Hi,

I'm new to this forum.

I am considering to hold my wedding solemnization at The lawn at Raffles Hotel in Oct 2006.

Any comments/feedback to share on this?

you won't regret holding your wedding solemnization at the Lawn.. I had mine last may and I can still remember so vividly.. The place was so romantic and the service was great!!

My main concern now is the food.
My package only serve Canapes.

What time did u hold it?
Care to share with me your experience?

yelody, i had the same problem with u. I held my solemnnisation at 5.30-7.30pm as I don't wish to solemnise under a hot sun. I understand that the standard package only includes 5 canapes. Hence I had requested my coordinator to "customize" to my needs. I want my guest to fill their stomach since it's already dinner time already. We have more varieties, including tim sum, more canepes, desserts like fruits... The spread was quite a lot and my guest all had their praises. I let my coordinator to decide for me as he say fried bee hoon, chicken wings, will not be able to "match" the theme...

I had my coordinator to customize the menu too.
the menu does not include things like bee hoon and stuffs....more of finger food. but i got them to change the 'tidbits' item such as potato chips to fried rice instead.

How much was your package the other time?

yelody, i think bee hoon and stuff does not really match the garden theme right? that's why I was really happy to see so many nice varieties canapes and fingers food.
My package was i think 3.2k for 20 or 30 persons. Additional person will have to top up $65... i think so , really forgot already. how much was your package then?

You've got to be prepared to pay if you hold your solemnisation at the lawn. If you want drapes to decorate the gazebo, that item alone will set you back by 1k. The bottom line is if you are willing to pay a high price for the venue, they can definately do a good job. The basic package is 1999+++ for 20 pax. Consist of 5 canapes each guest + free flow of drinks for the duration + some flower decor. Mine will be held there ard mid of Dec

Did you take the $1,999+++ solemnisation package? What other deco did you add and at what are the top up. Did you opt to upgrade the canapes to a dinner buffet? Thanks in advance.

The Lawn is simply beautiful!

I just had my solemnization on Sat. Everything went smooth, the set up, service, finger food was nice...
