hi! is siem reap safe? i'm thinking of visiting in may and am a little concern about safety.. anyone been there?

hi deean, i been to siem reap in aug last yr..its pretty safe for tourists..Angkor Wat is a must-see but prepare yourself for the hot weather there...r u gng alone or ?

yes, its pretty safe.. lots of tourist in the town area as well. Just dont wear anything expensive to flaunt that you are rich and i think you would be fine. Angkor Wat is a must go, try the foot massage at the town area too.

I was in Siem Reap just last month and no worries, its safe there. I took a personalised land tour with one of the local travel agencies there. You can make your way to the attractions as well but it might be a hassle getting there though.

My local tour covered both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, 6D5N tour.

Went there on a 2-to-go package. Never felt unsafe throughout my stay there. (The usual precautions should be taken, though).

Friends who didn't know too well advised me against stepping on landmines keke.

Yup it's safe to go but try not to buy things from the kids.

lol. i bought stuffs (books and magnets) from the kids and they turned out to be much cheaper than compared to elsewhere. But of course, u must know how to bargain lah.
