Hi,
I'm new here...I've already bk Hilltop Garden Restaurant at level 2 for 26 Jan 08 but my wedding will be postponed due to personal reasons. I placed a $2k deposie. It come with free flow beer, red wine & hard liquor.
i'm now letting it go, anyone interested..can help..

hi sophisticated bride, my advice, get any of your best friend or ur hb buddy to be emcee.. i think the hilltop emcee is quite chinnn-na type.. or getai. if u need an emcee, i can intro. but i still think get someone u know will be better.

Hi PK,
Not enough cards, can call up hilltop and ask for more. They will ask why, just tell them more tables. They did mention they will charge those extra invitation cards if we did not meet the confirmed tables, but I guess, they can waive that one…. Just bargain with them.

Hihi, I need some help here.
i'm deciding between qianxi hilltop and The grassroot club (YioChuKang GimTim Restaurant). I like qianxi coz of the crystal chandelier and the fact it provides free flow of hard liquor, beer and wine so i wun have to trouble myself sourcing & bringing there.
but location wise, i believe grassroot club is shorter walking distance from yck mrt station compared to hilltop from bkt batok mrt. i also worry tat hilltop has only 1 lift to the ballroom so guests might have to wait long for it? (correct me if i'm wrong)
Total cost will estimate to be about the same for both, even after adding an approximate cost for liquor and wine for grassroot, which doesnt have free flow.

I attended a wedding last year at Gim Tim YCK The Grassroot there. The food is not nice. Fish is not fresh. The rest of the food also either bland or salty. And food quantity is little. I don't recommed there.

pk: i agree too... but the thing is i manage to find one of my gf to be emcee only... i need one more male de... but everyone i asked got stage fright... so
btw, im found songs for my 1st dish, 1st march & 2nd march in liao... how abt champage pouring. do we need one as well? and i need to burn them each of them into one disc ya? im editing the songs now from the chrous... but no ideal it gotta to be how long... can someone advice?

urs in june? mine soon 1 month time ya... ive found out from hilltop... nvm how long is the duration of the song, the av staff there will help to fade the songs slowly... as for 1st dish song ard 1min+

hi all. since i'm not having alcohol for my wedding, do you think there is room to negotiate for other stuff? also, if my AD is in Nov 08, hilltop garden is open to bookings already, right?

hi all i just had my wedding yesteday here...
i must say their service 8.5/10... they are experience and accomodating... i got 2 tables never turn up... but can come back another day to eat there... but no loss... hehe... in fact more then i expected...
the ballroom is very grand... both me and my husband like it alot

Dear all, i'm new to this thread. Had just booked hilltop garden restaurant, crystal ballroom for my AD in May 2008. My mom loves the crystal lights and i love the long march-in aisle and the reception area. Haha.... My hubby doesn't like the 1.2K booking fee for the ballroom though.
I have some concerns abt the bridal changing room though. Its just beside the kitchen... and how do u walk in to the ballroom? The boss told me that we will walk back to the ballroom from the balcony. Hmm... but what if it rains?
Then another thing is that... i realised that the floor of the lifts are lined with cardboard. The boss told me that the club will do it everytime they have a function. Is it true? I think that it looks unsightly wor.

Hi Lydia, i went to the 2nd floor restaurant. Find it not as nice as the 4th floor. The stage is much smaller and the hanging lights are quite old fashioned.
Hi LittleVal, i think that they have 2 red tables. One for your family and the other for your hubby's family. One personal server per red table. At least, that's what they told me when i was in Expo Bliss Garden. Don't think it will be different in HillTop Garden restaurant.

Hi,
I went for the food tasting already. The food is not bad, fresh! Portion are pretty generous also. Overall I only changed 2 items in the cold dishes, others all ok. Red wine is the Concers' stone...very normal.
Ya i went to checked, there are 2 red tables, perhaps I will only request it to be 1 red table for the immediate families only.

been awhile since I came into tis Forum. Finally had my AD confirmed after seeking a master to calculate the dates for us. We've initially booked the ballroom on 07 Jun 08. But have just changed it to 31 Aug 08. So if you know of any couples tat is looking at the date we just let go, pls ask them to call Suzanna quick..

Oh I have booked the Crystal ballroom @ Level 4. The ballroom is really nice, new & grand! I liked the concept that guests can take the lift directly up to the ballroom, once the life door open then is the reception area.

There's no pillar on all their 2nd level function rooms. It's just door partitions between each individual function rooms, which will be open up to cater to the no. of tables you book.
