Peony Jade Resturant

w3n - No, there is no hotel stay included. I actually have a 2N stay booked at Novotel Clarke Quay for the wedding weekend when Accor was having a very good online promotion.

Parking is partially provided at Liang Court's carpark, not CQ because the restaurant is closer to Liang Court.

Yes, can do solemnisation before wedding dinner. Set-up, etc all included, no extra cost. This is done on the stage area.

thanks ene.

i read from previous posts that there is free flow of wine (because no more free hotel stay). may i confirm is free flow of beer or wine?

is there any cocktail session before the dinner?

the soleminsation can do at the private room instead of the stage?

anyone got pic of the wedding favors?
tks!

I signed my package in 2008 and the package does not include wine but we can buy their house wine at a discounted rate. I cannot remember how much it costs per bottle now. Yes, beer is provided but I think it's limited to a specific amount - someone verify this please.

No cocktail because there is no space! But I know they will serve drinks and guests can stand around or sit at their table.

I believe you can do the solemnisation ceremony in the room instead because I know one room will be blocked off for the bride to change. This means you'd need to 'turn around' the room after the ceremony to be used as a changing room? Also, if you have many guests witnessing the ceremony, the room may be a little cramped. Better on stage area

Recently, just had my solemnisation held at PJ.. I shall not state the incident in details, but it was definitely badly handled when something went wrong.. And the staffs were also not very readily wanted to pacify us as customers.. Was very disappointed with the management as it was quite a reputable restaurant...

So for those who are interested to hold your wedding ceremony or ROM solemnisation with PJ, please ensure that you have taken care of all the contingency plans when something goes wrong.. Or else it might just be a nightmare not a wedding when no one from PJ will be able to readily help you to solve your problem...

tiffanie - Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Care to share more details? Generally, PJ has received good feedback on their service standards so am surprised to read about what happened.

ene> PM you..

w3n> Can't really PM you.. My experience with Keppel staff was not very pleasant one, which is why I chose Clarke Quay in the end.. But Keppel is bigger, newer and nicer I think..

Peony Jade food is pretty good... That's the consoling part..

My fiance just told me that apparently, PJ dropped their prices for this year, probably due to the downturn. He mentioned that per table is about $450++ now?

hey gals...good news! Just got an update from pj @ cq that they've decided to stay put with the rates for 2010
happy.gif

However, for new couples like me who have not confirmed with a deposit yet, there will be changes on the menu to a 8-course instead. In addition, if we opted the higher packages, i.e. Serenade @ $688.00++ or Soulmate @ $728.00++, we will be getting a one night stay in one of the affliated 5-stars hotels...

Haiz...can't wait the tong shu to be out soon!

the tong shu for year 2010 not out yet?

glad they are not increasing cause i feel their packages after the ++ is abit steep. of course, food and service wise i have not tried so i dont know if it is worth it.

when will the package details for the new menu be ready any idea? tks

Hi piggySbride, you can simply choose a song of 3-4 mins will be sufficient for your march-in, cake cutting and back to your seats...

w3n, i agree with u on the new menus which are much more different from the usual banquet dishes
happy.gif
Especially the one with Hot Chocolate Pudding as dessert...Yummy!

Danlee, if your old package of 9 dishes to change for the new menu of 8 dishes and of the same pricing per table, likely shd b ok...u may want to chk with your contact person @ pj?

yup bascially the package like nt much diff but i realised instead of all chairs will dressing, now is alternate chairs with the ribbon. the rest perks about the same. i really hope to try their food someday~

w3n, have veried with pj and the alt ribbons are meant for pj @ keppel and they still provide for all for the one @ cq
happy.gif

cos cq has smaller capacity vs. keppel, thus able to do it for the rest in maroon only...

Hi, heard there's some bumboat ride entrance for the couple, and some platform for guests to view. Any one planning for that? Wondering if possible to do an outdoor cocktail recep thing at the platform?

Hi there, I had a v bad encounter with peony jade keppel club restaurant recently. Judge as you read.

We have been interested in the Keppel Venue due to its oriental theme and sitting of 10 persons per table. Knowing from my close friend that Keppel club member would be entitled to have their svc charge waived, we enquired with Peony (Rosie) the next day by email, enquiring if it is true. Rosie replied saying that the svc charge would be waived for Keppel Club member.

Immediately I told my HTB to call Rosie and confirm if the member is my friend, would that be still valid. Rosie replied saying that so long our friend swipe his member card will do. She probed us further if we like the place. We were really overjoyed with close to settling with our banquet venue (well, I believe u all should know, it’s a hassle).

On that Friday, we took a half day leave down to keppel club peony jade to negotiate the terms in detail (because Rosie does not work on Sunday). However, Rosie dishonoured what she has spoken previously, saying that the policy has been changed and apparently only immediate family of Keppel member would be able to enjoy the perk. She told me that she is going to see what she could do and get back to us by Monday.

On Monday, my HTB called Rosie and she said that it’s not possible to waive the svc charge for us after discussed with her boss. I was frustrated with this explanation and negotiate with Rosie. Yet, she insisted that at we have never signed any contract (be it verbally or in written, they have offered us this term in person through verbal conversation and email). When I further requested for the exact date of the policy changed by Keppel Club, she did not have an answer. I really cannot imagine a restaurant in S'pore Wine and Dine would actually dishonour what they have offered to their customers. I requested Rosie to allow me speaking to higher authority personnel as she mentioned that she is not in power of this. She replied by saying that her boss would be calling me the next day but never (take back their words again, full of excuses saying that her boss has been in a meeting and just stepped in etc. Well, I gave them ample time by calling them only evening of the day after). She hung up the call after that saying that she has some customers to handle. What has been promised is promised. When they changed their policy they did not publish it somewhere or give us a call or email us, knowing that we’re interested in their venue. I would not hesitate to raise this issue further. Obviously they do not understand what business ethic is. Rather disappointed on how Singapore Wine and Dine judge, merely on food? Obviously they’re not providing a service to their customers.

wedding_bells, I am also considering PJ for my wedding. Juz checked with Cathy from PJ and she confirmed that the UOB Wedding Privilege is applicable for both Clarke Quay and Keppel. Not sure about how the complimentary table works for the Clarke Quay branch though..

hmm ... my email correspondenc is with him ~ i tot that since we've finalised the meetup time via email, so i tot that there isn't a need to call him again via the phone to confirm. So i just went, think he was on his way down, so we spoke to the assistant manager instead, Leon. Hmmm ... the meet up was ok ~ when we about to finish then came james ~ spoke a few sentence then buai buai ~ i think CQ is pretty much based on the package, not very flexi cos it's more popular than Keppel.

And yes, James was involved in mooncake sales therefore i think that's why he's delayed but he did not explained. CQ is emphasize that their staffs are all full-time ~ so more experience lo.

In fact, i've arranged CQ & Keppel after each other ~ i prefer cathy !! She's much more honest and flexible ~ beside i love the Solemnisation place ~ very nice ~ Keppel's restaurant's atmosphere is so much better, in terms of deco, ceiling and space!
