Hello all,

I'll be a ST bride in September next year! (still a long way to go..)

Elyssa I'll be having my solemnisation at the waterfall too, and also at the same price MJM got.

I would have thought you'll be able to hear above the waterfall with the mikes and speakers...but I did wonder if the whole hotel will be able to hear you then. 8|

Anyone else had/attended a solemnisation there without the waterfalls turned off?

Andie Hazel I'm going to be adding you on Facebook too!

Hi all,

I just want to share my bad experience..
I went and checked out Sheraton Hotel in Aug.. Then, one of their cordinators shared the quotation and addtional charges with me and my husband..

After we have decided to choose Sheraton over other hotels then I contacted to the wedding planner from Sheraton and told that I will come down and pay deposit in Oct.
Then, I make appointment and went down to pay deposit. Then, the wedding planner told us that there is bad new, they cannot do the banqet with their quoted package. we were very shocked.

My point is, if their quotation is no longer avaliable then they should have informed me abt that.. Since Aug till Oct, I have contacted them more than 5 times. They should have informed their customers abt the status. When we went down there to pay deposit then they said, this and that cannot be included with the quoted price.
We have rejected other hotels offer because we were going to choose Sheraton.
Now we start to find the hotel again but some of the hotels are fully booked for our chosen date.

I believe some of u all have good experience with Sheraton. For me, their service is really unacceptable and I will nvr choose Sheraton ever again.

Hi Poppy,

I will be holding my wedding dinner at Sheraton next Sep 11 and like you was considering between Regent and Sheraton. The reason I chose Sheraton was:-
My guests don't have to climb the stairs from the carpark to the ballroom in Sheraton
The ambience is nicer in Sheraton and you can hear music from the lounge playing at the reception from the ballroom
There are no pillars in the ballroom although the ballroom is L shape
I can click better with my wedding coordinator in Sheraton than in Regent

Anyone has experience with Shelley? I've never heard of her, though mentions of J and L are pretty common.
Having trouble BEING a ST bride, as I'm probably too slacked and they're fully booked for 3 dates I've chosen. It's so frustrating! Needless to say, I've done nothing yet (not even attended a wedding show, or picked a date) but it's ideally in Oct next year...Now I'm panicking!

Hi all,
My wedding is over and overall, I had a very very good experience with ST.

Jimmy & team had tendered a very great service for us to make our wedding a great success. No amount of words can express how thankful we are to the team. The team is very professional and I'm really glad that they had helped to ensure everything is going smoothly and ensure everything is pace. No matter what last minute cork-ups we had, they still managed to solve.
For eg, we left out a whole table of 12pax people and they turned up and couldnt find a table. End up, they quickly set up a table fast enough and the other guys also did not notice! They are also flexible for us to squeeze in additional pax to 1 table but of cuz that is chargeable. I have one table sitting 15pax.

My banquet manager is Murugan & I highly recommend him. Murugan is very professional and helpful all the way. He is like a bodyguard throughout and we felt so safe with him around as we really did not know what we should do when the banquet starts. If not for him and his team, we will be in a complete loss.
Tommy, his assistant banquet manager had helped us alot too. My brothers complimented them for being so steady and calm throughout and ensuring us. Thank you so much.
We are really glad we had Murugan & Tommy!! Thanks to Jimmy who actually helped us to get them to help us throughout the wedding.

Jimmy also accomodates to our needs so attentively. my husband always lose the emails & keep asking him to send again but he always replied us promptly. His after-sales service is very thumb-up as well.
He also helps us to secure the bridal suite for us to check in early so that we can hold our ROM indoor. We are really glad that we had him as our co-ordinator.

I've never regretted choosing Sheraton to be part of my big day and the L-Shape ballroom is as perfect as a full ballroom. The long march in was a good choice.

My friends complimented the food is great except for some tables where the vegetables are not that fresh and some of the tables' cod fish is not fresh. But overall, we had the best best best x 100000 experience with Sheraton!

Hope this helps to ensure the brides here :)

I'm considering Sheraton Towers because of the great reviews here. I haven't gone to see the ballroom in person yet though, but with the L-shaped ballroom, wouldn't half the guests (seated on the other side of the L) be unable to see the walk in?

Yyiling: L shape ballroom is as fine. ST provided me with live feed and I use the long march in and is perfect! I had ballroom 1-4 and I started walking from ballroom 4.

fang, that's great! Did they charge you extra for the live feed? Btw, how many tables did you have? I've read that if there's too many tables they'll ask you to switch to a short march in?

Hello all, i had my wedding last month, and i will like to share my experience with all Sheraton brides to be. It was a wonderful and definitely memorable wedding, thanks to the team at Sheraton Towers.

Lynette, who was our wedding co-ordinator has rendered very prompt attention and excellent service from the start to the end. Her meticulousness coupled with dedication in the job has ensured that our event was carried out smoothly. Whenever we were in doubts, she was always there to address our concerns and gave us constructive suggestions.

She has been very patient to us (including my mum), especially to me and she always try her best to meet our requests and even going beyond her duty to answer my call in the middle of the night and listening to my situation, no doubt reaching to our expectation as a wedding co-ordinator.

All my guests were very very happy with the food served, with much compliments given to the food served, thanks to the chef and his team.

Not forgetting, Tommy, the banquet manager on duty who is very pleasant, obliging and has provided us with excellent service. Tommy has provided some important changes which is much appreciated and he is always on his toes to keep everything in order. He never failed to report or update us and he co-ordinated very well with our group. We are very lucky and happy to have him on duty that night.

Because of them, we had such a splendid and wonderful experience. Thumbs up for both Tommy and Lynette!

The ballroom was magically transformed, thanks to the intelligent lightings. And the livefeed definitely came in handy!

So to all Sheraton brides to be out there, rest assured you are in good hands! Relax and enjoy your day!

Hi everyone,
Well, i think i would have to tell you my experience with Sheraton so far. My wedding is coming up, so i must be honest and let you know what my experience has been so far. There is a lot of positive things said about Lynnette, but i will have to disagree. Yes she is a nice friendly person, but since last year when we booked the package till now, there has been countless mistakes on her part. She will tell us something, and then when we go back to her again about it, she will say something else. She cannot keep track of what we ask/ or inform her about the wedding, and i can tell you, we hardly asked her much questions at all during the year! Ours is a simple lunch, no fanfare and all, but she can't seem to remember what's what. To hear so much positives from Michelle , i think it's probably cause she was handling your wedding last month, and so she can't keep up with ours? And when we haven't choose our wedding favours yet, she emailed to confirm our orders! Best part? it was an evening banquet favour, which we are not allowed to choose. Then another time she emailed to say she received our wedding pictures , but we didn't send it to her yet!

Then when we did our food tasting, the guy on duty that day, Dennis seemed quite impatient with us. All i did was just ask him about the menu as we would like to change one or two dishes. Then he gave me a master menu (not what lynnette gave me for my package) and then when i saw it was different, i asked him about it. He was annoyed and say that we should ask Lynnette and not him. Of course if she is there i will ask her, but she wasn't i thought that the banquet manager will be the one to help us, if not what is he there for? Cause next door there was a party going on, so maybe he is busy. I think that Lynnette did not communicate clearly to explain that any changes in the menu should let her know instead of the banquet guy. We are first time getting married ok, of course we wouldn't know that maybe he's not in charge of the menu, but only on other matters.

I suggest that if you want to use a wedding coordinator, please don't go for Lynnette and ask for someone else. She is probably a very nice person, but she can't keep up, and its very worrying, especially when the wedding is 2 weeks away! It's interesting to hear about Murugan. I would like to see if he will be as good as you all say on my wedding day ( i heard he will probably be on duty that day).

I believe every couple encounters good and bad experiences, on individual hotels chosen... sometimes it's really luck also, myself too had some bad experiences, screw-up by the hotel coordinator, I was very upset too. I thought I could never forgive, but after some time I learnt to let go, life moves forward for more better things ahead! Cool down ya..

Hi,

I just confirmed my wedding dinner at Sheraton Towers on Tuesday, and im new here on this forum. The reason why i confirmed with Sheraton Towers is because i loved the feel of the ballroom, mainly also my parents loved the food served by Li Bai, and i felt that i can click better with the wedding consultant. We actually asked for Lynnette to be in charge of our wedding coordination. She was recommended by one of our friend who had his wedding there last year. My first impression of her - friendly, accomodating, and very patient. We actually visited ST for about 3 times before we decided to confirm. Initially it was very hard getting an appointment with her, and after which we learnt that she was very busy with a wedding show that she was in charge of and probably many others were also asking for her to be their wedding coordinator. She was willing to extend her working hours to meet us as we could only meet her after work and to bear with our many questions for not once, but 3 times. Furthermore, she was very flexible with some of our requests.

Looking at the above comments, i personally feel that there may be some prejudice in Jayne's comments. Jayne - your wedding hasn't even taken place and yet you are already faulting her what seems to be human errors. We are all humans, and there are always bound to be mistakes. But at this point, it does not seems like that there is any major damage done. Furthermore, she is handling so many couples, it is not surprising if she mistaken you as another Jayne or that she cannot keep track of what you may have said to her 6 months ago. Just to let you know, in our 2nd meeting with her, her phone rang endlessly, which we picked up, of those, all the calls were couples asking about something. Your negative comments seems very unfair to her.

Well, all said, there seems to be more positive then negative comments about her on this forum. I trust that she will deliver a good job in handling our wedding. My wedding is 6 months from now, and i am looking forward to be a ST bride. We loved the new Tiffany romance theme which was launched during the wedding show. It was a pity we were not able to attend, however Lynnette has sent us some photos of the new theme, which me and husband to be totally adore! Can't wait for all to happen!

Well said liz! Jayne, perhaps u can be more understanding after reading her comments. I've co-ordinated with Lynette and Dennis before a year ago for my friend's wedding dinner, their professionalism and friendliness is very much commendable. Let's be fair, nobody is perfect.

i'm new here and i am really keen on sheraton towers now that i have read so many good reviews!

there's a new tiffany romance theme?? sounds fantastic! i've been dreaming of a white/blue theme while HTB wants lilac... maybe we can meet halfway now with tiffany!

he is gonna try to get an appt with them (and i have asked him to ask for lynette!) this coming sat. last week when we called, the topaz room was still available - yes, we're gonna have a small, cosy and intimate wedding! with not more than 10 tables, i hope! =)

any brides here using topaz room too? any comments or things i should look out for?

thanks in advance! =))))

Hi sps, i've booked my wedding and will be using topaz room with a maxi of 12 tables. Do you know how the topaz room looks like? I'm afraid it will look just like a normal meeting/function room. Do you have any photos to share? Yes, I've seen the new tiffany romance photos... it looks really nice! So excited. I am sourcing for bridesmaids dress with the same 'blue'. It's kindof hard though.

Lynnette is our wedding coordinator and she is FAB! My partner and I resides overseas and email is the only easiest communication tool. She response very promptly. I would love to meet and thank her in real person! She and the good food review are the main reason why I've picked Sheraton!

Hi Sps, I havent seen it yet - only online photos which worries me but, anyway, i've booked the venue and placed my deposit. Will visit Spore in June.. shall see how it goes. Food matters the most. Anyway, i guess decoration will make a difference. Yes, i am told that there will be a stage. It will be nice if you can send me some photos after 19 feb! Thanks!

hi ladies, i had my wedding dinner in the topaz room in 2009. only 6 tables. it kinda does look like a "normal" meeting room. standard rectangle shape. but you can have a stage and march-in aisle. it was offered to us but we declined. hope that helps!

Hi Everyone!

Yes it's me again, and i'm back to post something on this forum. I just came back from my honeymoon. As we left immediately after the wedding, i didn't have time to post how i felt after the actual wedding day. I read some of the comments that have been placed after i left my entry, and i think it's unfair of Liznic to say that my comments are prejudiced. I did make it clear that whatever i've posted was my experience with them so far BEFORE the wedding started (which was a few days later). Please put yourself in my shoes as to how we felt when 1 week to the wedding there was still so much uncertainty.

However, i did want to come back on this forum to post how i felt AFTER the wedding. On the actual day , Murugan was in charge of the reception. Even for the rehearsal the day before, he was very kind and offered doing a sound test for the outdoor waterfall, and in the ballroom. (initially we were told we can only do ballroom sound test) . He gave a lot of helpful suggestions, and overall was very professional. The service staff was very professional, and friendly. On the actual day, things flowed so smoothly and on time, that we were done with our lunch reception way before the expected time of 4pm.

Yes, people are not perfect, and my pre-wedding experience might have faced some bumps, but finally at the end, things really went so well. The flowers were wonderful (that i must give credit to Lynnette) because all i gave her were colours i would i would like, and the outcome was great! She gave some helpful information with decor, and what to expect on the actual day. The food everyone LOVED! The manager in charge of our wedding that day was kind enough to remember my husband's birthday and sent up a cake for him. That was a very, very kind gesture and it meant so much to him.

Overall it was a good experience! It went so well, and if i were to go back in time again, even with foresight of the future, i would do it all over again at Sheraton.

hi jennifer!

as promised, ive uploaded a photo i took yday from the topaz room. there was a dinner function (not wedding) that evening so managed to catch a glimpse of what the set up might look like.

actually it looked pretty alright except the room does not have those grand ballroom lights. and the entrance to the stage is very short.

will you be having your tea ceremony that day? you can request for a separate room (at no charge) and the hotel will provide the tea, tea set, red date longan dessert etc. i thought that was great. save me a lot of trouble.

if you need ang pao box, you can also request from them.

i think i might sign up with them. coz it seems so hassle free with minimal planning required. will be visiting regent this friday tho =)

by the way, the room set up was a lot nicer. it's the quality of my camera phone. haha...

Great that it looks fine. I do know that the march-in is quite short but yeah, never mind its not part of my top priority anyway. The food and service matters most!Sheraton provided us with the tea ceremony room + setup for free. We initially wanted to rent a church venue but kind of given up becos of all the fuss and price! Hence, we've ended up having our ceremony at Sheraton as well which makes it better for our overseas guests! Less travel. We'll be having the ceremony, follow by cocktail and dinner reception.
Have you decided on the wedding theme yet? Lynnette has sent through the tiffany romance theme which looks really nice. I am tempted
happy.gif

Do you mind sharing when is your wedding date? Are you sourcing for any bridal package? I've realised there are heaps of bridal packages in Singapore to choose and it gets really confusing! I am looking for AD bridal package without photography becos i've signed up with image garden. Any recommendation? I'll stopover SIN in early July to pick the bridal pkg, ring shopping, food tasting, invitation cards printing etc.. All in a week! Hopefully, there will be great sale!

Cheers!

hi jennifer!

my other half likes midsummer night's theme. we havent decided yet but might go with that =) we havent decided on the date yet too. haha... actually was looking at sept 17 this year but decided to postpone it to oct 29 if topaz room is still available for lunch.

i have decided not to go with any bridal packages to give myself some flexibility. i am not sure but i think most bridal studios dont rent out merely the gowns because their profit margin comes from photography (and selling their photos at ridiculously high price).

i am more or less decided on emanuel b couture. she dressed my sis and some other friends and i find her really friendly and sincere. =) dang is another one i like but i find the designer and her assistant a little aloft. =) it's slightly imitidating. there is one other i saw... amanda lee. i dont like colours on my gown but if you do, that's kinda amanda lee's trademark =) their evening gowns are very lovely!

i am also hoping to catch the sale for the rest of the stuff like man's suit, ring etc. hee. oh yes... where are based? i always thought gowns are more affordable overseas... like in the states and of course, china. =)

it's back to work now. =) chat again!

Hi Sps,

I've contacted Sattine ($2800) and my wedding present($3200). Their AD pkg does not incl photography and am renting off the rack. Is it cheaper not to signup for bridal pkg? R u renting or buying your gown from emanuel b couture? Will that be cheaper? R u planning to tailor made the groom's suit?
I am based in Perth. I've visited 2 bridal shops during the weekend and guess what! Average gown cost about AUD$3000! Off season ones can cost about AUD$1800 onwards.

hi jennifer! wow just to rent their gowns its that expensive? i remembered my friend went with amanda lee and paid $4.5k for a MTM wedding gown and a MTM evening gown. tho its for rent only at least it was MTM. as for dang, i checked it out tog with the same friend last year and i vaguely remembered it to be around the same. i like dang but its way off my budget. i am not going to spend thousands of dollars on a dress i wear only once (and cant keep!). =P

i havent checked emanuel out yet. i'm meeting the designer this sat. =) going to ask her how much just to rent a OTR wedding gown for photoshoot and actual day. my sis paid $3k-ish i think for one otr gown and a mtm evening gown but that was way back in 2007. and my friend bought a gorgeous but used/old gown from her for $400 in 2008. so if she has a sale again, i might just get a used/old gown. OTR gowns are not new and are used gowns anyway. =)

other boutiques i think are quite popular are zee wedding, le grand, cangai... but i heard they are rather "hard-sell". if emanuel doesnt work out for me, my next options will be zee wedding or le grand coz they tie up with a pretty famous photographer called chris ling. but that will be measure of last resort. =P

btw... when is your wedding? i think i might have missed it if you had mentioned it earlier already!

oh... talking about wedding gowns... i did something crazy last year. together with my friend who's getting married this nov, i actually bought a wedding gown MTM off the internet from a china supplier. my friend's gown turned out really nice while mine was a little off. =P i dont think i want to take a second chance. so yea... hopefully emanuel can be my first and last shop. i really hate the hassle!

btw... i am not sure if my other half wants to tailor make his suit? i did suggest checking out brands like hugo boss etc if he would like coz it seems so much more convenient. "you see you like you buy". hahaha...but he hasnt mentioned anything yet.

i'm so sorry for being so long-winded! hope i didnt bore you with my incessant ramblings. =)

hi jennifer!

i woke up this morning and remembered you can also try Allure Charix at amoy street. i remembered my friend bought her gown (brand new) for $688 but it comes in SML sizes. you can have it altered but at extra cost.

i might check them out too =) have a great day!

hi sps! Thank you for all the great recommendation.I will calculate the cost etc. Apparently, a mtm suit cost about $450. If I'm able to get the mtm suit, wedding and evening gown, make up, hair do, flowers for $2500, it will be much cheaper not to sign up for the bridal pkg. At least, I'm able to keep the suit and sell the gown on ebay to recover some cash! However, I will need to check out the price for make up, hair do and flowers.

My wedding is set on the 17th dec. I am also tempted to buy it off the internet and many of my friends do here in Perth becos its just too expensive to buy it from the retailers.
Argh.. back to work ;p
