Orchard Parade Hotel-Club Chinos

Hi All,

I visited the ballroom at OPH last saturday.Low ceiling and the antica ballroom is rather small. If you have around 25-27 tables, it should be okay.. but anything more than that, it will be rather squeezy with minimal room for movements.
I feel the ambience is rather cosy and the set up is pretty good..The only issue will be the projector which is manual..The waiter will be putting up the projector before montage and take away asap during the march-in. If there's any video clip to share after the yum seng, they will have to put up the projector manually on the stage. Yup, that's my feedback..Hope it will be useful...

hi hi,

I'm gonna have my banquet at Club Chinos Antica Ballroom next Sunday nite. Gonna take the max of 32 tables. I've seen the seating, its indeed squeezy but its already too late for me to change the venue. So hopefully the food will make up to it. The ceiling is low too. But my hubby said they've put up new deco which is more classy & romantic. I'll only c on my wedding nite.
As for package, I signed up more than a year back during their bridal fair & there was Citibank offer. So its free wine corkage too. And 15+1 (free) table. The rest more or less the same.

I'll be uploading the wedding pics in multiply after the wedding. U gals can add me. My ID: natalieleu

We had our wedding dinner here in June. All the "negative" points that have been listed are true, low ceiling does not give a grand effect, small means less space to walk around, portable projector means the screen image is not very sharp... *But* we found the food good, and got several compliments on the thick sharksfin soup, the unique spinach tofu, the yummy yam basket and others. It fulfilled the effect we wanted, something more intimate, just good food and a good time. Our wedding room was on the 4th floor (can't recall suite number) and found it adequate. Our guests were also tickled with our stamps because we chose a picture with us making a funny face. That's the kinda wedding we had!

Eric was also very helpful in allowing us the complimentary use of one of their private dining rooms for our tea ceremony. We held it just before the dinner and CC prepared the tea and tea cups and such. 2 Waitresses were also on hand to help. Now that's good service

Hi anise,

There are 2 different designs for the card. You can view the design on www.focal-ad.com under 'Contemporary' under the 60 cents value ones. It comes in either ivory or red. I just had short session at CC last Thursday. Btw, if you are taking CC, the projector isnt complimentary, might wanna check with them

Hi, just to check with those who have recently signed up with Club Chinos. Which option did you choose when sign up and which is more worth it?

1. One complimentary table for 10 persons for every confirmed 15 tables. OR give up 1 free table for every 15 table and instead no wine corkage (corkage is at $15+ per bottle)?

2. Free flow beer OR a complimentary bottle of wine for every confirmed table for Romance & Valentine package?

Seems like their perks are quite standard after talking to Cornelius on Sat. Anyone any advise? Thanks.

Hi All,

I am considering to holding our wedding in Orchard Parade Hotel too. We are giving the option for either the Ballroom or the restaurant. I personally find the restaurant more romantic but it cannot hold the number of tables that we are having unless we cut down on the number of guests. But the ballroom seems like the usual type nothing special even with the entire room decorated up. When we went down last Friday, they are having wedding dinner in both areas. The cocktail reception seems to be in a big mess with two group of guest hanging around the same area. Now we are still looking around for an ideal wedding banquet location.

Hi June, where else are you considering? I think most ppl who booked OHP is due to the Tunglok brand and the the rather affordable package compare to other hotels. Agreed that the ballroom has simple deco. No themes like other places such as crystal or garden or whatever. Ha..Anyone have hold their wedding recently and can share if the reception is indeed messsy with weddings in the ballroom and CC? Planning to sign up at their wedding show. Thanks.

Anyone can share on the bridal suite they provide and has any photos? Is the room comfy or should we top up 300+ to upgrade to a bigger room? Thanks!

HI all... Cornelius is the Sales Executive and Eric is the Banquet Manager. In terms of rank, of course Eric is higher, but I wouldn't say Cornelius is working under him, more like hand in hand.

Hi alvin, IMO, I'd rather take Free flow beer instead of complimentary wine per confirmed table. Reason being I can get wines on consignment and return unopened bottels, but if I were to purchase beer on a barrel basis, if too little means new barrel to be purchased, if left over I cannot refund or bring it home. That's my rationale of course.

There is a wedding show coming up in Nov for OPH with White Links. Think there will be better perks for the wedding showcase. Anyone going? Heard the lucky draw prices quite good...

Hi there,
I just had my wedding banquet in Antica Ballroom and I must say 32 tables will be very cramped. I had 30. The food is nonetheless very good and excellent as commented by friends and relatives. Portion was big, so big to an extent that my relatives wanted to packet back the food but was unable to do so. The only drawback was the setting up of the video was very manual. Other than that, I guess everyone was happy with the food.

Congrats on your weddin nathan! Any pics of OPH to share with us? How was the bridal suite like?

So agree with you that the projector is really not elegant and time consuming! Can we petition to OPH and CC to do something about and "force" them to upgrade to a mounted projector? What do you all think?

anise, i have seen the hotel room, quite standard & cosy. There is a sliding door separting the bedroom & living room. however, it is kinda dim. I am quite afraid the light is not bright enough for the make-up. Maybe will bring my own white light lamp along on AD.

The window is facing the carpark. not advisable to draw the curtains. But no choice, their bridal suites are all facing the carpark, 2 to 5th storey.

Hi,

Can i check,
the mounted projector that you are all discussing, which mean they can't leave the screen there throughout dinner? if we needs to play some video?
have to remove when not in use and put back when needed?
Sounds weird.. anyone know how long it takes to remove and put back?
Is it the same for both the antica ballroom and the club chinois?
Pls advise

alvinpoh

New Member
Yes have to remove when not in use cos it's portable type...not those mounted on ceiling. Otherwise will take up space in front of stage when not in use. The screen also portable. Depends on how many tables you have. If around 23 like during wedding show, then guess the screen can be there all the time cos got enough space. Why not go down and see it for yourselve the actual setup?
