There's a shop in Suntec call Liano.. im sure it's quite well known, based on some bad comments in another thread.

Anyway , I've bought a dining set for $888, and i tot it's quite a good buy. I've paid 100bucks for deposit and insist on the sales person to write on the invoice that i can use the 100bucks to buy other item instead in the event that i chose not to buy .. hahaha.. in case i find another better buy outside.

Anyone got any more comments about Liano? Or comments on the Kyoto dining set?

I know which table you talking about. The one with bences right? But heard is plywood so not solid wood from according to the sale assistant. If you dun mind then shd be ok. Home merchant having sales for display set think also quite cheap. Quality shd be better than Liano, can go down see see look look.

May I know any one have brought furniture from S&C from Ang MO Kio St 32 Blk 338, my friend told me the furniture there nice and modern, the furniture using solid wood. Still can tell them what type of design u want, they able to get from oversea. Not sure how gd the furniture there and the service. Can any ones brought or know about this company, pls feedback?

Don't buy from Worldw*de Furnishing or Summ*t House. They are under the same company. I have very bad experience - lousy customer service, empty promises, lies, lame excuses, teak of bad quality, wrong dimensions, bad attitude... A lot of my time was wasted. All they want is money, money, money...

Hubby and I are sometimes very affected by this unhappy experience. Imagine our xin1 qing2 are affected by a furniture shop and yet we are paying them so much $$!! It's so ridiculous! Just hope that our bad luck is your learning point. Sharing here and hope that there will be no more victims like us.

anyone has any experience making dining tables and chairs with pagoda teak? I'm considering going with them. I always wanted to have a teak dining tables & chair. But just saw some designs from barang barang that I quite like.

I would like to know whether is the quality of worksmanship good? and the after sales good?

I've bought my dining tables and chairs with them too. Quality wise is ok, i wouldn't say it's the best. Service is good. I've no problem with them. I also bought a shoe rack and bed side table with them, and it's all custom made. I think their price is very reasonable, it's like getting a similar piece from barang barang during their warehouse sale.

Hi Little Lamb, I like the color of the dining set. My choice of color will be somewhat similar. I like the table design too, it is one of my shortlisted design. As for the chairs, I saw some Oak-made chairs in barang barang and I sort of like it. I cannot seem to like any chairs at Pagoda, that my current problem now.

For teak wood, if you see that the thickness of the timber is too thin, it indicates that the timber is not old enough and there will be high possibility of cracks...Hence, it's advised to pay for thicker timber but hence the cost. However, our experiences are that it's worth it.

The other things that we noted after buying is that Scanteak is not the best place to buy Teakwood products. If you see their products carefully, it's more about their designs that sell than the quality of the timber used. You may have problems of cracks. If the table is light, you may want to check whether is it Teakwood veneer/plywood or real timber. The difference in prices will make you take a back seat and rethink.

I got it fr Teakland Gallery, but they dun have lotsa designs. Some basic ideas & then u can sketch ur designs for custom-make.. Other furniture pieces can be found there, so no need to headache over custom-making

We didn't quite bargain, coz we went ard to see, this was a fairly low rate oredi. The lowest I found before Teakland was $1.4k @ Changi Village Antiques (Katong)

I can't comment if Changi Village Antiques is not as cheap.. Tt time I was only looking for poster bed, so Teakland was cheaper. I think if you get more items fr either place, got more bargaining power.
CVA may not have a lot of stock for you to browse thru, but alot more at TG.
