Soleminzer (JP) for 2016 Brides

Dear All,

I was trying to find out more updated news on the recommended JP available for 2016 but I think the information isn't much. Do you girls have any idea?

There's alot of threads going on thus I decided to open a more focus one. We can just discuss about our JP here. :)

I saw alot of posts stating that they are rejected by 10 over JP and it got me worried. I researched the whole morning and below list are some of the JP I hope anyone of them can help me. :)

1) Mr Teo Cheong Tee
2) Dr Kwoh Chee Keong
3) Mr Eric Wong
4) Mr Phang Tai Heng
5) Mr Teh Chin Huak Zenon
6) Mr Lim Tze Beng
7) Dr Chung Tang Fong
8) Mr Koh Koh Weng
9) Mr Tan Yan Boon Alex

Do you girls have any reviews on them and/or anyone else I should add into my list?

I didn't include most of the "most popular" JP because I know they are rather hard to "booked". Please give me more advice!

No list leh, I just find and read some reviews on forum, then I'll contact. Not available, then find the next one. haha

@msjac my top choice is Mr Alex Tan follow by Mr Phang Tai Heng .. But I have not contact them yet. Cos want to secure my booking for my venue first.

I'm also a btb for mar'16 , dunno whether should i email my choice of JP now or when the date nearer then email .

@msjac I found my JP today!! Mr Lim Tze Beng.. not very well known, but saw a few good reviews of him on the forum and on a blog, and read that he is the youngest solemnizer! It's okay as we are not really looking for the grandfather-ly looking kind. Young JP also good, easy to communicate and can say how you want it to be.
So I called Mr Lim and he was really nice, he say he usually don't take booking so early, now he is only taking Jan 2016 bookings, but he agreed to do mine on 21 May 2016.
so, YAY!

Funny thing is, my HTB started to be gancheong after we got rejected by a few JPs, so he told me to contact a few at the same time instead of doing 1 by 1. So yesterday I contacted 7, 1 say not free, 2 say to contact them again next year, and 3 of them (including lim tze beng) say they are free and okay! now I have to reject the other 2, feel so bad. So maybe still better to search 1 by 1, seems like as long as you dont contact those popular one, they should be available~

Will write another post below about all the JPs I contact, for other BTB reference

  10. Chiang Heng Liang - asked to contact him again in Jan 2016
  11. Tan Peng Yam - asked to contact him again in Feb 2016
  12. Koh Kok Weng - ask to contact him again next year

  15. Tam Chee Wah - available!

Hi fellow btbs! Just wanna share my experience with all of u. I was one of the unlucky brides who engaged Mr Eric Wong and he didnt inform me that his license was expiring soon. I only found out when i tried to register my marriage online. After which i contacted almost 10 JPs n was rejected by all of them until my friend recommended me Mr Tay Hock Ann. Met up with him to sign the consent form and hes a very friendly and fatherly person. He briefed us on the solemnization procedure and what to expect on the actual day. He did mentioned that the ceremony will be a short one which is good for me bcoz i prefer it to be short and sweet. Hes a retired management staff from NTUC n hes now a grassroots leader. I would recommend couples to look for him! Hes so nice n humble! :)

Hi all, I also have received call from Mr lim tze beng , he is free and will solemnize my wedding on March 2016 .
So happy to hear from him.

I whacked all 20 top popular JPs at one go. Because I only started planning my June wedding in Feb (same year). So I already expected that I have have a lot of rejections and I didn't have time to wait around for them to reply. Fortunately, I got Mr Francis Ng who replied almost immediately that he is available. And he was super accommodating when we couldn't meet him face to face to sign the consent form since we are both working overseas.

Hi Leen_10, I didn't have a superb experience with Mr Lim though because of AP.. I contacted him after Mr Eric Wong mentioned to me he had to back out because his license wasn't renewed.. Hope you will have a better xperience than me.

Hi dear, if youre planning to have your solemnisation at the ROM office itself, there will be an officer in each room. Dont think youre able to choose your JP. :)

Yup! Just go and register then wait for the names of you + your partner to be shown on the screen. then you'll go into the room where the solemnisation will take place.
My best friend had hers at ROM office and the whole process (minus waiting time) takes prolly around 15mins? :)

My Solemnization will be on December 2016. Can I know when is the right time to email the JPs on their availability? Saw from ROM website that by Sept 2016, can already start to file ROM. Thanks in advance!

The earliest can only book 3 mths in advance...

My AD is Sep 2016 but I am contacting them right now.

anyone got JP Zenon Teh? I read somewhere that he teaches Buddhism, so May I know if he shares any religious teachings during the solemnization?

And did you meet up with him before the event?

Hi all! May I check if anyone knows any JP that do weekdays ROM outside? Planning to ROM in Sep 2016 on a weekday, but can only confirm the venue by June >.< wondering if it will be too late by then to find a suitable JP.

Greatly appreciate any advice, thanks :)

Mine is Simon Sim, lovely humorous old man. He is dedicated to what he do even being a JP. That's my experience from the meet up before our wedding that is round the corner~

I had soft book him for my AD in Sep 16

Hi, i booked zenon teh as my JP. He mentioned that he will meet up with me in sept to discuss and also do the e-filing. :)

Hello all, i emailed Zenon Teh but he totally didn't reply or anything.
Was wondering if he actually ignored my email not, 2 weeks has passed but totally no reply yet.

Meanwhile will check out others as well.
