Serta Mattress- Anybody?

havent got chance to go to hommange furniture. I think queen alabama + 2 pillows + mattress cover + bedframe + bench + spray + sheep= 2.8K++. IS this a good deal or hommage can do better? But the serta bedframe looks very big not sure if it will fit well into our small MBR. Anyone tried before?

Hi All!

Would like to recommend the Serta salesperson, Kelvin at Taka. He was really patient, helpful and gave us many free freebies, so we ended up buying 2 mattresses from him - for our new home & my parents' place. I would say the quality of Simmons, Sealy & Serta are comparable after trying at the showrooms, it really depends on the model you get. For eg, a mid-range mattress from Simmons definitely cannot be compared to a top-end one from Sealy and vice versa.
We decided on Serta due to the warm service we received and we thought that it was value for money. Package includes mattress + bedframe (alot nicer than those from some other well-known brands) + bedsheets + 2 pillows + mattress protector + 2 sheep. Thumbs up for the after-sales service too, he even offered helped us find contacts for the removal of our present bed when I called to fix the delivery date.

bini,

mi went to IMM showroom also, tat uncle reali sucks! i feel tat i shld be given better service especially in a premier showroom. Anyway i have already bought my mattress from Ackerman.
I have been to hommage also but still feel tat salesperson at ackerman are more professional. furthermore their aftersales service has been proven by others in this forum

Hi! I'm thinking of getting Sisilia too. Saw it at a showroom at Sungei Kadut area, costing $1.8K...Do you gals know if I can get it cheaper elsewhere?

bini,
where did you get that offer? Sounds really cheap!

hi hermit.

Different places probably sell the mattress under different names. JUst remember the construction of the mattress & compare. (what type of spring/latex top?/pillow top? etc). I haven heard of sisilia so far. Perhaps you can try, hommage/ackerman/metrol. (So far these places have a good deal). Depends on how you bargain.

Sisilia is a product range under Serta, akin to Alabama..Bf just found it comfortable. Alabama seems too thick...
Where did you get your quote of 2.8k?

I tell u bini(soapwater16)all might look the same but have different specs.as what i know from serta michigan have higher specs than those u mention above .

hi hermit..

Clara is right. The mattresses models are very confusing indeed!. The different showrooms sell differnt model names & probably some differences in specs of the mattress. Alabama is one of top range serta mattress. If you want alabama, can go to hommage. If you want michigan (but it's very thick, so your bf might not like), can go to ackerman. Or if you want Napoli (which is similar to michigan), can go to metro.

* just a few personal opinions. the serta showrooms at IMM & Marina dont have such good service compared to hommage/ackerman/metrol.. (perhaps some pp might disagree, i dunno)

alabama is a miracoil (continuous coil) with a plush pillow top. (soft). about 12" (not too sure). It's quite similar to the Nightstar i see at IMM (though Taka sells a different model also named night star). arizona is thicker. (pocketed spring) Michigan is a precompressed pocketed spring, with latex top & an extra cotton-like pillow top. Missouri & Napoli also have this similar spec. (perhaps individual pockted spring).

The best way is to remember the specs & the price range while going around the various showroom. MOST important is the 'feel' when you try.

Hommage = serangoon central
Ackerman = toa payoh central

Have fun shopping!

hi, me juz gotten the serta 'spine care' latex mattress fm their sleep center at marina square... was having a sales there... for $3899, i've gotten the mattress, bedframe+headboard, mattress pad, 2 pillows, a sheep and a bench. i supposed it's quite a good deal as it would have cost me $4k+++ if i've gotten it during the promotion (20% off) at taka last mth and there was no free bench.

So bini(soapwater16).which mattress u n ur husband actually prefer?dont survey too much u might be confused like last time i did and if a sales person solve ur confusion u might end up getting from them ,n probably it might nt be the best among the one u eyed on.Go for the one with the best spec.realistically decision will eventually be on the price.go get the one with reasonable price n eventually of a better spec.that will solve all problem.nt neccessary get 4000++ de la got nonflip good coil technology will do good spec also la

Hi gals,

Can I know for those who took the suede material bedframe, how do you maintain it?

Am deciding which to take... dilemma... =(

According to the sales, just vacuum over. The micro suede looks more posh But more difficult to maintain. Usually i dont really maintain my bedframes anyway.

i am looking for a mattress too..just tried the michigan. how different is pre-compressed pocketed spring from the normal pocketed type? is it supposed to be less firm? hmm...michigan is pretty ex.. think it's about $3k. has anyone bought one?

hi orangejuice,

Clara bought michigan (a few messages before). Standard price is 2899. This is the first one we tried & it's really good & comfy (with bedframe + bench). After much hunting, we found, Similar to Michigan are, missouri (from serta IMM) and napoli (serta metro). Of course, there are some differences. But my FH & I cant really distinguish between them. Maybe our body is not sensitive enough. So we decide based on price & got Napoli. (because it's the lowest price).

*it's really best for you to personally try out the differences yourself. : >

hi momo,

So i got the microsuede. (colour undecided yet). Keeping my fingers crossed for not dirtying them.

hi criz

Queen size. (2899 is the stated selling price) From what i know so far, michigan seems only available @ ackerman. if you really want, perhaps you can try to bargain abit about the price or see if they can give more freebies. (at least try ma) : > good luck!. also, if you can, try out missouri & napoli if you have time before you commit, at least can share with us, what's the differences between them all.

ya.. just an extra bit.

eventually if you should decide on missouri, (if you have the time to try..) Might be a better idea to ask hommage @ serangoon central if they have. It's a small shop so not much on display. But in my opinion, the service is much better than serta @ IMM.

thanks a lot, bini.

how much did u get napoli for?
i just saw an ad today...michigan is going for $2639 at ackerman...but it didn't say what size.

hi,

call ackerman &ask them lo. :> They're quite helpful.

@ Metrol
For bedframe (microsuede) + bench + 2 pillows + 1 mattress protector + 2 sheep + napoli = <2500
If you want to know the exact price, maybe can email me soapwater16 @ gmail . com?

Hi, bini.

Thanks for the info. Actually, been to ackerman yesternite and they quoted me King size michigan (mattress only) @$2899, top $300 for bedframe. But when I visit their the other office at Kaki Bukit then aware that they quoted the wrong size to me, king is $3k++. that out of my budget, aiming around $2K+.

btw, what the size for napoli that you brought? can email me the price to [email protected]
and where is Metrol?

Thanks
criz

Hi!
Went down to the Bedding Saloon @ Sg Kadut today.
The salesperson told me that the price for Serta is going up again. The Sisilia model I bought will go up by another 700 bucks. Not sure if this is 100% reliable.
Just to share...

Aiya I surveyed so many shops all said this kind of words to close sales lehz really annoying. We consumer have to be smarter at time right?Anyway I go to The Sleep Centre @ Eunos Technolink kaki bukit rd 1 nt sure is Blk 7 or 9 this evening to check up the serta range.there got lot of brand Simmon, tempur ,Serta nt very sure other brands la.my sis bought serta from them said price reasonable but one thing is they dont do pressure sales n was quite amazed with their approach.we were served by a young lady. She taught us how to choose a mattress funny.learn a good lesson though maybe never buy from them i know how to choose mattress that suit my hubby n I.but most probably buy from them though the prices nt the lowest in town but I like the sincerity n honesty.she tell me serta asemble in indonesia for most range lehz some sales person will say no la US brand of coz come from US la bullshit.but i was in a rush never try simmons..going dwn this weekend trying other brands..

well let me give u all some advices i have done research for the 3 Ss(simmons ,sealy, serta).

For simmons they r renowned for the support for their original pocketed coil technolgy .Simmons is the first that bring in individual pocketed coil decades ago it is the orginal only orginal pocketed coil are pre-compressed. I know u all dont understand. For example when we pre-compresses a coil from a 7 inches(Simmons have the highest coil height in the market) to a stardard height simmons set, the coil actually will be insisting on getting up so we slp on the mattress we can feel the support.Imported from USA,Japn,Korea,Canada,OEM malaysia,OEM China n OEM Thailand

Sealy entered Singapore market not very long Sealy are renowned for their Posturepedic coil we call it open coil all the coils are fully connected with wire.Posturepedic coil have sensory arm n triple off set it is said to be able to adjust to the correct alignment for our body.Sealy mattresses are mostly very comfortable.Sealy is the world's best selling mattress. Total Sales figures (world no. 1) Sealy + its two other sub companies.Sealy also have very wide price range(cheap to very expensive)as compared to Serta n Simmons. Most range Asemble in Thailand.Only some Unicase(expensive) from USA

Serta is the youngest in Singapore mattress industry compare with the other 2.Serta is renowned for its mira coil technology is also name open coil fully connected with wire among the coil, n their comfort level for mattress. If serta says it is no.2 no one dare to compete with it for comfort level. But Serta these recent years did come out with their pocketed coil series for their mattresses.Serta did also won the title (We make the world's best mattress). Most range asembled in indonesia. practise OEM(original equipment manuafacturing). Some from USA.

Well If u wanted support higher can go for Simmons,if u wanted Comfort level higher go for Sealy or Serta open coil(motion transfer high) are used to make soft n comfortable mattresses. If you want support n no motion transfer between u n ur partner can go for Individual pocketed coil.If u only more concern about enjoying of comfort level 3 minutes before u slp u can go for open-coil Sealy or Serta.Only Simmons USA range can be compatible to Sealy n Serta for the comfort level. If u r more concern about the 8 hrs of sleep u will need good support u can go for Simmons.Choose a mattress according to what your needs.Hope it will help u to choose a mattress wisely

I suggest you call up Hommage or Ackerman to check... their price is negotiatable.

I bought the Elegance from Sleep Center at Marina Square. Tried a few Serta there and still chose the Elegance, partly due to budget too ..

Of cos, it is subject to personal preference.

Oh ya, look for Joel if u go there .. he is nice and can negotiate .. ;)
Send him regards from Richard.
