Hi everyone,

I will be having my solemnization during my wedding lunch after 1st march in.

Not sure anyone has done this before:

Groom fetch Bride in the morning (bride will not wear the gown in the morning)
Tea ceremony at both sides
Proceed to hotel, bride and groom make up and dress up for lunch solemnization

Anyone can advise me whether to do my cake cutting 1st or do the solemnization 1st after the 1st march in?

Lunch commerce after solemnization
Play childhood montage
Thank you speech
Photo taking at all tables

Anyone done this before? can share with me your planning and advise, thanks.

Hiya,

My wedding was similar to yours. My suggestion is to cut the cake during the 2nd march-in or after the childhood montage.

This is because your guests are probably going to be hungry during lunch so to see a cake being cut first and then solemnisation, they may get impatient and not concentrate on your solemnisation which is the most memorable part of your wedding.

So do the solemnisation first after your first march-in to capture your guests' attention and leave the cake to later. The cake is really not that important esp. if it's a fake one, haha.

Hi espenine, I will not have 2nd march in, thinking of 1st march in, solemnisation and play the montage after the 4th course follow by a short speech then photo taking. For the cake cutting, I don't know when to slot in so the sequence flow smoothly.

Ah I see, so it's very much like a western styled wedding with no change of gown. Then I suggest that you do it just before or after photo montage. If you do it before, it allows you to capture guests' attention before montage is played. If you do it after, it can be heart warming to see the sequence - from playful kids to a beautiful couple cutting wedding cake. Hope this helps!

Hi,

I am planning my wedding actual day schedule now and I am thinking of holding my ROM after first March-in as well. For those brides that have done that, was it too rush for you guys? Would it delay the timing of the dishes being served?
Thanks!

Hi all,
Mine is a wedding lunch and i intend to hold my solemnization after 1st march-in. I already told my solemnizer to arrive at 1pm. Now thinking back, it seems quite late..
Based on your past experience, how long will the solemnization ceremony take?
Will it be too late if i start serving dishes at ard 1.30pm?
