live - the food tasting session will be set up like a mini buffet line with skirting and all. The dishes are served in silver cylinders just like the photo I posted above. Only thing is Rasel will place 2 dishes in one container.

FYI - my menu is also a stand up reception. We have an option to top up $10 per headcount to make it into a sit down buffet

hi Jol,

does that mean that when you top up $10 you have more food selections? Becos for the stand-up church wedding buffets i.e. the $12, $15, $18, $20 menus that I have now, there is no mention of scallops in chilli crab sauce, kue pie tee, fried prawn balls with salty egg? It seems our food menus have many differences.

What is the butter rice like..how was it done..was it in hot demand? We have tried the pineapple rice and it is ok. Our food tasting went alright. Some of my 'tasters' however think the food samples were so-so only. Really hope that the actual day will be great..

Any suggestions for a great fish dish for the menu? Want to change the spicy fish with basil leaves for something else. What would you recommend?

Live,

I think Jol menu was from premium list. I had that menu and the prices starts from minimum $35 for standing reception and if you need table and chair have to top up another $10 per person.

Jol correct me if I'm wrong...

sotongball - no lah, my menu is not from the premium list. There are 2 sets of wedding menu. One set cater more for church and home reception. The other set has 3 diff menu which offers more variety. This is more or less to replace a banquet which most couple usually had it in restaurant/hotel. I took the cheapest menu consists of appetizers (salad), main courses, desserts and drinks.

live- As mine is meant to be a sit down reception, I top up $10 only for the tables and chairs. I also add on more dishes e.g. chocolate fondue and canapes and was charged accordingly. There is also soup and carving station (beef/lamp) which can be added to the menu.

If you are keen to find out more about the set with the 3 diff menu, can ask Elsie for the menu. Mine was the Amethyst menu. The highest end is the Topaz/Diamond menu

Do they have the 10% service charge on top of the 7% GST? And are they amenable to negotiations or changes to the menu?

Hi,

I have sign up a package with Rasel for my church wedding in December.

We have decided to do away with our Church wedding cos my IL are not a Catholic or Christian.

I have check with my caterer and they are willing to accept any wedding booking with any prices so long as I can find someone to take over.

Have paid a deposit of $1000. Willing to transfer at $500.00

For sincere buyer buyer only.

I don't check this forum often. Please email me directly [email protected]

Hi Ladies,

I'm back.. First of all, I would like to thanks all btb who has assist me throughout my wedding (knowing that I have to much question) especially bubblepuzzle.

I had a wonderful wedding experiene with Rasel. Relatives and friends praising their food and nice decor. At least that helps me alot, knowning that PIL not easy to please.

For those that are looking for a reliable caterer, do give them a call. I'm sure they can meet up to expectation.

Hi just a question, because rasel is a halal-certified caterer so they do not touch alcohol, if i want alcohol at my wedding i will have to hire a wine service at additional cost of $1-2k. Whereas other non-halal certified caterers can include this all within the package at no extra cost. Do you think it is worth to pay that additional thousand or so for Rasel or to take another caterer with similar menu but include all the alcohol as well?

hi krazimitzi
is it possible to get few bottles of wine on your own. maybe u can discuss with the caterer.
i had rasel, am really pleased with them. i also considered gustos too. Gustos is more of a high-end catering. if u have more budget, try gustos. both services are good.

Don't worry about that. For my wedding they got their external supplier to help on the wine n beer. Do check with them on the supplier charges

I love their decor last year, this year not sure did'nt got a chance to go. I believe Rasel prices are reasonable in the catering industries.

Hi Mint,

You mean they let you book on "open Date"? Together with ACM rental? I remember previous year when I went with my friend they don't allow "OD" as they can't control booking ACM and date are subjected to availablity.

Hi Eunice,

Which package are you taking? I just catered from them for last month for wedding lunch buffet. Generally, their food is nice. My guests cleared up all the food except for 1 dish but it's quite subjective, some ppl say nice while others commented that the spice was too strong.

I have try their shepherd's pie, laksa, scallops ham & cheese, indonesian chicken and beef goulash. My family are impress with their food and they even set up a buffet for me with fresh flower, plus point... Even without sampling, this additional service count.

Hi Eunice. Mine doesn't have food tasting coz the girl we spoke with said we went for their workshop earlier this year and sampled there.
Too bad we didn't sign up then and missed out on the 10% discount for those who attended.
