The Cliff at Beaufort is very romantic. Fantastic ambience, service and food. They serve mainly fish and seafood here, and also have a good selection of oysters (done in many different ways). But all these come at a price, with main courses ranging from $30-$50 and starters at about $20 region.

Equinox (formerly known as Compass Rose). I love their steak that's served with foie gras. Approx $50 for a main. ..the view's priceless of course. Alternatively, try L'Aigle d'Or @83 Duxton Road. Excellent French restaurant. but bewarned, the menu doesn't come with prices... we spent $400 for 2.

If you want somewhere cheaper - try Pasta Fresca at East Coast beach. You can choose to sit at the table right by the beach. Very romantic at night especially if it's breezy

Hi Boy,

I second Beetlebug. Pastra Fresca at East Coast Park is pretty romantic. Alternatives are Brauhaus, Margarita's (Mexican: 108 Faber Dr), Michelangelo's (Holland V).... Chk out http://food.asia1.com.sg/restguide/ for more ideas. Good luck!!

Tip: call up in advance, make a reservation and tell them that it's for a special occasion... if they're customer friendly, they may do something extra nice like fresh flowers on the table, long candle or even a dessert on the house.

Hi Boy,
I think Blu Restaurant is fantastic, with a candlelight dinner, live jazz band and quite a nice view. On the top floor of Shangrila Hotel. A little pricey but it will be money well spent. Your date will love it.

Another place will be the outdoor dining near the Rasa Sentosa beach. Not sure if they are still around. Haven't visit the place in 3 years but they had barbeque seafood there where they bbq and serve you right away. It's a very romantic setting. Dim and near the beach with lotsa sea breeze.

Good luck !!!

Halia in Botanical Garden is a nice place with good food.

If it rains, you still can go indoor.
These days the weather is unpredictable.

Bon Appetite.

Hi there, if you chose a cosy corner facing the marina, My Humble House at the Esplanade can be a v romantic and private restaurant.

Does anyone know what kind of food does Halia and Blu serve?

I tried a "Champagne and Chocolate appreciation" and its one of the most wonderful experience I had. It is a wine and chocolate tasting session and this combination is amazingly wonderful! The after taste of a well-matched chocolate and bubbly is refreshingly pleasant!

This is an event you can enjoy quality wine/food and time with your hubby. Location is a wine cellar near Raffles Place MRT. It's pretty interesting and romantic, you can check it out at wow-her.com/events.htm

Scroll all the way down n you will see an event for couples. Your huubby will love you for this!

Hi,

You can try "secret garden". It is a very romantic place to have candle light dinner. My bf brought me there during our first anniversary. The resturant owner is very friendly and he even coordinated with my bf to give me a surprise. The food is very nice too but quite expensive. The best thing there is that they have a group of 3 musicians who will sing to you table by table. And that time they sang a really sweet song. Great place for wedding proposal or anniversary celebration

hi

i will recommend Villa Bali. The architecture is beautifully made out in bali-like décor and ambiance. They also offer a romantic dinner package. This package includes the private Lesehan and authentic Bali cuisine along with premium wine. All this is served by charming Balinese servers who are very pleasing to talk to

Rochester Park is lovely - a few restaurants there eg. Graze, One Rochester, Da Paolo. Graze is my favourite.

Also, along Chip Bee Gardens in Holland Village is really nice at night - Da Paolo and Michalangelo both serve good Italian food and Original Sin is a great vegetarian restaurant. Outdoor table preferable I think (weather permitting).

Flutes is also excellent. As is Broth on Duxton Hill, Oso on Tanjong Pagar and Senso on Club Street. Would recommend Singapore's Best Restaurants 2008 book which you can get in Borders or other bookstores. It's really handy.
