Hee hee...

Same here. St Clare Hall.

How many guests do you have? I have about 350 guests tentatively, am afraid the hall might be a bit too crowded.

Mine is only lunch reception, no wedding dinner.

Which time slot did you choose?

Hi Minolta

I will have about 100 guests in church and about 280 for dinner.

Wow... 350 is a lot.. hehe... Will you be having a dinner as well?

minolta01

New Member
Nope, most likely not. That is why we have lots of guests for church reception.

Will try to cut down if possible. Have you decide on your catering? I will be using Rasel.

Hey, me 2!! I' m also getting from Rasel! Haha, they are really so popular. They said that they have done receptions at St Mary's many many times ... : )

Yes yes, Rasel are so familiar with the Church. St. Mary will cater with them most of the time.

As I was with the Alpha group recently, I had tried their food a number of times. Really good. That's why I didn't bother sourcng for other catering.

charleon

Oh I see... That's good to know as I have never tried their food before. I went with them because of strong recommendations... so I'm certainly glad to hear from you about the food.

Which bridal studio did you sign up with? Mine is with WhiteLink. I just went for fitting on Tues as I will be taking my photos on Dec 19 :)

How's your preparations?

Wah, that means I must be really kiasu.. Haha. I had my PS in October and the album will be ready in Jan. My BS is Bridal De Couture.

Actually we have tentatively booked the church and St. Clare with Father John Paul. Have not discuss the details yet.

By the way, have you prepare the wedding booklet?

charleon

Hehe... Church part we have done with Fr JP. And have submitted certain documents to him. The wedding booklet is only half done. We havent finalise the songs........

Have you gone for EE?

How was yr photo shoot? Did you enjoy it?

minolta01

Mine was not EE, is MPC (Marriage Preparation Course). It's 6 sessions. Completed last September or October.

PS was fun but very tiring. Especially the night shoot, can see our tired face...

So where are you planning to go for the outdoor shoot?

By the way, do you attend the mass in St. Mary. I will go there on Sunday either 12.30pm or 5.30pm session.

charleon

Planning to go to Little India and Ponggol... we chose little india because we think it will be full of colour and vibrancy... Ponggol for the lallang and the beach...

What about you? Where did you go?

Oh.. we usually attend the 5.30pm sunset mass on Sat at St Mary's...

minolta01

Haha, we went to Ponggol as well. Nice! In fact, I prefer the outdoor shoot more than indoor.

Lolzz.. Seems like only the two of us here.

Hehe.. Yalor... Just 2 of us here..

Can I check with you.. when you get the soft copy of the selected wedding photos from your Bridal Studio, are the soft copy touched up?

I was told the soft copy returned to me is the original one.. no touch up... is this the normal practise?

minolta01

Hmm...

Good question! Haha.. Seems that I have never thought of that and never read about it before. Maybe can check up with other forumers in other threads..

But I have a feeling is original...

charleon

Yes, I have gone for EE in Aug'07..

I'm planning to do the rehearsal 2 days before the wedding...

How's your preparations so far?

janyen

hahaha
terrible, i guess.

my hubby is quite the lazy kind, so you can imagine who's doing most of the work...

charleon, how's the EE like? it's not slow and draggy right...

charleon

Personally, I thought the EE was a little tiring as it starts on a Fri evening and it's packed till Sun and ends with an evening Mass...

But it really covers a wide range of topics for sharing and discussion with your other half so it's a good avenue to talk about certain issues..

Go with a open mind and enjoy it :)

Hi Babes,
Just the thread that I need.
May I know how much is the booking of the church itself? How about St Clare's hall? I've not had the time to call up Fr to ask. But have heard from my friends that it's rather pricey as compared to other churches?
Just went to St Francis today, asked the priest, and he said $500 inclusive of the hall usage.
Would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Hi Minolta,
How did your meeting with Fr JP go?

minolta01

Wah, thanks Charleon!

You have the info that I need. Actually is just to confirm the timimg and St. Clare with Fr John Paul. The rest I have to liaise with Angela, but she seems busy.

Anyway I have confirmed the catering with Rasel this morning and confirming the printing of the invitaion cards. As for the rest like wedding booklet and church decoration, I need to speak with Angela.

I heard that the church decoration is so-called standard. They will use the same colour theme for the three couples on that day itself. Is that true? As I wanted a purple theme, what if the other couple wants other colour?

Hello Isabella,

We will marry at St Mary on Dec 23.
If you are having it on Dec 26, then the decor will be more beautiful since its christmas time =)

Hi gals,

I emailed father John Paul to check his availability for the date I requested but he did not reply me. How you gals contact him to check if he is free to preside your wedding on the date you want? Do you gals go down the Parish Office personally to look for him or email or call him first?

Father John Paul may take some time to reply your email. Perhaps you may want call him if say you are looking for him urgently.

Hi,

Does anyone know if the flower decoration ($200) covers only the flowers on the altar or if it includes the flowers in the aisle (if needed)? Thanks.

Hi All,

I would like to find out if anyone has any suggestion for me, given that we will be holding our wedding mass @ 1130am and St Claire Hall has already been pre-booked by the 2pm couple, and I don't really know where we should hold our wedding reception after the mass.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi Mimi,

Maybe you can consider the Piazza or another way is the forecourt (along the corridor, near the Ladies) I'll be holding my reception there because is more convenient (I don't have many guests) and it only cost $200 for 4 hours.

micmik

New Member
Given that the wedding will be in June, the only way we can hold it at the Piazza/forecourt is if we provide some fan/air-conditioning, right? Don't want my guests to be sweating in the sun and the marquee seems really expensive. How many pax will be you having for your reception?
What about the canteen - is it too small/warm/dark?

nikiko

New Member
Hi mimi,

I not sure about how the canteen looks like - never been there before. But I saw one of my relative holding his reception at the forecourt which I think is quite presentable and most importantly is affordable - btw, $200 is already not a small sum just to book the place to hold a reception. St Claire is definitely out of question coz it costs $400 for few hrs of reception. I have not confirm my guest list for church wedding, kinda headache coz I'm not sure who want and can come. Maybe I shall just give an estimation around 50 pax.

Oh ya, now I am preparing the wedding booklet. Do anyone here have a sample of the format? I'm not refering to the content in the booklet (that I have gotten) I'm refering the soft copy of the how the booklet will look that I can bring to the printing service for printing.

Hihi,
does anyone know if we can do the flowers on our own instead of asking the church lades? Also, do you know if the unity candles are placed on candle holders or on the altar?

cubitus81

Hi there,

I was told that only the church ladies can do the flowers, and I can't really decide the colors of the flowers (since the decoration will be used by all the couples who will get married on the day).

nikiko

hihi,

For me, most likely I won't be engaging the flower decoration service because I'm holding my wedding service on a Friday, not Saturday, hence the total cost is on me, $300 which me and my hubby think is quite expensive for just a 45 mins session. Abit disappointing thinking the church may look abit plain without the flowers decoration but on the other side of me, I'm feeling the heart pain if we were to pay for $300 just for the short session. However, I'll be having an alternative to fill up the atmosphere - I plan to emphasis more on my flower girls and bridemaids baskets/corsages with more details, that means not simple one.

Hi ladies! I have the same sentiment as Mel. Am wondering if anyone has the breakdown of all the items that entails a church wedding reception and the total budget. This will help me to decide if I want to proceed with a reception or having it somewhere else altogether.

Appreciate any advise please. Thanks.
