I've visited golden scissor and do like one of their ready made gowns but it is a bit too tight at my hips. The lady boss is agreeable to help me alter it for free but I don't know if it will still look the same. Hence I am still mulling over if I should get it. Do you know if her alternation for those ready made cheongsam is good and reliable?

Yup , I do agree with you. The effect after alteration might not be what you expected. That's why I didn't get it for my bridesmaids. Why don't you ask the lady boss how much will she charge to custom made the same design that fit to your figure. .
I went to custom made a golden color QiPao at this Iris and Edel as my evening gown . Let me know if you want more details.
