Hi secretgarden, why dun you want to take photoshoot? Its worthwhile and your gowns will be beautifully captured during photoshoot.
I am sure everything will turn out nice:p

hey Secretgarden, i can't believe i'm married!!! Everything went very well. I had an amazing time at The Fullerton, but an equally if not more amazing experience at the Oriental the next night. Both hotels can't be faulted, really.

The Fullerton's banquet captain Hafiz was very experienced and he really made me feel a lot less nervous. He's got a very calming disposition and went through all the steps with us so we knew exactly what to expect.

Food-wise, no hiccups either. Most guests thought the venue's (Straits Room) red and black setup was stunning.

i haven't gotten my pics back yet...i'm so glad it went well.

Hi Nitestarz,
Just find that AD is the moment which can really capture the true happy moments instead of the pre-PS.... well thou i still can't convince myself not to take PS..
biggrin.gif

welcome back Mrs Brokenbudgie =)
Is good to heard that both hotels able to provide a memorable wedding for you...
whoa red & black setting sounds romantic

i still got a long way to go...

hey Secretgarden, why not do a pre-PS that's different from the usual? I didn't want the corny/tacky/trite poses and pictures so we didn't do any studio pics at all. It was good we did do a pre-PS after all though cos the family thought the album was really unique.

Yap I agreed with brokenbudgie:D My friend actually has an art gallery of their photos at the recep. Pre-PS can be happy too. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during the PS.
Hi brokenbudgie, my turn will be in december, tell me more abt ur wedding ya.

Nitestarz, all set? p.s. Our wedding celebrations may appear in a local bridal magazine at the end of the year...look out for the cross-cultural wedding..

Hi, Yes, I jus attended a wedding dinner there last night! It was one of the best wedding I have ever attended. They had a Orchid theme, every table had orchid flowers. They were beautiful. My friend hired a planner to plan their wedding and I believe they've done a good job. The live music was good and all the guest participated in the mood! My friend renew her vows that evening and it was very nice. I've never seen anyone renewed their vows at their wedding day since she ROM a year ago. The emcee was also very good. I really enjoyed it!

I think that Fullerton's dinner spread was excellent. I've been to all the 5 star hotels. Their food is the best I've tasted so far. Service may be a little slow but there were 40 over tables ,it will happen in large capacity ballrooms.

Hi ladies,

Was at fullerton with my FW, during the bridal show. I felt the straits room was nice, natural light and the lilac setting was good. Only straits room too small.

Was not that impress with the ballroom as the oval setting the round chandelier at the centre.

To me its abit too noisy, as ball room area is rather public accessible.

But overall impression was good, so is the loft suite, good for relatives to chill out before the day.

As the cost really doesnt varies too much from the rest of the hotels around the region, Marina Area and even intercon.

Was at the Intercon too. at May/June the Wedding show also Ted Wu bridal.

Felt Intercon, bridal suite to be more appealing but the place rather noisy as its joint with a shopping centre and the view not that good.

Was rather sceptical about food portion. Fished some info from my F-FIL that must find a place whereby food is good and enough of proportion. To satisfy guest.

So far have fix reaction from Fullerton. Ladies care to enlighten and help.

Thanks

As the price its rather the same through the region. Marina Mandarin, Ritz, Conrad, Intercon, and Swiss all going for a price hike next yr across the board.

Sorry for the long post

Ladies please comments please on fullerton in general and also the wedding show last sunday

Thanks

Hi Dark Wing, I feel the quality of food and portions are better if the dinner is held at Straits Room than the Ballroom. I've heard bad reviews about food served in Ballroom but 2 good reviews about food served in Straits Room. No bad reviews about food served in Straits Room and 1 good review about food served in Ballroom. Not sure why this is the case though.

Most people are concerned with making the way down Fullerton's ballroom - the steps can be quite intimidating. Also the toilets are at the cocktail area level, not at the ballroom level area so guests have to climb up and down if they wish to use toilets during dinner. This may be a problem for older relatives. I have a blind relative and several old relatives.. that's why didn't choose fullerton ballroom for my wedding dinner.

If you plan to choose Ritz, do note that the min tables for weekends is 60 tables. Fullerton is min 40 tables (I think) and max 48 tables for weekends.

I personally find Marina Mandarin rather old.

I like Conrad.

Hi Cactus,

Thanks, that was mine key concern. As washroom is rather away from the main area, not even at the reception area.

I have old relatives who have walking difficulties. I was actually very impress with straits. the natural light and setting is grand with the white setting.

Reception is a floor above, on top of the pillars rather unique.

I personally like the steps. Its very unquie to be marching down a flight of steps instead of the usual walking into a Ballroom. Feel that its very magical & fairytale to be marching down.
happy.gif

Think a lot of hotels have toilets that is not near the Ballroom so I'm not particularly concerned about it. But think they have a separate area guests that have walking difficulties.

I attended a wedding dinner some time back with my husband & we both felt the portions & quality of food in Ballroom was good. Think the price that we are paying at Fullerton is quite worthwhile...

Hope it helps!

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. I also heard from my friend that the food was good in Fullerton, but maybe the portion might be small for guz, which normally eat more. We have just book Fullerton for our wedding next year. Looking forward to it now. Lots of things prepare and research ... =) ... Thanks again for sharing yar ...

Hi Ladies,

Anyone used the Straits room for church wedding?

So far Fullerton still tops my list.

I am intending to Hold my Church wedding there then hold my dinner in the ballroom.

As the long walk in will look nice with the daylight thru the windows in the Straitsroom. With the holding area at the top level is good place with all the daylight coming in.

Any one know how much it cost to get Straits room for a few hrs?

Cant get fullerton out of my list, the new atmosphere and ambience it brings. Just hard to find in other hotels.

Ladies please help.

As we are at the verge of putting pen to paper. As we are telling ourself, as long as it nice for all the money will be well spend.

Hi Pongy, I am also keeping touch with Louis and will be meeting him this sun to discuss more on the packages. Have you met him yet? I wonder if I can get cockage waived and other perks and the package is really expensive and limited.

Hi Dark Wing,

For Lunch, there is this wedding reverly package at the Strait Room (or other function room at fullerton) which is:
$75++ for lunch buffet and
$55++ for Tea Reception

which includes free flow of drinks, fresh floral centrepiece, 20% complimentary self-parking for guest.
with minimum 50 persons

---
For Dinner @ Straits Room (Renaissance Wedding Package),
weekdays are $1288++ per table
weekdays are $1388++ per table
for a minimum 8 tables and maximum 12 tables.

Package details you may call Fullerton or email them for it. They are very prompt in replying

I am more or less confirmed taking the Renaissance Wedding Package but finds the perks given is very few.
Maybe you can share with me what other stuff the hotel is offering you other than the standard package.

Cheers,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

We fell in love with the Straitsroom. But unable to hold the minimum required tables for our wedding.. But me and my WTB just thot of having Straits room as our solemnisation cum simple church wedding. As the walkway is long and holding it around evening period 5pm.

So did thot of doing that for a small group of family and friends.

Then the big banquet is at the ballroom around 0730pm. around 35 tables.

Still looking around. but Fullerton is hard to beat but Sheraton and Marriot will be in my list.. as cost big concern, its 200 lower.

Thanks for the info. When's your AD? Mine should be around dec 08.

Hi Darkwing, my AD will be May '08.

Your plan is great but it is going to cost big time (using both the Straits Room and the Ballroom)

Actually if you have 32 tables, why not try Hotel Intercontinental Ballroom? It is really big, pillarless and is really pretty too.

For me, the max no of tables (including all those miscellaneous relatives and friends)is 25 so Hotel Intercontinental is out for me
sad.gif

I am very comfortable with 12 tables at the Straits Room.

Hi bluedusk,

Thanks for the advise and caution as well. Still my WTB will have the last say.

Gng to Sheraton to scout around this weekend for their wedding show.

Inter-con the cost is revising upwards. I only got the cost to July 08. And the cost is almost there.

I was thinking of the fullerton eden garden. only I read from ashley (not sure rem her name) its rather ex. and her total cost almost 50K real scary.

Anyway thanks for the tip.

Will take note. congrats on your wedding. =)

Hi Darkwing,

No problem. In fact the latest news is that I may still have my wedding at Hotel Intercontinental.
(it is simply too beautiful and grand)

I am having my church holy matrimony and dinner together. Even though it is not theatre seating, it is still okay as long the setting is done properly and there are ushers to ensure no one make noise at the back.

Anyway I will still be making my way down to meet up with Louis from Fullerton to discuss but I believe our minds are set on Hotel IC.

Hi Vanilla,

My HTB also called up fullerton regarding 09 packages and its not open up yet. But he was assured by the person that they will keep him in the loop for 09 packages once its out. (which they mentioned will be out in a 2-3mths time). So you might want to let the sales person to keep you in the '09 loop' also.
