Overseas Photoshoot Locations

Hi, new to the forum

just started planning for the big day so trying to find out information on what we need to do or prepare.

we are thinking of going overseas for a photoshoot, and seems like some of the popular choices are taiwan, bali and bintan.

any other locations that would be great for the shoot?

Hi Jenise, I had my PS overseas, DIY style, in 2 locations. First shoot in New York City, second shoot in Ithaca, USA. I chose to hire local professionals (American) for both shoots.

What I mean by DIY is: I coordinated the entire shoot (locations, what to wear, organizing the photographers, hair and MUA etc.). My husband and I could not afford a package mah. heh heh ;-)

I chose to fly over to America to do this because NYC and Ithaca was personally meaningful to my husband and I. At the same time,we had to be very careful on spending. Is there anything that is specifically meaningful to you and your husb to be? Like if Lord of the Rings is special then can go NZ... lol ;-) The thing is if you DIY yourself, no location in this world would be a problem.

Jenise> I'm also going for overseas photoshoot.
I'm doing it in Hong Kong and Macau. First I search through the internet for HK photographer and I found my photographer through WPJA.

For wedding dress and suit, I'm taking local package (MTM without photoshoot). As for make-up, the HK photographer had arranged it for me.

Hiring local professional will be cheaper then taking a package and also they know the place well.

It will be fun planning all this. =)

thanks for sharing your blog, will take note of your advice, seems likes really fun to coordinate the shoot(and might be a bit stressful i guess).

at the moment i'm looking at getting a gown from US, a friend sent me a few links earlier on where to look

locations we have in mind at the moment:
australia (was thinking somewhere along the Great Ocean Drive)
western china (tibet, shangrila?)

lol, well for us we like the remote beauties so these two places seems to fit

It is really cool and enjoyable to do your PW overseas.. I support you (",)

we did our PW shoot with Andrew choi in LasVegas last year and had a really fun and enjoyable time...Its a full package including make up so we dont need to do any coodinating work.. Basically fuss free lah...

If you like remote places, why not go Tasmania? It is a very scenic place with spectacular landscapes like rugged coastline, pristine beaches, green green forest and many national parks..and best of all, it is not so commercialised yet..

Great Ocean road is not remote lah... its is a tourist spot and a very commercialised plc.. Not feasible cos winds are strong.. Your hair and veil will be flying all over your face...Plus GOR needs at least half a day travelling time from Melbourne city...wasted alot of time liao...

Tibet or Shangrila sounds like an interesting idea but i guess logistics seems like a challenge plus you need the time to get used to altitude sickness also...

If you aldy considered melbourne, why not spend a $100 more to fly to Tasmania? U get better scenery there..You can check out andrew's site. www.andrewchoi.com.sg for his tassie portfolio..

well for me, i fell in love with GOR when I went there for my graduation trip. It was during winter so not too many people and the scenery was so stunning like some melodrama mtv.

Been surfing around in some australian forum to pick up some information, and some of the locals also suggested Tasmania, so will add that to my shortlist

Yeah.. I saw some of bridal pictures taken in LiJiang.. Nice landscapes... But just be cautious and you need to do more detailed research before engaging them. See more of their portfolio and make sure you like their style and the photos dont look like they have been superimposed before committing.

Hi guys, we are happy to announce two more confirmed overseas shoots for this year, Rome/Italy in October and Prague in end-Nov. Slots are still available but limited to ONE more couple only (per location).

Actually we did our prewedding in Beijing as both of us are stationed in Beijing. The shot turned out great. All 400 pictures are returned to us and the best part is it is all under SGD2000.

I just saw the promotions offered from my PG to New Zealand next year from March onwards. The chief PG will be on photography assignment there for months, so you save on his airfares and accommodations!

Too bad, they should have this promotion this year so I can grab it =( Always wanting to go to NZ/Aus for Pre-Wed shoot.
