hello! I just met Lis today. I think she's quite good and punctual and is able to give suggestions. Not bad for someone who has to pick things up so quickly. =)

Chose the garden theme, the souvenirs and the reception decoration and the solemnization decorations. hm...I think won't add anymore things cos it's only one night hahaa

hi all, tot of sharing my thoughts of having attended the wedding banquet of a very good friend of mine...

its my first time eating there.. like what others had mentioned, the food for novotel is not nice, i would say its disappointing, even for a hotel standard.. considering, my friend had the most expensive menu on the house... she paid good money for it, (from the 2011 menu, its $1228 nett). feel rather sayang for her... for one, the pacific abalone is not really abalone.. one bite, you can tell that its more like top shell (its not abalone, but one of its relatives in the shell family).. if you look at the chinese wording, you can confirm that. its written as yu bao... something like top shell family. do take note of that

nonetheless, the ballroom is very spacious and nice... my wife likes the decoration and feel of it. for me, i was there to witness her next phase in life. that's the most important thing.

please bear in mind that if you are intending to hold your wedding dinner on a weekend (fri/sat), pls do consider the traffic leading out from the carpark.. drivers are stuck in the jam for nearly 30 mins, coz the service road is packed with cars... these are cars from elsewhere who are utilizing the small service road as well, noting that its clarke quay area on a weekend... first time, i get caught in such a bad traffic jam after a wedding dinner, coz the carpark leads out to a small service road, which in turn is jammed leading out to the main road...

the service staff are in a rush to clear your dishes, even though you the portion of food was only 70% touched (guests are still eating)... the untouched food were simply cleared away with used dishes stacked on top of them.. i guess, we can't really blame the staff as they are eager to just go off.. thought of penning it down while its still fresh in my mind.

oh my, my wedding is on a Friday, I hope they brush up their service by then. >< I would need to take note to raise this issue to the banquet manager.

What's the ballroom decoration like? I chose the garden theme.

Attended a wedding dinner last nite at NCQ. Overall was satisfactory. The wedding couple chose the garden theme too. Probably bcos ytd was sun, so the dinner ended at 10.30pm, the traffic was alright too.

i went for food tasting, tot the food was not bad though....maybe there's a difference between one table and many tables.

yup actual day food was ok for mine, some of my guests praised the food as nice also.

hi Summer, that's great to know! May i check with you for the music, did you burn the CD yourself and pass to them or use theirs?

Dnise, for wedding favours, they have a lot of picks as there is new gifts that have just arrived...key chains, cards, can openers, pen, luggage tags etc and they all come in various designs

if you wanna use your 'burnt' CDs, remember to bring along ALL original CDs also. This is as per request by NCQ.

I used my own music for my wedding.

Jingying, we used our own music but they requested to have original Cds on hand. However they have a list of their own music of 100 love songs. If you are ok you can use theirs =)

my wedding was the entire garden theme, used the green and all.. can IM u the link if u wanna see how it looks like..

if u changing the drape, maybe change colour of flowers too to suit either red/purple.. =)

jingying, i used the birdcage from the garden theme, backdrop from the red theme and the silver n gold from the purple n red theme.. its like a total mixed from everywhere.. LOL

most impt is to decide on your colour theme you prefer then you work everything from there. I decided on the oriental theme: red and gold so i tried to fix all the colours based on that. so easier..

Yeah I checked with the coordinator and the flowers on the aisle cannot change So only the flowers at the side can change hehee. I changed my VIP table flowers to be red. So probably will change the side ones to be red too.

jolye , the cinnamon room layout is exactly the same just the deco is slightly smaller. Meaning if the backdrop is made up of 5 panels, cinnamon room only has 3

i had my wedding dinner at novotel last dec under Jack. the service was good. food was good too. very happy with their service. no cock-up on actual day too. we did meet up w jack and the IT guy before our wedding to test montage and music.

was looking through the name cards i collected at Novotel wedding show last year and realised that Lis Ng was the banquet operation manager in-charge of actual day banquet coordination before she took over Hui Ling's role. Personally, i saw her coordinating my friend's wedding before. Quite a nice lady.
