Dear all,

My BS told me not to get those shoes with diamonds in "Claws"..just like wedding rings (the diamond in the claw). Reason being it will tear my evening gown which is of chiffon material. Isit true?

Hi, anyone knows whether close-toe or open-toe shoes are better? My feet don't look nice so I was thinking of close-toe, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea, as it's not as versatile as an open-toe (ie. easier to match different gowns with open-toe shoes). Any suggestions? Thanks

Hey bride-to-bes! if you are having trouble looking for shoes because of big feet (like me..) you can try Pedal Works, they have many outlets here, i personally like the one at tiong bahru plaza becos the uncle is super patient and always willing to let me try and try the shoes... not to mention their prices are pretty affordable, and very comfortable. My friend bought her shoes from there too, 3.5inch and she was walking around whole day.... hers came with 2 rows of crystal studs so it cost ard 60-70 bucks.. otherwise, their shoes are avg less than 50.shoes go up to size 13.

Hi all,

Have any of you been told that you have to wear wedding shoes which cover both the toes and the back of the foot, apparently so that the marriage has a beginning and an end (you3 tou2 you2 wei3)? My mum is insisting that I wear such shoes, but I want open-toed ones!

Hihi, i only read about such things over here...never knew why shoes must be covered. Actually, does it make sense that marriage has start and end??? Why do we want it to end??? Open toes then infinity ma hehe...just a point in a joking manner. Nonsense la all these. I guess covered shoes just looks more formal thats all. Anyway here's link to my open toed shoes...another pt is then do pedicure for what if covered?

Hi Cloudz7,

That's what I don't understand too. I think the covered back of foot makes sense cos that way, you gown won't get caught in your shoes, but I was thinking of getting a pair like sarah ning's last pair (open toe).

If it's not a common superstition, then I'm not doing it (cos I can argue that no one does it). hehe...

Btw, your shoes and bag are pretty!

Juz to chk, how do u gals judge the size of the shoe?

As u all noe, sometimes, eg. size 5 is juz nice but alittle bit tight for the toes, but looks untidy infront. If u take size 6, looks better but behind e heels, can see a small little gap.

Hi girls,
i am on a tight budget, therefore not wanting to spend too much on shoes. I need a pair to go out the KUA and a pair to go with the evening gown. So wondering if anyone here has shoes (other than those white ones posted)to sell? My evening gown is chili red in colour and has a oriental collar cut, anyone has suggestion on what kind of shoes to go with that?

You can try the shops at Far East. They have many shoes with crystals that are suitable for wedding.

Go to a few shops first to check out the different prices and designs.

Hi, would like to have some opinions...

My WG is ivory white with silver bling bling embroidery and EG is yellow (like the yellow colour of post-it-note) with black lace on top...

Can I just buy one pair of silver heels with diamante to match with all including the red kua, or should I buy one more pair for the yellow gown? But what colour/design should I look for?

thanks!

Hi,
just to share with some of you girls..if you have time you can actually check out some of those small stores in shopping malls selling clothes, accessories etc. They sometimes sell shoes as well (of course limited variety) but they sometimes have shiny evening shoes that are really cheap (below $40 even). I bought a really shiny pair of silver shoes (no diamonte but the material is even shinier that some diamonte shoes that i've seen) for $12 at a shoe shop called Surrealism at kallang leisure park. They were clearing stock. I saw some nice beaded shiny shoes in a shop in harbour front selling auntie clothes as well. I didn't buy because i wanted close toe. Sorry i don't remember the name of the shop. My suggestion is, if anyone is on a budjget, can just keep a look out in those small stores if you happen to be shopping

Essex walk shoes starts from $200 onwards but I STRONGLY recommend you not to go there. Go to Taka instead, they carry paradox shoes as well, though range is smaller.

I went to Essex walk and when I wanted to try on some shoes, the auntie told me to wipe my feet on the carpet first before trying as she's afraid that I may dirty her shoes!

And all this time, while she was serving me, she kept rushing to answer the phone and kept telling someone off in a really loud voice.

I mean, if you've a customer in the shop, you should tell the caller to call back. If it was really urgent, you can talk to the caller discreetly instead of screaming down the phone.
And this happened like 5-6 times in the short 15 minutes I was there.

And then when I said that I'll consider it, her face turned black immediately. She didn't even say, "sure, no problem" or smile at all.

REALLY REALLY terrible service. That was one of the worst service experience of my life.
