Hi Midas,

It looks like London, Paris, Milan, Florence, Rome. So that's five cities in three countries.

That's a lot of places to visit; I hope she has enough time for each place. Or maybe it is just a list of which she will choose 3 out of 5. But it's just my wild guessing.

Incidentally, all five cities are quite expensive.

ok...let me gv u an idea..in london, an extremely small n cramp 3star hotel rm in gd locations will cost u 80-100euros(SGD160-200). rome ones is about there too..no BF. florence ones slightly cheaper, 70-90euros can get pretty gd location 3star rm. all europe hotels does not include BF by default...u'll need to pay extra 10-20euros per pax per day...n BF means bread&butter n cereal only for some hotels..n it isn't free flow supply as in buffet style..u get one set per pax..

hope the info helps..

Just to add on: if breakfast is not provided, just hop by to nearby patisseries (pastry shops) or boulangeris (bakeries) to get good and cheap pastries and / or bread. That is for Paris. I believe that for London or anywhere in Italy, you can find good and cheap breakfast places nearby too.

In fact, when I'm in France, if breakfast in hotels is optional, I would never go for it. Always more worth it to eat outside. Plus you get the real Paris atmosphere too.

Or u can try out www.citadines.com
it's under the Ascott group, so can give support to Spore's brand even when overseas.

But i dun think this Capitaland's subsidary company give any disount or special treatment to fellow sporeans.

Hi,

I would suggest you do some research on the different arrondisements. Many have the type of things you are looking for. With hundreds of hotels that will meet your other criteria, it is probably best to find where you want to stay first.

Also, I'm not sure of the rest of your trip, but do you definitely need the car? Since you will just be "parking" it, you'll be paying (rental fees) for something you won't be using. Not sure if you have any flexibility there, but if so...

Many hotels now offer internet connections, so I think you'll be ok there.

No need to stay in a hostel to meet other travelers Bars, cafes, etc. work great for that.

You might also want to give Priceline a try. Since you are open to different hotels, you can probably get a great rate there. FWIW, we are going to Paris at the end of this month and paid $115 for Novotel Les Halles.

Lastly, on our first trip to Paris we were about your age. We simply showed up in the city and found a hotel in a location we liked. We paid $50/night and had a view of the Eiffel Tower (the room was about the size of a closet, tho ). But, the point is, you can get a good deal that way and also see your room before committing to anything.

Have fun!

In Paris, nowhere is "close to everything" because the main sightseeing destinations are spread out across the city. It's a long way from the Eiffel Tower to Montmartre to the Latin Quarter. That doesn't matter, however, as the public transport system (métro, bus) is fast, widespread, cheap and efficient
