Hmm, when u intend your AD to be? cos sometimes, dates can be booked more than 1 year ahead..just like my experience with the hotels..i couldn't get a suitable booking for end 2009 tt's y i ended up a 2010 bride instead. If your planned AD is in first half 2010, I sugg u book earlier..cos I think by now there's already a waiting list of brides for Novotel to release their 2010 booking in Bows09. ~2 cents worth ^^

Hi jane, ya i agree with natelyn...
Also, their wedding shows don't come often...i think for most hotels, it's 2 times a year or something.. so after jan, their next roadshow may not be in feb mar... probably 2nd half of the year..

Ya agree also that there's already a waiting list for novotel to release 2010 booking...

does anyone knows when are they going to open for booking for 2010? on BOWS itself which is 9 jan? or earlier?

Hi Jane,
think they will have the perks, but you have to measure between your AD &amp; the timing of the shows...like tis yr, they had 1 inhouse fair in Aug, then think maybe in the bows08 in Jan...so you see only 2 times a yr, if wait till aug, maybe too late of early 2010...
like me lo, I missed the bows, then worried that the date is booked, then that time they also can't tell me when is the inhouse fair....but I see the perks are better in the bows fair09 leh

Yup Kevin is our coordinator, he is quite nice in terms of response and services and also give his comments and recommendations when we are at lost of choosing our table cloths and gifts.

Even tend to follow up after wedding on if there is any improvements need to be done for Novotel.

Thanks. The wedding was great. For me, I have chosen the Pleasure package and Phoenix Ballroom. I have chosen the flower theme cause hubby doesn’t like the crystal theme at all.

I love the way they presented the first dish. Very nice dance. My emcee make a joke saying it was me who had choreograph the dance and almost all my guests believed it. Haha!!

Afraid I only took few photos as I was rushing for time that day and too tired. Maybe when the photographs or video are ready, I would post them.

Hi joey, i think the minimum booking for pheonix ballroom is 30 tables. And the ballroom is indeed nicer and bigger than the other one. maybe you can negotiate with them.. perhaps 28 tables + 2?

Hey all, I do have a multiply acct but haven't gotten my wedding pics yet. When I've gotten them, I'll upload and share the link. Took the rose theme too- NCQ has a good florist, their red roses are so gorgeous.

Jaslyn, yes the chocs are for the newly weds, ha ha. They will be placed in the suite after the dinner. We invited our friends into the room to eat.

It was v convenient to do the tea ceremony at the hotel, cos NCQ'll provide you as many tea cups as you want so you don't need to wash them. Jodare, Kevin did a great job for us, so definitely recommend him.

then in that case, either u invite more ppl...or you got to get the smaller ballroom le...but also not bad ahh..just that ceiling a little lower and smaller in size.

joey> i thk 27 tables can be quite tricky. cinnamon will be too small for u. their max is 26 tables IIRC. and if u max out 26, heard that it'll be v squeezy with the aisle being compromised. likely tables will increase as yr AD gets nearer (somehow). so either u take a bet and cfm 30+2 at Phoenix or u can be prepared to not open 2 confirmed tables, and then come back NCQ to eat that 2 tables after your wedding.

joey, I think I read the previous forum before that someone actually take less than 30 tables, think is 28, but they pay for 30, so the 2 they went back for CNY dinner/lunch...something like that...maybe you can just let them know that u are interested see what they can do 4 u...27 is squeezy for cinnamon.

cheapest is 888 nett per table.

actually i haven had a look at the ballroom. but seems like the prices are increasing over the years althou there is a recession

I've received the new rates too..they took out 1 menu so now there's 3 menus instead of 2009 4 menus...

they increase $100 for my intended Destiny menu..*sob* very high leh..2009 was $828 now $928..very ex

i'm asking kevin if there will be any new themes for show during bows09..from what i tracked..they haven't changed their themes for almost 2 years liao...

Hi Joey, guess they increase becos their price is somewhere at the lower end/range though their ballroom and all are able to accommodate quite a lot... So i think that's why there is an increase of $90 for the cheapest package...

But i'm soooo shocked that they got package for auspicious dates!!! soooo expensive lo... 1088 and 1188... with the same perks somemore...
they never had that last time... urgh

my wedding was last yr .. and i took the phoenix ballroom... then end up i only have 28 tables.... in fact only 27 were opened on the AD... so the remaining 2 tables, i am going back to eat this coming thurs =)

wow...think it's good that they are flexible and cater to those who have neither here nor there number of tables..

Their min table is as per in the package, 18 for cinnamon and and 30 for pheonix..

Joey, the 2 ballrooms are nice!! i love the pheonix ballroom...spacious without pillars! they also have a reception area which is exclusive..

Joey, my AD coming Dec...i booked Cinnamon. It has one pillar...when u enter the ballroom, its on the right. If u have 22-24 tables, i think will have 1 table blocked. If you stick to 18-20 tables, should not have any tables blocked...

Meaning they increase $90 per table. To me, it's ex...cos they increase $80 per table for 2009 i already complain. But bobian...nowhere else fits the bill plus must stick to budget.

Joey...their menus got change for 2010 anot?? If totally nv change, i think the 1088 and 1188 pricings for auspicious dates are not worth it.

Evergreen, which hotels actually decrease pricings for 2010?? LOL....Their ballrooms look ok only, must see with the wedding deco set-up...i was quite impressed the first time i saw them, haha....nice nice...

anyone knows when are the auspicious dates marked out by novotel? yeah it is too expensive at 1000+. might as well go to other hotels. but at least they let us know earlier. read fr an earlier thread tt a couple only knew that their date is an auspicious date after booking. so they had to comply to it...

I think for 2009, already got the auspicious date thingy....one of the fellow forummers here kenna. I think 888 (if weekend), bian qiang ok...but anything above 900 is too expensive. In fact, i think anything above 700 will make a loss already...the only way to minimise loss is have lesser tables (invite closer frens/relatives only) or simply having the dinner at a more affordable venue....

I am new to this forum. Have signed up with Novotel 2 weeks ago. Liaised with Kevin, I did ask him if there are any surcharges and he said only on Xmas eve,Xmas day, New year eve and New year day. He did not mention about any auspicious date but better to ask them first.

Hi evergreen,

Only met him once but several times on email. Find him a very responsive guy on email. He is very kind to extend the BOWS perks to us even though we sign up way before the BOWS. Think we wont even know of this BOWS if he did not tell us. Can't really comment much on him since only met him once. However, have read from previous posts and there are many compliments of him. So think he should be quite good ba.

My AD is 15 Nov 09. Booked Cinnamon. What about you?

Other than the BOWS perks, any other things you manage to negotiate?

The things i negotiated are upgrade of bridal room to bridal suite and complimentary food tasting (had to pay 50% for food tasting previously). Think the above are already given to you if you book pheonix ballroom. For me who booked cinnamon got to be thick skin and ask for them..haha.
Have tried asking for increase of parking coupon and free extension of bridal suite but not successful.
Hope you can get what you want.

just to update all of you, the auspicious dates actually includes 10.10.2010, 20.10.2010, 8th of lunar chinese 8th month and 15th of lunar chinese 8th month. and any other dates that is popular?? not sure bout e last date...

i rec a reply from kevin about the 5o bucks disc per table.

if u hit the min table for the rooms respectively, you will be able to have the disc.

Thanks happy girl for the sharing.. think all dates are stated in their email when they send out the package for 2010.. but then again, better double check with the wedding planners on the auspicious date and extra charges, if any.
