Dear all, I just had my ROM high tea buffet at Zhou Kitchen Far East Sq on last Sat, 8 Aug 09
happy.gif

It was a wonderful experience and we had the private room to ourseleves (20 guests). It was a simple and cosy set up with red rose pedals over the solemnisation table and white chair covers for all chairs. The room is also carpeted and the entire ambience was right on note.

The manager, Ms Joanne Hew is also very accomodating and gave us a seperate room for dressing and makeup before the ceremony.

Their service is excellent and staff are very courteous.

Do go down personally to take a look at the venue and compare which one suits your liking best =) For my hubby and I, we simply like the serene and peaceful environment of Far East Sqaure outlet and the setting is already pretty ^^

Also, the price was well within our budget and we were very delighted with the overall experience

happypinkbuttons, congrats! Would you mind sharing the details of this package with me? I have about 20 guests too and would like to know how much you paid for this arrangement. Thanks.

Hi all, finally my ROM is over. haha! glad everything was quite okie except
that my hubby n i actually forgot to collect our hand boquet when leaving
the BS aft i had my make up done up.
we only realised it when we're on the way to Zhou kitchen @ anchorpoint.
U-turned back, and we're almost late for the ceremony,
n guests are all waiting around. pai sei~~~~

they decorated the place as the pictures i've posted previously. totally the same.

They provide:
- fresh flower ( coz i booked it in Feb )
those booked after dunno when, are going to use artificial flowers

- pen n pen stand. quite nice actually but since i've bot mine, i used mine.

- microphone + system. but we didnt use coz we didnt want to speaak out in the mics. haha!
hubby hates mics.

- they do play music, so if you want, can bring your own disc.
to avoid disappointments, you can bring down a few days b4 and test it.
irene will definitely help you in this. =)
they do have their own music.. so we didnt bother to spend time to do up music as the session out there takes less than 20mins.

i had my hi-tea buffet. $16.80++
additional $30++ for each table for free-flow
of soft drinks, liang cha and chinese tea.

i had 31 guests ( including hubby n me ), we paid total of ard $800, inclusive of the garden booking. we paid $80 for the garden.

The food was fantastic and the prices are really
reasonable. =)

hi gemz

just saw their high tea menu, is quite normal food. can help to recommend few best dishes you have try?

thanks ya.

hmm.. i had their buffet for quite a few times.
its quite good. my guests like it too.

i like "Pork Slices boiled with Tasty Garlic Sauce" the most!
the "Pan-fried Carrot Cake" is v yummy too!

i guess, its up to each individual taste bah.
i may like that, but u may not.
best is that, try the dishes b4 you book anything.
if u like the food, den go on with it. =)
better to spend a little...
take it as "food-tasting".

^_^

their Hi-tea buffet is good! even my guest went back tasting again after they had try during my ROM. I agree with gemz (^5 gemz), I did the food tasting before we decided to go ahead with Zhou's Kitchen. Mi and my hubby also planning to go back this weekend =x

I love their Steamed BBQ Pork Bun/Baked Flaky BBQ Pork Pastry/Drunken Chicken/Egg Plant with Minced Fried Garlic and Pork Floss... OMG!! I'm hungry >"<

you can see it at
http://www.zhouskitchen.com/pdf/buffet-hitea-weekday-menu.pdf

=)

if planning for ROM/Events at the Anchorpoint outlet,
you can also ask Irene to throw in the
Free Flow of drinks if you want.
$30 per table. better to have 10-11-12 pax per tables.
soft drinks, chinese tea and liang teh.
I wouldn't want my guest to restrict to ice water only.
Buffet wise, usually pple will tend to drink more water.

just a lil advice =)

congrats to you gemz!!

We're having our rom on 20 Sep 2009 @Zhou's Kitchen Anchorpoint. Was wondering shld we get our own pens or not. now that you say that they provide pens, we can save another $60 bucks.

Am glad to hear that their service is good. We're having ROM dinner thus hoping that our guests will enjoy their dinner.

Hai, am having mixed feelings coz having to juggle bet work, studies & ROM preparation. Quite tiring =(

When i had my ROM at zhou kitchen,
Irene saw my feather pen and commented that its really nice.
So i asked if she wants to buy it over and
give me discount for my Hi-Tea. Ha.
Irene is very friendly and helpful.
Glad i chose the right place to hold my ROM.

Michantz,
i had the same feeling as you weeks before my ROM.
have to handle work, ROm preparation and my ROM
falls on my EXAM week!
My heart totally on my books and im more concerned
abt my exam papers than my ROM. so whenever people ask me
how am i feeling as my ROM is nearing.
I said im more nervous for my EXams instead. =(

but at least, its all over now. We should pull through
EVERYTHING!

Just enjoy the process and be a HAPPY bride.
=)

JIA YOU~!

I'm having my ROM and lunch buffet at Zhou's Kitchen@ Far East. I must really recommend their restaurant to everyone! I requested for the private room for the ceremony and went down to look at the space, Tang Min served me and was very helpful, showing me how the table could be arranged, the timing to take note of and small details.

She recommended us to select a few dishes to serve the guests first before they start ordering so that they wouldnt have to wait too long. We requested to play our own music and they are very willing to accommodate as long as they can fulfil it.

Really highly-recommended! Nice private room and food! Looking forward to my ROM in Dec!
happy.gif

hmm.. i had ard 35 people at the space for my ROM.
Most people stand. coz the process is quite fast.
Less than 15mins. most pple will stand and take pics..
well, u can request to take away the chairs to make the place
more spacious. perhaps the row of brown seats.
so that your family/friends can have more space taking pics of the whole process.

i should try out their buffet since so many ppl say is nice hee

if i have my rom session there, any min num of tables to take? the venue can hold about how many tables? any private room at Achorpoint? thanks!

Yes, should try it =)
I think for anchorpoint there is a min table to take, maybe you can reconfirm with Irene again. I have 4 tables for my Rom. For Anchorpoint, there isn’t any private room.
There are total of 2 floors, 1st floor very limited space but they have those lou di zhuang window. 2nd floor more spacious, they do have a corner which seem to be more private just behind the service counter (4 big round table)

Hmm.. anchorpoint one dun have min. tables.

Just have to let Irene know how many people
will be attending, then she can make arrangement
for you. Also let her know how many pax per table
coz some will have 8, some maybe 10.

The table can take up till 12 pax.
I have 9,11,11 previously.
Arrangement of the tables, can discuss with Irene.
Not in a private room. but is at the corner.
so wont have people walk pass all that.

Go down and take a look better. =)

sounds good.

is not a sit down lunch or dinner right since we are paying for the buffet high tea etc. the guests can be walking around to mix around?

hmm.. its ala carte buffet..
so, we do need to sit down n eat..
well, guests can walk around of coz..
but people will tend to sit down and talk
while eating at the same time. =)

MemorableChocolate>> No worries =) Anyway, how's ya preparation?? I'm starting to get lost on "still need to prepare wat stuff?" i guess it's the same for all brides-to-be.

Gemz>> I know how u feel and am being asked that question too. haha. now i'm more stress, Work, assignments, ROM, exams and HDB stuff.

We just got queue no. to select our love nest. Both good news and bad news to us. Good news: finally we get to select love nest, Bad news: more $$$ going out.

Hi everyone, I just had my ROM, overall the service at Zhou's Kitchen is really good, esp Irene, she is really helpful. She even offer her Solemnisation pen for us, although we didn't use it but its a really good decoration piece for the table. The weather was really hot(but was happy that it didn't rain as lately was having heavy rainfall), there is a row down shelter above, so is better then nothing. They offer ice water at the back for my guests too.

I didn't bring any music along, so i used Irene CD, i ask for Joline song for walk in, but it was played throughout, same song throughout, was kind of boring. But i was too busy to notice Irene about it. Anyway, my solemniser was late, so in the end there was no walk in.

After ROM, went upstair for Lunch, we were waiting for food to be served but waited for like 10mins, no food still... actually u need to tell them that you wanted the food to serve then they will notice the kitchen n prepare the food. Haha. Feedback for the food was really good, my personal fav is the Washabi Prawn. I included $30 free flow of drinks per table few days ago but the waiter was not aware, so i have to tell them.

My FIL was unwell that day, they don't serve any Ginger Tea but one of the waiter notice the kitchen to prepare some Ginger in hot water for him instead, really glad to have such thoughful gestures from Zhou's Kitchen.

Tips: have a helper around, to help you confirm your menu on that day or any other special order, give ang bao to solemniser and send him off (as he is likely to leave once the solemnisation is over), he/she will ask to soften the music if required. Your helper should be the one walking around instead of you. I didn't take notice this point, so you see a bride walking to her bag to take ang bao, walking to the waiter to tell her to serve food, walking to pay the bills, while my hubby was busy taking care of his dad. Really not very glamorous huh! Haha.

Overall, the service by Zhou's Kitchen is really great. The ginger drink was a very thoughtful gesture, Irene is a really great manager that offer all time help if required.

ctrus, there are 2 tables already set up in the room, can hold max 12 per table, they will have a separate rectangular table for the solemnization ceremony. When are you planning to have it?

Mine's in Dec..

mujiadventure >> May I have the contact for Far East Sq? I'm considering between Anchorpoint and Far East Sq. My ROM will be on 23 Jan 2010.

As the venue will be reflected on our marriage cert, jz curious wat did U all input during e-filing of marriage notice?

I called Zhou's Kitchen @ Far East Square to enquire abt their private room for ROM solemnization. She told me tt there will not be any decoration, only can fit 3 tables (max). Is it true?
