ya.. i worried it rains too.. hmm the tables are under the shelter, so not that hot. unless u have a big group of guest like 70 then u might request to have it in ballroom or function room. when we went down last sat, there's a solemnization at the pool side, and the couple has 70 guests, so amara let them have their buffet at the ballroom.

Hi all,
Just want to praise Amara for a job well done for our solemnisation last Sunday. Tifanny was very prompt in her replies, and Steve and his crew were efficient and attentive all day. Kudos to Amara...=)

hmm...we were told we have to pay additional $400 for function room when we first liased with them last year. But we didn't really clarify this after signing the contract..hee...just crossed our fingers for good weather =) but if your coordinator says don have to pay extra..then good for you..but better make sure its written down in black n white in yr contract ya? good luck in yr plannning =)

Hi gals,
I had booked ROM at amara for this June.
can someone email me ([email protected]) the link to relook the standard decor from Amara?

I'm thinking is it worth topping up $250 for additional decor as per advise by the coordinator.

Hi Bean,

Yes! Thank you very much.
I had recently spoke to Amara's contract florist and they had email me the pictures of the standard decor and what will be added with a topup of $350.

really find that the topup is not worth it.
so i will just addon my own decor.

anyone need the pictures can PM me, with your email address

Hi,

May i know what are included in the standard ROM package ? Is it stated somewhere in the contract? The wedding planner did not mention to me anything other than choosing the flowers type for the centrepiece.

Thanks =)

HX> thanks for your reply! Just wanted to confirm what the hotel said is true cos I happened to walk into Amara last week & saw on the display that a couple was having hi-tea solemnisation for 3 hours. My fiance called to ask & they said tat couple paid extra. Yeah, mine's from 3-5pm too, same as yours.

Hi Ladies,

I'm having my ROM next Saturday (7th June) at amara.

Basically the decor is not stated on the contract. However, a month or more before your day, the coordinator will email you a checklist asking you the choose the type of flowers (roses/gerberas) & colors (max. 2 colors)

Standard decor includes:
- Reception table (2 floral arrangement in glassware), hotel will provide Guest sign-in scroll, looks more like a card though.
- Dining table, each will have a floral centrepiece
- Theatre seating (for your guest during your solemnisation) will only be in white covers, no floral at all, no petals along the aisle too. Topup required if you want the pew floral.
- Solemnisation table (under the Pavillion) will have 1 or 2 floral arrangement and all 5 white covered chairs will have a gold sash tied.

Hope this helps. Personally I'm not doing the add-on decor ($350, not worth it), had only choose to topup for a specific type of rose as part of the decor.

What I plan to do will be this, which makes more economical senses to me:

1) Buy a few stalks of roses to addon to the decor
(had check Far East Flora, for those common roses from India/ China, can be bought at about less than $15 for a pack of 20 stalks)

2) Buy rose petals to be scattered along the aisle and scatter some on the tables
(about $10 worth of rose petals should be sufficient or slightly more, i can't tell you the exact till next week)

Have fun planning your ROM

I'm enjoyed the process so far doing some DIY for a few things - invitation cards, AP/gift card box, enhance little basket for rose petals.

(Pictures of standard decor to huge to be uploaded here. email at [email protected] should you need the pictures.)

Hi all,

I have push forward my lunch solemnization to end july. So glad that everyone here is sharing their tips.

I am going down tmr to have a look at the actual set up. Anyone here has any suggestion of the pens?

For those doing DIY, perhaps you can go down to diaso, quite a number of good things can be found there. I found some very nice baskets!

Hi Jerlynn,

My pens are bought from a pushcart at Bugis, it has a signage "KAI Motion", 3 pens for $13
You can find pens with rose / tulips design, I bought the rose design.

I was at Daiso yesterday too, bought the mini baskets for my rose petals and further DIY it with ribbons and artificial roses. But I bought more items too including wedding favours, total damage of $68 but still value for $$

Hi Jerlynn, thanks. Come to think of it, mine's not exactly wedding favours - since the MEN'S DON'T GET IT.

I'm concern my lady guests melting from the heat (hehee) so will give out foldable hand fans for them to beat the heat.

Hi Seoulover,

Congrats on your ROM on 1 Jun.
Nice pics you have shared.

Hi Everyone,
I will be having my ROM this coming July.
Just wondering if the guest book that Amara provided is suitable to use gold and silver pen.

Thanks

Stella> I paid $288 for 3 hours but I think my photographer has since revised his rates recently. I signed up quite some time ago, u see. Melvin is quite friendly so you can try negotiating with him what you want. His website: www.melvinho.biz
You can view his other portfolios on his website & see if you like his style.

why are alot of people taking amara off their choice?

i did my rom there in may and me and my hubby were so happy we made the right choice. it was really lovely and the service was very good (v impressed by their attentiveness). more importantly, it was fuss free which is v impt for our busy work schedules. i would hv loved to do my traditional wedding there if not for the min table req for wkend dinners. talk to tiffany on what you need. she gives very good advice and can offer flexibility on the package details.

just to add, i did mine in a function room due to concerns about the warm weather.

i agree with Linksie, i had my rom here too last month. My auntie was telling me good choice, the service and food is very good.

im likely to have my banquet there too once we have fixed up on the date.
