Dear All GTB and BTB,
I've just completed my photoshoot recently. Just wanted to share some general opinions and experience from my Bridal shoot.
1) Don't rush into choosing a package.
The quality of the wedding album will determine whether you will take it out from time to time to relive yoru memories or something you just take as a need and just chuck it in your wardrobe and forget about it. There are many different types of similar packages in the market now(how much do you want them to differ), so my advice here is to
1) Discuss among yourself what is your criteria? Is it budget, quality, overall package, gown selections; etc. then base on that look at a few (at least 3 and compare before deciding). Don't be fooled by sales strategies like "oh, we only have this promo today" this is the worst strategy to fall for.
3) Read more about bridal studios before signing
Try to read up on various feedbacks on different bridal studios. It is true that in the age of internet, you can get all sorts of comments. Some studios say that "due to untruth comment, we request for moderator to remove the thread" OR "we do not want to publise in forums so we ask moderator to remove the thread". My comment on this is becareful. Think in this way, if you are open to comments and service is good, what are you afraid of? Everyone must understand that not all shops will be able to satisfy all customers. So read the forum with a pinch of salt and evaluate for yourself.
2) Always negotiate your package upfront
Always remember to negotiate your packages upfront. Don't believe that you can negotiate after you sign because 99% of the time, you will be at their mercy. My own experience was that I wanted to negotiate to get back all photos but the sales person told me "our studio don't do that as it will affect the quality, cos if you pay to take everything, then photographer will any how shoot as they don't earn from extra prints" This is BS. because when i was selecting my photos, another sales person came to us to say "if you select XX number of photos, we let you take everything back"
4) BTB choose your MUA carefully
Brides to be please choose your MUA carefully. I saw before the difference between a good MUA and Bad MUA. So take your trial makeup seriously because it will make a difference on the most important day in your life
5) Always read fine prints
There are never free lunches in this world. So please read all fine prints for all package agreements. Anything they say will be covered, get them to write down black and white. This is to safe guard you and them from future agruments. This will be exceptionally useful for people signing on overseas package. Don't let it turn into your worse nightmare
6) DIY Customised package vs bridal package
Although there are a lot of bridal packages out there, but nowadays, it is getting easier to customised your own package. Cost might be higher and you might need to do more homework, but depending on your needs and requirement, ultimately, it might be the best for you.
Well.. hope that these information are helpful to all. Just FYI, I wrote this not because I was unhappy with my wedding package (Even though its not perfect), but I would like to share this experience with everyone else so that you can make your most important day happier.
Hope that my post don't get deleted or request to be deleted by any business owners.
