You can always email them to find out the prices, they will email back with an attachment for their prices.

Among many of the 5 star hotels I contacted, they were one of those with the most prompt service, and ever ready to discuss/oblige. You will find out for yourself once you contact them about their wedding package.

Is there a projector cost? I had my wedding there a fortnight ago. I had express video highlights played from a laptop projected onto the white screen. There was no addtional charge for that (I personally vetted my bill at the end, there was no such charge)

hey people i also just had my wedding 2 weeks back.
sound system is good now becoz RH has contracted outside sound company.but every now and then there will be some glitches due to the fact the wiring at RH is old.really nothing to do with the new equipment (speakers and all).my sound guy razali was very good. he took care for us the music at the lawn as well as the ballroom.

projector?i didn't know there is a charge for that.i personally checked on the connection between my mac and the projector.pls take note for those of u using mac ,u need to purchase a vga cable if not can't connect.i bought mine at mac @(borders).

overall, comments from guests were very positive.be it the ambience, food, flowers etc

i personally like what Lionel (Sir Charles) did for us according to our color schemes.

do pls make sure the floorplan give to you and the floorplan displayed on your actual day IS THE SAME. PLs make sure of that.if not you are going to have chaos during seating arrangements.

those using the lawn, the negative feedback will be the great difference in the red tones of the carpets put together for us brides to walk down the aisle.

also make sure the chairs in the lawn for solemnisation is not put out too early in case it rains and your guests will sit on wet seats.

can't think of anything else or tips to share.but do ask me if you have questions.i try to answer as best i could.

i will agree with DOg lover that the wedding at RH was a dream come true.

for some previews.check out our pix on the blog of our photographer www.bernardteo.sg
look for the "15 dec jerry & sheryl post."

as well as a short video clip uploaded by my musician Khairi

Hello peeps! Happy New Year!
I am quite tempted to hold my wedding in Raffles. I dun think i can rush for year end. I am arranging to meet May this week or next. Any notes for me? What are the things we can actually request? Mind sharing?? Oh.. any day room for our helpers??

hey aveline, the day room is not possible.RH is abit inflexible when it comes to negotiation. and also depends on what you are asking so the best person to ask would be your coordinator.

cheers

I met my co-ordinator on a Sunday evening once (by prior arrangement). They are very flexible and understanding that most of us work and can't meet them during office hours.

Nonetheless I do try to meet her during office hours if I can, because I think they also deserve to have some time off on the weekends =)

Anyone attended Raffles wedding dinner lately or had their banquet there? How are the food reviews? Read on some other forums that the quality and taste of food is bad!

im holding my wedding at raffles next feb.

The reason is because raffles is an very exclusive hotel...... for me, im having a small dinner for 25 tables...... this is the only place in singapore that can hold a small number of guest.... yet with a very grand and WOW factor.

For me, the food comes second, what i wan is the FEEL.... the grand.... and of course.... with a very strong history background of the hotel.....

Guest will think of the beauty of the wedding in a hotel like this...... more than food.

of course.... food cannot be that bad. Even if u give the best food..... there'll still be guest that says the food is lousy.......

but in my point of view, i had attend shangri-la, ritz -carlton, and i can say is food in raffles is on-par with ritz, better than shangri-la

Visha: thank you for sharing. I totally agree with u. the history makes it all worth it + the wedding photos. I saw quite a few nice ones on the net. amazing!

Hi all,

went to RH for viewing.... and was dissapointed.... although I like very much to hold my dinner there.

yes, the staircase to the ballroom floor is impressive.... but the small miserable lift is pathetic. It is just one notch better looking than a cargo lift.

And I am particularly disturbed by the fact that wedding guests are 'advised' to entered via Seah Street rather than the main entrance. Wedding guests are also 'advised' not to venture/loiter at the main lobby area or areas which may disturb their staying guests. No photo taking at restricted areas too. In short, stick to the ballroom area only.

I mean come on, we are paying more than those staying-in guests....why double stds?

The reason why I brought up these qns is because of earlier feedback from another couple earlier in this thread.

The ballroom is above average... definitely no wow factor (maybe I had high expectation for this hotel). Both the foyer and ballroom can really need some renovation.

Nevertheless, Tracey seemed like a nice lady to work with. Very polite and pleasant.

Still deciding whether to take up RH.... as I really like the brand name.... sigh.

hi,
ya the lift is not nice.... but think again.... old hotel.....

actualli i greatly understand why they need to enter by seah street.... because that is the only carpark enterance. and if u guest not driving.... they walk in by main lobby.... still need to walk one round to ur ballroom

for photo wise..... think u dun have to worry much.... because once u had sign the package... they will let you know where you can take photo.... in fact.... there only place tat cannot take pic is the lobby where other ppl check in and check out.... lol.... if u wan the contract detail, let me know.... i can send to you.

for a 20-25 table ballroom...... if u think still need renovation...... i suggest u go and visit other places first..... because i visited swissotel the stamford..... raffles convenational hall..... their ballroom for 25 tables is like.......... hmmmmmmmm..... think u go see urself.....

Hi white7... the Lawn I saw was bare with no deco (anyway... it was raining when i viewed)... so can't comment much.... i guess it depends on the floral deco on the day itself.

Hi visha.... yes its an old hotel.... but you can seriously compare the amount of effort of 'touch up' they put on the main wing.

contract one thing... but it will be too late if they start chasing away relatives who un-intentionally drop off at main lobby. The damage will then be done (as what happened to the other couple in this forum). From my understanding, wedding guests are not suppose to walk through the main lobby.

It is not a issue of the distance to ballroom, but rather the issue of integrity. Felt discriminated.

I have actually shortlisted Conrad, Four Seasons and Raffles. Deep in my heart... I wanted Raffles to have my business, because not many people held their weddings at Raffles... so kinda 'exotic'..... but alas.....

Maybe my expectation is too high after visiting Conrd and Four Seasons.

I am happy that you will be doing yours at Raffles. At least we have the same taste.

I don't know.... need to do some pondering about Raffles. Maybe I get lots of floral and some carpets for the foyer.

I have seen pics of the lawn done up for solemnization.... fantastic.

I actually enquired on the Lawn cos I am planning to solemnize and dinner at same day.

Tracey told me once you booked the Lawn, they will prepare a spare room for you. In the event of bad weather, all the stuffs will be moved from the Lawn to the room for indoor solemnization

iamken

New Member
No my dear... you don't pay extra.... the room is bundled with any bookings of the Lawn. It's their std practice to anticipate bad weather.

But the Lawn will cost you $1999++ for 20 pax. Includes canape, champagne drinks thru out the solemnization.

Includes std floral too. These floral can be moved to dinner ballroom if you are having both events on same day.

Hi All! I have signed up with Raffles for my wedding on Christmas this year!

Wow! There are so many comments here and all so vast in opinions. But like Visha, I love everything about Raffles and totally cannot wait for my day to arrive.

Hmmmmm iamken, just wanted to share that Raffles has lifted the photography restrictions for the year. I met them yesterday to sign the contract and this was discussed. We can now take our bridal photographs anywhere in the hotel on the actual day of our wedding! They did mention though that we could help them maintain the privacy of the hotel by not bringing along a big group of people around with us for the picture-taking. Fair enough! As a hotel guest, I really would not appreciate a rowdy crowd outside my room as well. =)

Anyway, can someone share ideas for printing?

shingirl

New Member
Crissy!! So you are the one!!
Actually i wanted Christmas this year..... but it is on reserved...... so i had to beg them for opening the slot for me next year =)

Anyway, i do not intend to take their wedding cards as i find it too plain...... however many friends who had their wedding with them advise me to take their cards as the paper quality and stickers are bery good.... and their cost price is around $3 per piece...... so still thinking whether to take or not......

let me know if u got any good printers too =)

Visha: I think the cards are so beautiful. it's simple and elegant..most importantly, it has the raffles logo and hot print on it...i think that's more than enough...kind of like buying a brand hahaha

My wife is overseas so i'm doing most of the planning. can't wait to get her more involved in the details and all. it's just too hectic for myself, since i don't have an eye for detail. luckily the staff at raffles are very helpful with assisting me in the plans, since i'm just so utterly blured out haha
