesn’t this scream opulence?

Choosing tiles for the toilet is one of the most important aspect of home renovation. Mix different tile patterns is great for visual but, use the same colour palette so that the small space does not look too busy and cluttered.

Here’s taking a closer look at the toilet tiles of the toilet that we featured yesterday. The herringbone tiles was made as a featured wall, complementaing the veinous marble. We used wood to give texture difference in the space and help to warm up this cosy toilet.

In this final picture of the toilet that we shared the last few days, we are showcasing the customised mirror to complement the vanity. We proposed for a narrow mirrow instead of full height for easy maintenance. Having tiles as the backsplash instead of the mirror, makes it easier to clean rather than cleaning water marks.
